Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 15 – Marked By The Demon Triplets

Eve tore herself from the spot, running to him to avoid attracting punishment, as he was in a foul mood. “Get Carson at once!” he demanded, staring my mother dead in the eye.

I could tell it was about to get ugly.

“Why? I just told you that I forced him. He wasn’t at fault,” she protested, rushing to meet him.

“Why don’t you leave that to me? Let me be the judge of that,” he responded, folding his arms and pacing about the room.

Silence enveloped the room as the tension grew thicker. “Alpha,” Carson broke the long silence, sneaking into the room as his eyes darted around, studying our faces. All eyes were fixed on him as he strode toward my father, his head slightly bowed.

Without warning, my father threw caution to the wind, charging at him and slamming his back against the hard wall before throwing him to the floor.

“How dare you eat what I’m eating!” he snarled, grabbing Carson by the collar and smashing his head against the wall. “Alpha, I don’t understand…” Carson stammered, wincing in pain as he glanced at Valerie.

“You don’t fucking take what belongs to me. How dare you have an affair with the mistress and father this bastard child!” he spat in annoyance, pointing at Nathalia, who sobbed harder.

“Daddy, please,” she cried, taking hesitant steps toward him.

“Get away from me! I am not your father. This bastard is, and it’s a pity I’ll be sending him to hell.”

I was still trying to process his words when he pulled a shiny dagger from inside his suit and sliced Carson’s throat without hesitation.

I screamed in shock, horror filling my eyes as Carson dropped unconscious to the floor, covered in a pool of blood.

As if that wasn’t enough, my father tore Carson’s clothes with the dagger before slicing his balls and dick into tiny pieces, like scraps of meat.

Fear shook me as I watched Carson let out agonizing screams before choking on his blood. Soon, he gasped for breath, succumbing to the cold embrace of death.

My stomach churned as the little food I had threatened to come up. I quickly turned away from the bloody sight to avoid feeling nauseous. I couldn’t stand the sight of blood.

“What have you done?!” Valerie screamed in horror, her eyes bulging. She rushed to Carson, shaking him furiously as tears streamed down her face.

“You made me nurture a bastard for twenty years…” my father resumed, shooting her a deadly look. “You’re a liar if you think you’ll go scot-free.” He gritted his teeth before burying the dagger deep in her heart.

“Mum!” Nathalia and I screamed in horror, rushing to her as she dropped to the floor like a sack of potatoes.

Aurora

“Who’s there?” I jumped up, my eyes darting to the door as the knock repeated.

My brows furrowed in confusion as I tried to figure out who could be at the door.

I wasn’t expecting anyone.

“I’m coming,” I half-screamed when the knock sounded again.

Reluctantly, I got out of bed, slipping on a tank top and biker shorts.

I walked up to the door, throwing it open for the person to enter.

My heart did a somersault when I was met with Nathalia, carrying three shopping bags in her hands. Her eyes dropped to the floor before I could meet her gaze, shame surrounding her like a heavy cloak.

“The Alpha and Luna said I should give you this. Get dressed in thirty minutes because you’ll be going shopping. They’ll be waiting in the car,” she said, her eyes still fixed on the floor.

I stretched out my hand to take the bags from her, utterly shocked.

Hadn’t my parents taken me shopping last week? And the week before that?

My closet was already filled to the brim with everything I needed.

I didn’t understand why this was necessary.

Why didn’t they use the money to take care of the pack? I didn’t like the idea of them spoiling me with luxury.

But I couldn’t blame them. They wanted to make up for the years we were separated.

Even though I assured them that their gifts were more than enough, they wouldn’t hear of it. To them, nothing was too much for their beloved daughter.

“Each bag contains the dress you’ll wear, your shoes, and jewelry,” Nathalia’s voice shook as she handed me the bags carefully.

Oh my God!

They got me everything from Deevah. It was the most expensive brand!

Happiness swelled in my heart as I hurriedly checked out the items, smiling sheepishly like a child who had just tasted chocolate.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Nathalia swallow hard before shutting her eyes tightly.

She was on the verge of breaking down in tears.

A bad feeling settled within me at my behavior.

Maybe I shouldn’t have reacted that way.

Pity stirred in my chest as she forced a smile before turning to leave.

She must have felt a sharp pain in her heart at the turn of events.

Despite the way she had treated me in the past, I couldn’t help but feel compassion. It was something my mother and I had in common.

Once upon a time, she enjoyed all the privileges of shopping in the most expensive stores, living a luxurious life without a care in the world.

But now, fate had turned.

Everything that was happening felt like deja vu. Except this time, the roles were reversed. I was the one living my best life, while she took my place.

We stood in uncomfortable silence, our minds racing with thoughts.

I didn’t know why I couldn’t let her go. The strange urge to help her pricked at my conscience. What was wrong with me?!

“If… you need… anything… I can assist,” I stammered, struggling to find the right words as her appearance shattered my heart.

Once the high and mighty Nathalia, now reduced to the lowest of the low in the blink of an eye.

I couldn’t stop the questions swirling in my head as I stared at her sunken eyes.

Even if she wasn’t my sister, as I once thought, I still cared about her.

How was she coping with her new life?

How were the workers treating her, after the way she had mistreated them in the past?

Was she suicidal? Her appearance screamed depression, just as I had expected.

What was her reaction every time she saw her former parents?

And how did she feel now that she was an orphan? Alone and scared?

The fact that she had no one to talk to would only make things worse for her.

I blinked rapidly to hold back tears as memories of how she almost died flashed in my mind.

After my father killed her mother in a blind rage, he pulled the dagger from her heart, turning to Nathalia with a wicked look on his face.

It took everyone’s intervention to stop my father from driving the dagger into Nathalia’s chest.

We kept convincing him it wasn’t her fault-Valerie was the one to blame-before his fury finally subsided.

Convincing him not to kill Nathalia was one thing, but persuading him to keep her as his adopted daughter-after all the memories they had shared-was another. He refused vehemently, insisting that he wouldn’t father the child of a whore and a cheat.
