Khaos grabbed her body, she was thrashing and didn’t even realize when she clawed his face. Blood dripped from the wound and when she saw the blood, tracing it back to Khaos’s face, her eyes filled with mortification.
“I am sorry… I didn’t mean…”
“It’s okay.” Khaos wiped the blood from his wound, which already closed. “I am fine. What happened?”
Zuri mumbled to herself. “…dead…”
“Who?”
“Me. I am dead… I saw it. I am dead…”
Zuri stared at her own reflection on the mirror, but it was overlapped with the image of herself that she saw in her dream.
In her nightmare, she was very skinny, as if all that left of her was only bones and skin. Her cheeks were hollow and her eyes were too big for her face. She was dying. She didn’t look like herself, but she knew it was her. She was breathing heavily, as if the air was forced out of her lungs.
The very sight of herself was nauseating. She wanted to vomit. But, she had no time for that pity party, there was a war that they had to win.
The royal warriors that were led by the royal gamma Luca had marched toward Greywolf pack and they occupied the first two town in the outskirt of Khaos’s territory.
“What she is doing here?” Ezra looked at Zuri with disagreement when she stepped inside the strategy room.
“Why can’t I be here?” Zuri walked toward the table, where they spread the map of this kingdom. There were a few dots there, that indicated the movement of the royal warriors. From what Zuri’s understanding, the red dots were the royal warriors, while the black ones were their troops.
“Woman is not allowed in this room! Even if you are the luna!” Ezra said through his gritted teeth. “You can leave now.” He still showed his displeasure for having Zuri as the luna of the pack.
Poor him. She was indeed the luna of the pack and there was nothing he could do.
“Anyone has the same thought as him?” Zuri lifted her head and then looked around the table. Caiden and Gayle were the only other people in this room and they didn’t say anything. “Good.” Zuri nodded.
Ezra stared at his son in disbelief, he threw his arms up in his frustration and glared at Zuri, but before he could say anything else, she had chased him out of the room.
“Scram,” Zuri said coldly.
“I am going to tell this to the alpha!”
“Go ahead.” Zuri was nonchalant about it. “Let’s see how I will charm him and appease his anger.”
Ezra had been saying that Zuri had charmed Khaos that the alpha allowed her to do whatever she wanted. The luna was even involved in the strategy plan and was allowed to come and go from the strategy room as she pleased. She could read all the information and report about the battle progress.

Meanwhile, Khaos had gone for two weeks, he went with Dezgar to defend the outskirt of his territory, since the area was an open place and they needed to evacuate the people behind the fortress in Garren Mole city. That city was seven cities away from the pack house.
Under Greywolf pack, there were eight cities and twenty three towns. It was a large area to defend and Ezra had been insisting for the alpha to complete the beauty blood right away, so they would more than enough power to crush the kingdom.
However, Khaos disagreed with that, his reason was; Zuri was still recovering and when Khaos was asked from what Zuri was recovered from, his answer would be; ‘I tired her out last night’, which shut Ezra up and made him growled in frustration with the vulgarity of his answer.
And now, Zuri was suspicious. The fact that Khaos took Dezgar with him, it might be because aside from Elijah, who was now dead, Dezgar was the only one, who could perform the last curse.
“I am not going to talk about battle strategy with a woman!” Ezra spatted. He was being nastier when Khaos was not there. He showed hostility toward Zuri openly without holding back at all.
Zuri could have told Khaos about it, but she chose not to, because it would only give Ezra ammunition to mock her even more for being a tell tale.
“Fine, leave now.” Zuri nodded at the door.
For a moment, Ezra looked at his son and then Gayle, but when the two of them said nothing, he stormed off the room.
“Thank you for staying,” Zuri said to Caiden and Gayle. She was all smile, as if she was enjoying this argumentation. “And chose to side with me.”
“Side with you?” Caiden narrowed his eyes. “Have you forgotten that you threatened us?”
“Oh, yeah…” Zuri acknowledged that lightly, but she mentioned the obvious. “Where are the other warrior leaders? They should be here by now.”
Indeed, Zuri had threatened them that she was so close of losing her patient with Ezra and if they tried anything funny with her, she was going to lost her shit for real.
Zuri had been very upset because Ezra would bother her every step of the way, ever since Khaos left for the battle, he positioned himself as the acting alpha and the leader of this pack.
“I am sure my father has already known that you are going to join this meeting, so he told them not to come.” Caiden shook his head. He had no word to say.
Zuri raised her brows. “So, call them.”
Caiden and Gayle looked at each other, and this time, it was Gayle, who was talking. “Zuri, you don’t know the terrain of this pack. The alpha got this, you don’t need to bother yourself in this matter.”
“My mate is out there, fighting a battle against the king’s warrior and you asked me to do what? Reading a book, while sipping a cup of tea?” Zuri had made a fuss to follow Khaos, but he didn’t allow her to come. She had been very moody about it.
“You know what this is about. They only wanted one solution to end this war, they thought this is unnecessary.”
“They wanted the completion of beauty blood.” Zuri had been the luna of the pack for a month by now and all they saw was a Shell not a luna. “Do you agree with them?”
There was still uncertainty with Wolfdale Kingdom. They didn’t manage to kill all the delegations that Dacre sent away, because apparently, king Amidas was on the way to Celeste kingdom for the union between Rose and alpha Logan.
Bryden did meet with king Amidas, but there was no certain decision yet. Zuri agreed with Khaos that the king from Wolfdale kingdom was playing both sides, he was waiting to see, who had the most advantage and a big chance to win this war.
He thought he was being cunning, but that king was actually being stupid. Who needed an opportunist like that? But, they were going to deal with him later.
“Zuri, you are not war strategist,” Gayle finally said. She was smart, but war was not her strong forte, she had never been in one.
“Do you agree with them?” Zuri emphasized her question.
“You don’t know the terrain of this pack.”
“I know the terrain of Blackthorne pack.” Zuri didn’t let her question go unanswered. “Do you agree with them?”
She didn’t appreciate the way they treated her as if she didn’t exist, as if she was nothing, but an object.
Khaos didn’t want to let her go even after the beauty blood was completed, he made it very clear about it, he backed away from his promise to left her alone and if she was going to live for the rest of her life as his luna, these people had to treat her with the respect she deserved.
“Don’t misunderstand me, as part of this long life mission, I do agree with them. You are supposed to be part of the plan to take down the kingdom. Khaos would get the ultimate power as the alpha with the Three Legacies of the lycan. This is nothing personal.” Gayle then added. “But, I can understand why the alpha is not willing to give you up. If I were on his shoes, I will not do any harm on my mate either.”
“It’s so sweet of you.” Zuri patted Gayle’s shoulder. “Now, call all the other warrior leaders to come here within half an hour.”
