Apparently, there were a few intruders, who entered the pack house and killed their warriors, who stood on guard, but the shocking part was…

“They took Silas away after that they left.”

“They took Silas?”

“Yes.”

The intruders did not come to take Silas’s life, but instead they took him away, which meant, they wanted him alive.

Who would be behind this?

“How is the king treating you?” Rose asked Nycta. She just arrived a few days ago and she was here to check on her sister.

“He is so great with me,” Nycta replied, she blushed, but there was this image of Killian that tainted that. She then internally shook her head to get rid of that image.

It was so hard to act normal when Killian was around. Right now, the warrior was literally only a few steps away from her.

Nycta had asked Dacre to change the warrior, but the king didn’t agree because it would only raise a suspicion. She knew that too, but despite she had accepted this weird arrangement in order for her to get pregnant, she was still unable to detach herself from the image of that night.

She couldn’t act as if nothing never happened between the three of them, while the king and Killian could do it with ease. Probably, she was the odd one…

“Why are you dazing off,” Rose stated. “Is there something bothering you?”

“No.” Nycta shook her head. “I am happy to be in this palace,” she said.

“Don’t you miss our homeland?” Rose teased her, she looked beautiful in her yellow dress. She was always beautiful, but of course, no one could beat Rimera in beauty aspect. Their first sister, the late queen, always had something in her, as if she carried herself very differently.

But now she was gone, Rose was the fresh flower from their kingdom, unfortunately, she was not being picked by the king because of her age and right now, she was here to find a chosen mate for her, someone, who could match her status.

“Of course. Our kingdom is always in my heart,” Nycta said with a smile, as she recalled their time together when they were younger, when there were only the four of them, playing around in the garden without caring to the world and their duty as princesses.

After that, they talked a little bit more until the king came to pick his mate to spend the night together in his palace.

“Thank you for accompanying my queen. You are always welcome in Celeste Kingdom,” Dacre said, as he put his hand around Nycta’s waist possessively.

“Thank you for your kindness, king Dacre.” It didn’t go unnoticed by Rose of how the king

touched Nycta.

“Don’t hesitate to ask if you need anything.”

“I will.”

When Khaos returned to the pack house, it was already early in the morning, though the sun had not risen yet, you could see the sky was a little bit brighter, the snow had stopped too.

However, another storm hit the pack when the alpha learned about what happened last night.

“I think it’s Red Beast, I recognized one of them,” Caiden said, as he inspected the dead bodies that laid on the floor.

Gayle then approached Khaos to tell him what happened with Zuri. “I have sent three warriors

to look for her, but they couldn’t find her in the wood.”

“You lost her?” Rhett was not happy to hear that.

“Which wood?” Khaos asked. He was not sure how to feel about this, but for Zuri to be the

shell, it answered a few questions and justified his need to have her within his sight. She was the key for their long life plan.

Gayle then told them about it and without a second thought, Khaos and Rhett immediately shifted into their beasts to look for her.

[She said that those people looked for you to kill you, alpha.] Gayle mindlinked Khaos as they went to the woods, where Zuri had gone.

[Why she thought that way?]

[I don’t know, she only kept muttering the same thing over and over again, but when I asked, she didn’t answer me.]

Khaos immediately knew that Zuri was having one of her episodes. Not only she heard voices and saw things that were not supposed to be there, but she created a story in her mind too.

The fact that she believed that, was what bothered Khaos. From the look of it, she had a hard time to differentiate what was real and what was not.

This was the side effect of the curses that was put on her and because she didn’t have the medicine, it only got worse rapidly.

There were still a lot of information that Khaos needed to learn about this beauty blood, but he couldn’t stay away for long.

Once they reached the woods, they met with the other three warriors that Gayle had sent to look for Zuri.

“I am sorry, alpha, we can’t find her. Her trace was already covered with snow,” one of the warriors reported.

“I know this wood. I will look for her myself,” Rhett said and then shifted into his beast again to search for Zuri alone.

“Send more people, I want the entire wood to be covered,” Khaos ordered his warriors, as he shifted into his beast and started to look for her as well.

The warrior was right, because of the snow last night, the entire ground had covered with it and the cold weather made it hard for them to trace her scent.

However, as a lycan, his senses were more profound. It took a while, but he managed to catch her scent on the bark of tree that she touched.

Following her scent, Khaos found Zuri was sitting under a maple tree, rocking herself back and forth with her eyes closed. She sang to herself in low voice.

She looked worn out, probably because she had been running around the entire night in the wood. Her dress was so dirty and her hair was messy.

Khaos sighed in relief to see her and then approached her carefully. He knelt down in front of her and only then Zuri opened her eyes.

She stopped singing and rocking her body, her eyes glued to him.
