Chapter 89 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

Dacre laughed and patted Khaos’s shoulder. “Of course, you are. You will always find a way, that’s why you are my advisor.”

“But, apparently, you have someone else to advise you.” Khaos nodded at Rose, who approached them, holding hands with two little children. “Why did you bring her here?”

“Nycta can’t have a long journey because of her pregnancy and I need someone else to accompany me.” Dacre winked at Khaos, indicating there was something going on between the two of them, but the latter knew better. “Don’t you want to try her before I hand her over to alpha Logan? She is not bad.”

Khaos had not yet replied that insinuation when Rose was already in front of them with two giggling little girls. They greeted the king and the alpha.

“I will take my in three days.” That was a parting word because Khaos didn’t think there was anything else to say, but Rose actually stopped him.

“Alpha why don’t we have lunch together since you are already here?” Rose gave him her best smile and her face beamed when Khaos smiled back at her.

“I am afraid I have to decline. Zuri has been feeling down because she just lost her brother, so I need to be there to console her.” Another lie and none of them believed that because just this morning they saw Zuri ate her breakfast just fine, she was actually conversing and laughing with Gayle.

Dacre had been asking why he changed his gamma and Khaos just shrugged it off, simply saying that Caiden was no longer capable of doing his job.

“You are a perfect mate, luna Zuri must be lucky to have you as her chosen mate.”

“Yes,” Khaos said with a harmless smile. “She has been telling me how lucky she is every night when we lay down together.”

The answer was rather vulgar and Rose’s face turned very red, she stuttered to find her words, but before she could say anything, the alpha had left.

Actually, Khaos didn’t try to make any insinuation, since that was true that they only laid down together every night.

But tonight, Zuri would lay down alone, chained to the bed, to prevent her from killing yet another magic users, who would put the curses on her.

They agreed to five now, which meant it left them with seven more to go. Seven more curses and everything would be over.

Zuri would be free from the pain and she would start a new life without a memory of him or Rhett, or anything that she had to go through.

If, she survived…

“Are you excited?” Khaos teased Zuri, as they walked hand in hand toward Glenda’s house, the healer. They were not going to do it in the chapel, because it would take a long time to reach there, but they would do the ritual in one of her bedrooms.

All the magic users were already there, so did Rhett.

Zuri still refused to talk to him, because she had this urge to kill him right there and then whenever he was nearby. His betrayal stung.

“Yes, very excited, my heart is going to explode with the excitement,” Zuri replied sarcastically, as she pursed her lips.

“You lose the bet. Next time, try to win.”

Hearing that, Zuri rolled her eyes dramatically. “Let’s get over it,” she said, as she pushed the door opened and found Glenda had been waiting for them, standing in the middle of the room.

However, it was not only Glenda that Zuri saw, but there was Xaden, her mother and father there too. It had been a while, since she saw the three of them. They still looked at her with disappointment, but Zuri had gotten used to it.

‘Poor child, being led for a torture. So stupid like usual.’

‘What I said about man? You let him play with you… you should know better.’

‘Can you see? I am better than him, at least, I didn’t put curse on you.”

“Harder… harder, my king…” Nycta mewled in Killian’s arms, as he thrusted her from behind. He groaned and bit her shoulder before their bodies went still and the creaking sound from inside the bedroom stopped.

Nycta fell on her stomach, she was exhausted, she was sore, but satisfied. It felt like a little revenge in her head whenever she thought right now her sister was doing the same thing with her mate.

She winched when Killian pulled away and started to get dress before he left her alone in the bed, sticky, tired and used.

Tears welled up in her eyes when the quietness inside the room pinned her down. Everything was still and she was naked. She stayed like that for a while until the guilty feeling crept in and she cried.

Whenever she was with Dacre, he would take care of her, he would hug her and kiss her, giving comfort and warm, but with Killian, he would leave right away once the deed was done and in the morning, he would act like the sin they committed during the night had never happened.

It was not like Nycta wanted him to stay, she hated the man, she hated her baby, she didn’t want to be pregnant with his child, but Dacre couldn’t have an heir and this was the only way for them to secure the throne.

She hated the fact Dacre took her sister with him instead of her. She hated the thought and wild imagination she had about what they might be doing right now.

Nycta hated everything.

Her youthfulness and her pregnancy hormone were not a good mix for her to judge the situation she was currently in. Her jealousy and hatred were a good recipe for a disaster.

When she was with Killian, it was not affection, it was a revenge. She took pleasure from it. It was a little victory for her to think she could hurt Dacre the same way he hurt her.

However, the guilty feeling ate her alive.

Nycta touched her private part and felt the stickiness on the tip of her fingers. He got off inside her and it felt like Killian mocked her for their infidelity.

Yet, Nycta was not the only one, who was suffering tonight, because right now, Zuri had to go through five curses. She was tied so tight to prevent what happened the last time. Elijah insisted this.

“Arrghh! Stop! Khaos! Khaos! MAKE THEM STOP!”

She was in the fifth curse, but it hurt like hell, she felt like her skin was being peeled and her eyeballs were going to explode. Her eyes were burned, or that was how it felt. The voices in her head were getting louder, as if these voices alone could claw in her brain.

This was ten thousand more painful than before. She felt like she was going to die. The only thing she could do was screaming on the top of her lungs, calling for Khaos to help her. She wanted this to stop, she was hurt so bad, she begged him to stop this.

There was some point where she lost her ability to sense her surroundings and when she lost her sight, that was when Zuri thrashed her body wildly to the point the rope that tied her left hand snapped, but a hand held her down.

She screamed and screamed and then everything went still.

The darkness pushed her down and the pain suddenly vanished. She finally could breathe again.

Elijah held his bleeding nose, he cowered to the side of the room, trying to avoid the alpha. The head of the magic user trembled in fear under Khaos’s wrath.

“Seven.” The single word that Khaos said sounded menacingly dangerous. He stalked toward Elijah, while the other magic users fell on their knees, scared speechless, even Rhett couldn’t say anything. “We agreed to five, but you put seven.”

“Al… alpha… she could survive eight curses before… she can survive eight more now…” Elijah tried to explain, his nose was bleeding profusely, the blood seeped through his fingers and dripped to the floor, he could smell nothing, but the metallic scent of blood. “She… she will be fine. She is not going to die… we can complete the beauty blood sooner…”

Yes, Khaos was enraged when he learned Elijah and his magic users put seven curses inside Zuri, instead of five like they had agreed upon. They deliberately made a fool of him.

“Is this how your cult showed your loyalty to me?” Khaos’s voice boomed inside the room. This was the next room that they used to perform the ritual, while Glenda checked on Zuri’s condition. She passed out when Elijah was about to inflict the eighth curse, which forced him to cancel it.
