Was it too late to get back my mate ?
I didn’t know what it would take to get her back but I was willing to lay down my life if she asked that of me . But first , I was going to f*****g murder every single person responsible for putting this spell on me and separating me from the one person I couldn’t f*****g live without .
fury lashed through my body like a whip , what was left of my sanity was now completely gone .

LUCY’S POV :
I trembled in fear , I wasn’t sure what had happened one minute I was on my way to my parent’s home and the next I had a bag over my head and was being dragged to Lord alone knows where . My hands were tied tightly behind a chair , the rope digging into my skin and I couldn’t see anything but blackness . My panic continued to rise as the seconds ticked by , fear for my baby’s life making it hard to concentrate on anything or think clearly for that matter . I cursed my luck , it seemed as though a single day couldn’t go by without my life being in danger , but things were a lot more serious now . I had a baby to protect and I was determined to kill anything or anyone that threatened my baby’s life .
I stiffened as sudden footsteps sounded a little distance away . I could hear multiple voices as well , they were getting closer by the second . How many kidnappers were there exactly ? The voices were becoming a lot clearer as the men neared me .
I froze upon hearing a new voice amongst them .
I knew that voice .
Before I had time to ponder more on my recent thought , the bag was roughly pulled out from around my face without warning . I blinked , my eyes adjusting to the bright light before focusing on the person in front of me . My b***d crawled at who I saw next .
“Hi Lucy .”
Eric was standing over me with a predatory look as he waited for me to respond .
A shock of pure horror lashed through me as my eyes scanned the room , I was surrounded by five other men and they all were looking at me as if they were just waiting for orders from Eric before they pounced on me . My gaze fell on the only woman in the room , her presence a strong one amongst the men she gave off a powerful dangerous aura , everything about her screamed black magic .
A witch , I silently thought and not one of the good kinds either .
” What do you want from me ?” I asked , trying to calm my racing heart as I turned my attention back to Eric .
He smiled and took a seat opposite me . ” Your death .”
I gasped , staring at him completely terror struck .
“Why? ” I asked , my hands shaking . ” What have I ever done to you ?”
He sighed turning to the rest of his apprentices in the room . ” What has she done she asks ?” He told them , shaking his head at me as if to say I should have already known what I did .
“You know Lucy , before you came everything was going as planned and then as soon as you entered the picture my plan started to fail . I should have expected this from you however , like father like daughter . Your father almost ruined my plans years ago and you came to do the same . Luckily just like your father , I would get rid of you and get away with is just like I’d done in the past .”
“What are you talking about ?” I demanded , his words not making any sense to me .
He chuckled . ” Should I tell her ?” He asked the witch .
She smiled licking her dark lips . ” I think you should .”
“My plan has always been to overthrow Jeremy , then Austin took over the pack and my plans changed to overthrowing Austin instead , my pack always deserved the number one position you see . Anyway , years ago your father overheard my plans to ambush Jeremy’s pack but before he had time to tell Jeremy of my evil plot , I turned the entire thing on him . My allies weren’t strong enough at that time to finish off Jeremy’s pack , so I knew I had to at least get rid of your father so that he couldn’t sell me out . Some of the members of your father’s pack had already agreed to join forces with me and thus I had them attack Jeremy and put all of the blame on Richard . A brilliant plan don’t you think ? It doesn’t matter what you think actually for it did work . I separated good friends in a matter of seconds and it was honestly one of the best days of my life till date. “
“You sick -“
“But wait , there is more .” He cut me off with a wave of his finger .” I needed someone close to Austin , someone who could spy on his every move someone he would listen too . Someone he thought he couldn’t live without and who else would that be but his mate ? I put two and two together , I had a young daughter who could possibly bring the alpha to his knees , the problem was that she wasn’t his mate and he wouldn’t look her way for even a second . That’s where this powerful lady comes in .” He continued motioning for the woman to step forward . ” This is Marianne Leslie , one of the most powerful witches I know . She created a spell so powerful that Austin never doubted Ariana was his mate for even a split second until you entered the picture that is. “
“now why do you think that is Lucy ?” He asked .
When I refused to answer he continued to tell his story , answering his own question . ” Because his true mate is none other than you .”
Shock tore through me , my body paralyzed by his words . It all made sense now , the way I always drowned in Austin’s eyes , the way his touch always ignited a fire deep within me it explained why the more I had of him the more I wanted as though he were a drug that I was crazily addicted too , a drug I needed every single day of my life in order to survive. But it was more than that , much more than that , for I knew that even without the mating bond ,I would have loved Austin with all my heart I just knew that the love I had for him ran way deeper than that , so deep like I was destined to be with him , like I was made just for him .
” I had my suspicions from the moment you arrived , for Austin had already been drifting away from Ariana . My suspicions were confirmed however when he almost killed Zagan for merely touching you It’s such a shame that both of you were so clueless and couldn’t even recognize the mating bond right there in front of you . I knew how insecure you were about Ariana , could tell by your body language whenever she was around and so I told her what she had to tell you to make you leave and guess what it worked .”
“You’re a disgusting person .” I shouted , thrashing against the chair as I tried to break free . I wanted to murder this man for everything he put all the people I cared about through . Because of him I was separated from my parents , because of him my family lost their closest friends and were forced to join the council . Because of him Austin didn’t recognize me as his own mate , we were all in this big mess because of this monster and his greed for power .
“If you think so now what would you think after you’ve heard the rest for I had a spy following your every move and I paid your doctor a little visit only to find out that you’re pregnant with Austin’s baby . It’s a pity , I was going to let you go as long as you left the palace and never returned but after I found out you were pregnant I knew I had to get rid of you for good .”
My b***d crawled at his words . How sick could one person be ?
He finally rose up from the chair with a wicked smile , I wanted more than anything to wipe that smile off his face .
” It felt good to actually tell someone my story after all of these years .” He said taking a step closer to me . ” It’s a pity though that you wouldn’t live to tell the story to anyone else .”
A loud noise outside the room caught his attention and he stepped back from me to stare at the doorway .
“father !” Ariana shouted rushing through the door , her hair was in a mess and her eyes were wide with terror .
“What’s wrong ?”
“The spell .” She gasped out . ” It’s broken !”
