Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 78 – The Alpha Prince and His Bride (Lucy & Austin) Novel Free Online by LaurG

“I have to go,” I whispered. I made an attempt to leave but he grabbed my arm and pushed me straight back against the Jeep.

“I won’t let you do this to us Eden,” he whispered. “I won’t let you throw away what we have and I sure as f**k would never let Hunter have you.”

“James please-,”

He covered my plea with his mouth. This k**s was nothing like the last, it was rough and intoxicating. James kissed me like it was our last time together, like we would never see each other after today.

His hands reached between my legs and his fingers pushed my underwear aside. I gasped as he grazed my opening.

James g*****d and leaned his forehead against mine, “so wet for me… just for me.”

I gripped his shoulders to keep my balance, I didn’t know what was happening to my body but it felt amazing. Sparks flew off everywhere and I couldn’t stop James even if I wanted to.

“Say you’re mine Eden. Tell me you’re mine not his.” He growled possessively against my ear. I gasped as he pushed a finger into my wet folds.

“I-I can’t-,” I managed to gasp out.

“I’ll f*****g have you Eden.” He growled angrily. “If I have to destroy the entire council to have you, I f*****g will!”

With those words, he pulled his finger out from between my legs and pushed away from my body. I hated the defeated look on his face, I didn’t like having to do this to him. I didn’t want to push him away, it hurt whenever I did.

I wanted to stop him. I wanted to beg him to come back to me but I was frozen on the spot. All I could do was watch him walk away from me, I had no idea where he was going but I assumed our trip to the lake was now completely ruined.

Suddenly, my wolf was on high alert. We were definitely not alone in the woods, there were others closing in on us.

My eyes widened at what I saw next.

I took my time evaluating my surroundings, we were completely surrounded, there were seven men all around us. Preventing us both from going anywhere.

These men looked familiar. If I remembered correctly, these were Hunter’s men. The ones I’d seen with him the first day we had met.

“Well isn’t this interesting.”

I spun around and found Hunter looking between James and I.

Oh no.

This couldn’t be happening.

Please, no!

Hunter’s eyes were completely amused as he continued to look between James and me.

Air clogged my lungs as the reality of the situation sunk into my brain.

What were we going to do? Hunter had definitely caught us; there was no denying anything now. If I thought things were bad before, I was definitely wrong. We were alone in the woods, with no help from my siblings or James’s family.

no one knew that we were out here by ourselves. In fact, when we left, everyone was busy doing their own things. This meant, it would take a while before they realized that we were missing. By the look on Hunter’s face as well as his men’s, I could tell that we didn’t have that much time left before they attacked.

“I knew that Eden had found her mate,” he said. “I never expected that it would be you, Alpha Prince James Lance Vinci. Alpha of the second best pack in the world, after the fall of Alpha Eric.”

I hadn’t considered that. When Austin and James had defeated Eric, it meant that James’s rank would have increased, since Eric’s pack was no more. My mate held the second highest ranking, which was an amazing accomplishment.

James held his stare with narrowed eyes. His posture told me many things; the main one was that he was looking for a way to get me out of here before the fight started. I wasn’t leaving, not without him.

“You know,” Hunter continued. “I originally thought that her mate would make it hard for me to find him, after all, werewolves of all kinds cower when they hear my name. Your status however, makes everything a lot clearer for me. After coming here, your actions made it very easy for me to find you. This means, you wanted me to find out the truth.”

Hunter wasn’t asking, he was stating the facts, things that he’d figured out on his own.

By James’s tensed state, I could tell that he definitely knew what he was talking about. Did James bring me all the way here because he wanted Hunter to find us? Was that what this was about?

But then why was he here alone? If he knew we’d have gotten caught, wouldn’t he have brought his entire pack with him?

“Is it war that you want?” He asked as he took another step forward, they were directly opposite each other now. The closer they got to each other, the more my heart continued to race. Even though Hunter was speaking about war, he still seemed extremely calm and collected. I shouldn’t have been surprised, war was a normal thing for Hunter and his men, and they were cold blooded killers.

I suddenly felt light headed at that reminder.

Cold blooded killers.

“She’s my mate,” James growled. “You had one before. You know that I’ll give my life for her, if it means war, then so be it.”

Hunter’s entire posture changed at the mention of his dead mate. There was this darkness in his eyes that I hadn’t seen before now. It was the first time I’d gotten a glimpse of the cold, heartless beast everyone had so often spoken about. I was even more frightened now than I was before. The air seemed to thicken around me as I fought to catch my breath.

Everything happened so fast after that. Hunter shifted into a huge black and grey wolf while every single one of his men followed right after.

James was the last to shift; his wolf was a beautiful sight to see. I’d never seen a black wolf as beautiful as his, the fur glistened in the sun and the power that radiated of him was spectacular. I was the first person the powerful wolf’s eyes fell on before he took in all of his opponents one by one, before finally settling on Hunter.
