Chapter 151 – The Alpha Prince and His Bride (Lucy & Austin) Novel Free Online by LaurG

She nodded as tears continued to stream down her face.

I turned around when I saw Hunter rushing out the door. I immediately followed after him, scared that he would go after the Blackners.

I stopped in my tracks when I saw the state of Hunter’s men.

They were all knocked out on the ground. What did they shoot them with? The Blackners were known for their advanced technology but this was simply insane!

Hunter was on his phone next barking out instructions to multiple people. I had no idea what he was planning but it worried me.

Bruce rushed in just then.

“Get some doctors out here. Someone needs to make sure they’re okay. The rest of the pack should be back soon.” He ordered him.

Bruce nodded and sprang into action.

I followed Hunter back into the house where he went straight to Esma.

“I’m not going to sit back and watch those men disrespect you.” Hunter ensured his sister. “I know their biggest enemy. I have a good relationship with those men. I will marry you off. Believe me … that will kill nathan inside when he sees you with him.”

Esma stared at her brother like he’d completely lost it. “I’m not marrying someone that isn’t my mate.”

Hunter glared at her. “In case you haven’t noticed Esma, your mate is out of the picture. He’s a Blackner, they’re grown up from small to hate their mates. He’s moving on with his life while leaving you behind, you need to do the same. I’m your brother; let me do this for you.”

I touched his shoulder, hoping to stop him from making a huge mistake. “Please don’t do this to her Hunter. She deserves to choose who she wants to be with. Don’t force her to marry someone that isn’t her mate.”

He turned to me then with a glare and I gasped at the anger I saw there. It was the first time I’d ever seen him look at me that way and it hurt more than it frightened me.

“Why did you keep this truth from me?” He demanded. “You knew all along, didn’t you?”

***HUnTER***

I was angry, angrier with myself than I was with anyone else. I should have known this important detail about my sister. We were always inseparable, then why did she suddenly decide to keep something like this from me?

And why didn’t Isabella tell me this either? I always thought that she would be completely honest with me. I trusted her to be honest with me. I knew she held back this information from me but I didn’t know why; she even told me once that Esma was keeping something from me but I never once thought that it would be such crazy news.

My sister was the mate of one of those cold hearted creatures?

If I had known this I could have been prepared today for an attack from those sick Blackners. Instead, Isabella and my sister’s life were put at risk today. If the Blackners had wanted to do something to her today, they could have definitely done it. That fact only made me angrier.

Isabella’s eyes were tainted with the hurt she felt and it was like stabbing my chest with a dagger. I didn’t want to shout at her but I was so angry that I couldn’t control it.

It wasn’t the first time she’d done something to put her life in danger! She should have known that this was something important to tell me.

“Y-yes I did know but-“

“Clearly she didn’t think that you were important enough to share such information with. neither your sister nor Isabella cared to tell you anything. You had to hear it from me first. I wish I had mentioned it earlier. Then you would have been more prepared for the Blackners breaking into your home.” Maggie cut in.

I wasn’t ready for her as yet either. She sent away my men in such a crucial time without asking me a single thing. I couldn’t even blame my men, they knew that I allowed my mate to give orders … But that was in the past. now I allowed Isabella to give those orders. Though she never actually knew that fact.

Isabella turned to Maggie and narrowed her eyes. “This is a conversation between Hunter and me. Your invaluable input is not needed.”

I loved the way Isabella’s eyes flashed when she spoke and for a minute I almost forgot about my anger.

Maggie was furious at her now and I knew that if I didn’t get one of them out of here now, there would be a fight soon.

I grabbed Isabella’s hands and guided her up to our room. I could feel her body shaking with rage but thankfully she didn’t pull away from me.

As soon as we reached the door, she pushed it open and turned to face me with an angry glare.

“I can’t believe that you’re even listening to what she has to say about your sister and me!” Isabella shouted. “How could you even think that you aren’t important to us? Why would you think that we didn’t tell you unless we had a very good reason not to? Esma and I didn’t want to tell you anything about the Blackners because we were concerned about your own safety. We knew that they were dangerous and that you would want to start a war with them if you knew what they had done to her. We only kept it from you because we were worried for your own safety. Esma would have confessed the truth to you when she was comfortable to do so and when she thought that it was the right time. How can you not see that?”

I stopped stalking towards her, shocked by her confession. My body was so lost in rage that I never once considered this to be the reason as to why they’d kept something like this from me. Why would they worry for my well-being? I could take care of myself; they were the ones I needed to protect.

Suddenly a loud cry escaped Isabella’s mouth and she fell to the ground in pain. My eyes widened and I moved to rush to her side when realization dawned on me. I paused midway and the only movement in my body was the ticking of my jaw. Surely that wasn’t-

OH HELL nO!

This couldn’t be what I thought it was. I made an effort to walk forward when a great wave hit me and I stumbled backwards in shock. I’d never had to face a force so strong before. My head moved from side to side and a sweat built up on my forehead as I tried to stay focused.

Another cry echoed throughout the room and this time Isabella’s need hit me so hard that I almost fell over the railing.

MOTHERfUCKER-

I took a long stride into the room and staggered back against the door. I was reminded once more that I’d never been hit with anything so strong in my entire life. I was a warrior in battle; I took my opponents down with a swiftness that was often praised yet look at me now. I cowered from a woman … my woman.

“Hunter.” She croaked. “I don’t know what’s happening to me.”
