Chapter 107 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

“No.” Killian shook his head. “He didn’t aim for the throne. His aspiration is grandeur than that.”

Dacre shifted his attention toward Killian again. He didn’t understand. “If it’s not the kingdom, what he actually wanted?”

“He aimed for this continent. He wanted the whole continent,” Killian replied, he watched Dacre shook his head.

“That’s not possible.” Dacre laughed dryly. “Are you trying to fool me?” He really despised this. Why would Killian resorted to something ridiculous in his last moment.

“Why not?” Killian raised his chin. He was shackled to the wall with silver chain. He was not beaten, he was not starved, he was treated very well for someone, whose reason to be here was because he fucked the queen. “Tell me why do you think it’s not possible?”

“Can you hear what you said? He can barely defend our kingdom in Three Deadly Ways, do you think he can conquer the three kingdoms?” Dacre scoffed, he didn’t even hold back when he show his disappointment.

However, Killian laughed instead. The only wound on his body was on his wrists and ankles. “You know nothing, don’t you.”

Dacre said nothing, he waited for Killian’s explanation, because he knew there was something big that he was not aware of and Killian was going to tell him. Whether he would believe it or not, he was going to think about it later.

“These whole kingdoms belonged to him. The continent it’s his birthright.”

“Nonsense.”

“Can’t you see that? He is the lycan. He is the last lycan.”

“The lycan is dead. All of the lycan had died three decades ago.” If Killian said Khaos was going to dethrone him and stage a coup, he would believe him in a heartbeat, but say that Khaos was a lycan and he was going to revive the old dynasty, it was too far stretched.

Yet, Killian didn’t seem he was joking, he was very serious, he believed every word he said and Dacre knew him well enough to tell that he took this matter very seriously.

“You are not born with this infertility,” Killian said and his first revelation shook Dacre. He stumbled back with a confused look on his face, though Killian believed he heard him clearly. “The reason why you can’t father your own child is him. Khaos has been working on this for years. To the point the damage is permanent.”

Dacre was having a hard time to believe that, but deep down, he knew it was true. He simply didn’t want to admit it.

“Khaos has never been loyal to you. The only reason why Khaos didn’t seize the throne for himself since the beginning is because he still needs you. You are still useful for him. You are his puppet. Don’t you realize that he has been the one, who made most of all the decision for this kingdom?”

“Because he is my advisor,” Dacre said through his gritted teeth, but Killian shook his head.

“You know better than that.” He looked at him with sad eyes. “I am one of his spies. He put me right beside you to get close to you because… he knew.” There was this bitter smile on Killian’s lips. “‘We’ don’t belong in this kingdom. No one will accept you if they knew, therefore Khaos gave me to you.”

Dacre’s whole body was trembling. He wanted to tell Killian to stop talking, he didn’t want to hear anything anymore, but at the same time, he wanted her to tell him everything. He wanted to know the extent of Khaos’s machination.

He had kept him by his side all this time and trusted him, but everything that he believed, shattered before his eyes, especially with Killian. He had been lied his whole life. Khaos was the reason of his infertility and now Killian was Khaos’s spy.

It was too much for him to handle.

“He let you to become the king because he knew that he could get the throne whenever he wanted it.”

“No way.”

“Do you think what the reason why he couldn’t shift into his beast? Do you think why he has grey eyes? Does he look like the previous king at all? He doesn’t even look like the previous queen.”

The room fell into silent, Killian gave Dacre time to discern this information.

“He is coming to you. His preparation is almost completed,” Killian said dryly.

“Why did you tell me this?”

“Because I cared about you. I know that you are thinking everything is a lie, that you have been lied to for your entire life, but what I felt. What happened between us was real. It’s real for me…”

Killian looked at Dacre, a great sadness in his eyes, as he spoke. In this life, there was no place for them to be together.

In this world full of betrayals and schemes, where people backstabbed one another, he wanted to make it right for Dacre, at least for one last time. He deserved this after everything that he had put him through and his betrayal.

“Don’t lie to me…” Dacre looked angry. He was disappointed.

“Khaos is unable to shift because it will show his lycan form. He has been planning everything since the very beginning.”

“There is no way my father doesn’t know that he has sheltered a lycan child.”

Killian shook his head. “The supporters of lycan’s empire are everywhere, just because you don’t know about them, it doesn’t mean they are not existed.” Killian then talked hastily. He told him about everything that he knew and he hoped this amount of information wouldn’t overwhelmed Dacre and he could grasp everything, since he didn’t think he would have the second chance to have this moment with him again.

Killian then talked about the beauty blood…

“Beauty blood?” Dacre furrowed his brows. He tried to understand what he was talking about, but everything came in rushing inside his mind, as if he was listening to a few people talked at the same time, the information he got from Killian was too much. He didn’t even have time to think whether he could trust it or not. “What do you mean with the beauty blood?”

Killian told him everything that he knew about the beauty blood.

This was why Khaos told Bryden to kill Killian, because the amount of information he had could be a danger for them once his loyalty was swayed and Khaos was right.

However, Bryden made a little mistake. A big one, if one could say. He didn’t order the murder right away. His exact command was for the other man to wait, to see whether he could break Killian out of the cell, or there was a way to salvage his situation.

Because in Bryden’s eyes, Killian’s position was too important. They got a lot of information from him, important and critical one, they also had nurtured him for years to be one of Dacre’s trusted person, someone that he had affection with.

It was a waste if they had to kill Killian, yet, Bryden made a big mistake with his own judgment. He closeness with Khaos made him see the alpha as his friend, just like how Ezra saw Khaos as his own son.

That kind of feeling could be a dangerous thing, since they used a sense of famiality in their relationship. It would only mess the order.

“No way.” Dacre gritted his teeth. “You are imagining thing.” Khaos’s scheme was too great for Dacre to accept, because it meant, he had been fooled thoroughly and he couldn’t accept that, also by accepting what Killian said, it meant he was a cornered dog in the mercy of Khaos’s hand. It was humiliation.

“You need to announce the existence of the lycan. You need to gather your power and join in with the other two kingdoms to go against him. You don’t have any idea his true strength. The supporters from the old dynasty are still loyal to him.”

It was Killian, who was talking the whole time, telling him everything that he knew, anything that he thought it could help Dacre to win against Khaos, even though he knew the chance was very slight, but he wanted Dacre to have an element of surprise, so he could have an upper hand in this battle.

And all Dacre could see was his voice, he didn’t know when he walked out of the cell and went to the queen palace, because when he snapped back to reality, Nycta was cradling his face, staring at him with concern in her eyes.

“What happened? You are so pale. What’s going on?”

Her voice was very soft and gentle and Dacre was too exhausted to comprehend everything else, but her presence. He needed his mate. He needed the comfort, even though it came from someone that had betrayed him.

“Why did you betray me?” Dacre didn’t know why he asked this meaningless question. Whatever the reason, he was not going to forgive her. He was not going to forgive him too. “I have never harbored any thought to be with Rose, why do you think I will be with her?”

He had been loyal to the two of them, he had been loyal to Rimera too when she was alive, he thought he was a better mate for them, but they betrayed him.

“I am sorry…” Nycta cried, she asked for his forgiveness relentlessly. She allowed him to hurt her when he vented out his frustration, hurt and anger when he fucked her roughly.
