Chapter 274 – Mated To My Obsessive Stepbrother (Kester & Kasmine) Novel Free Online by Velvet Desires

“Good,” I growled, kissing her. I wanted to own her from the inside out. My hand slid to the back of her neck, holding her in place while my other hand gripped her hip, dragging her flush against me.

Every nerve in me was on fire. Every ounce of control I’d ever had was dangling by a thread. She was the one who’d set it alight, and she was the only one who could put it out.

And fuck if I was going to let her stop.

Author’s Note:

I know we’ve all been dying to see what Kester and Kasmine look like… well, your wait is over!!!

Pack your bags and take a quick trip to VELVET DESIRES on FB, TikTok, and IG. I’ve dropped something dangerous just for you.

A special video. A glimpse you weren’t supposed to see. Kester’s wild obsession, his voice, and his face, all caught in motion.

Trust me, you do not want to miss this. Once you see it, you won’t be able to look away.

KASMINE.

Ever heard of the word crazy?

Kester Hamilton was crazy. The man had gotten me a wedding dress even before I’d come to terms with the idea of ever being with him.

Speak of positivity and determination.

And it fit perfectly. The intricate designs, the… I stared at my reflection in the mirror, and God knows I was doing everything in my power not to shed a tear. I didn’t want to ruin my makeup for the second time today. My chest was tight, and my hands fidgeted in my lap as the maids moved around me.

And then my gaze slid down the gown again. It was impossible not to. The fabric shimmered faintly under the lights. Kester had a maddening talent for choosing the best of everything – and this dress was proof. He didn’t just have good taste; he had unforgiving taste.

Everyone busied themselves, putting the final touches on my hair, my face, my dress – every detail had to be perfect. The rustle of silk, the faint scent of fresh flowers, the click of heels across the floor – it all made the moment feel more real.

“Get her shoes. We’re running late, Mum ordered one of the maids as she stepped into my space with a wide smile.

“Baby… I’m so proud of you, my love.” She smiled softly, her hand finding mine. I could see the tears gathering in her eyes. She’s going to make me cry.

“Thank you, mummy,” I said with a smile.

She was happy. She was moving on very well. She seemed to be the only one moving on, because Dad was still locked up in his study, barely ever talking to anyone.

“I owe you an apology,” she said suddenly, and I signaled for the maids to excuse us.

“What apology, Mum?” I blinked, /For what?”

Her lips trembled. “For… almost ruining your happiness. For letting my own opinion blind me. I was so caught up in what I thought was right, in protecting you from what I thought would hurt you, that I nearly destroyed the very thing that makes you happy.”

“Mum…” I whispered, shaking my head.

“No, let me finish.” Her hand cupped my cheek, her thumb brushing against my skin, “I can see if now, Kasmine. I can see how he looks at you, I can see how you look at him. That kind of love… She swallowed hard, her voice breaking. “It’s rare. And it’s yours. And I will never stand in the way of it again.”

A tear slipped down my cheek before I could stop it.

“I just want you to have everything you’ve ever wished for,” she continued, her eyes locked on mine. “A home filled with love, a man who fights for you every single day, and children who will know what it means to be loved unconditionally. I want you to live the kind of happiness I once dreamed for myself but never had.”

There was no holding back anymore. By now, I was crying freely.

She smiled through her own tears. “And after today… after this wedding, I’m going to step away for a while. I need to heal, baby. I need to let go of everything that’s been eating at me since the divorce. So I’m going away for a few months.”

The words hit me hard, “What? Where?”

“Somewhere quiet. Somewhere I can breathe again.” She let out a shaky laugh. “But I promise I’ll be back in time to welcome my grandchildren into this wonderful world. I wouldn’t miss that moment for the world.”

The dam broke for both of us. I stood and wrapped my arms around her. She held me just as tightly, our tears mixing on my cheek.

“I love you so much, Mum,” I choked out.

“I love you more, my sweet girl,” she whispered back in a trembling voice. “And I am so, so proud of the woman you’ve become.”

The sun was soft, spilling gold over the garden like it had been told this was our day and dared not, outshine it. Flowers lined both sides of the aisle – roses, lilies, white orchids – blooming that looked too perfect to be real.

Guests were all smiles and teeth as they watched me walk down the aisle.

My arm was tucked into Dad’s warm grip. He was trying to smile for me, and God, I wanted to believe it. But I knew the kind of heaviness he was trying so hard to suppress in order not to ruin my day. And there was this look in his gaze that told me this was as much a goodbye for him as it was a new beginning for me.

“You look… beautiful, princess,” he murmured, forcing another smile.

I bit my lip, trying to hold it together. “Thank you, Dad.”

He gave my hand a gentle squeeze.

I looked ahead and locked gazes with Kester.

Everything else blurred.

He was standing there at the end of the aisle, dark suit fitting him like sin, his broad shoulders squared, and his jaw set in that way that made him look carved from something forbidden. And his eyes… God, those eyes rooted me in place.

Obsession. Admiration. Possession.

It was all there, glinting like wildfire.

He was looking at me like I was the only thing breathing in this garden. Like if anyone so much as blinked in my direction, he’d tear the world apart.

The closer I walked toward him, the hotter and darker his gaze burned.

My pulse pounded. My fingers tightened around Dad’s arm. By the time we reached the end, I could barely feel the ground under my feet.

Dad placed my hand into Kester’s. His warm, hands swallowed mine, and he didn’t take his eyes off me even to acknowledge Kade.

“You made it,” Kester murmured, in a voice low enough for only me to hear.

I smiled faintly. “I was always coming to you.”

Something in his jaw flexed. He lifted my hand and pressed his lips to my knuckles, his eyes still locked on mine.

Everything else blurred for us, as we only paid attention to each other, until the priest announced that it was time to say our vows,

“Alpha Kester Hamilton, do you wish to share your vows?” The priest asked.

Kester’s fingers tightened around mine as he smiled and nodded.

The whole place went quiet.

“Kasmine…” My name came out on a breath, like he’d been holding it in for years. “Do you have any idea what it’s been like… wanting you the way I have? Needing you so bad it felt like my bones would break under it?”

My heart gave a painful thud.

“I’ve spent years with this ache in my chest,” he went on, “Every single day, I fought for the chance to stand right here. I fought your doubts, your fears… hell, I fought you. And I’d do it again. I’d go through every fight, every sleepless night, every moment I thought I’d lost you… just to get to this one.”
