Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 118 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

“Zuri, you don’t understand…”

But, Zuri cut him off. “You are the one, who doesn’t understand. I am Khaos’s mate, which makes me their luna and if we won this battle, I am going to be his queen.” Zuri tilted his head. “Is this how you are going to treat your future queen? People doesn’t change overnight, I need to straighten them out before their disrespect festered and it’s cause another trouble. I am not going to take this disrespect lightly.”

She was raised to be the luna of the pack. Her mother had prepared her for this role in her entire life, because her father wanted it too.

And more importantly, she was the luna of the pack before. She knew how it worked with this kind of people. They were not going to respect you just because you bled for them, just because you gave your life for them, that was not how it worked.

They saw her as a ‘Shell’, an object and Zuri would see them the same. These people were useful and she was going to use them for her own advantage, so long Khaos didn’t want to let her go.

“Go and call them.”

Gayle couldn’t say anything anymore and then left the room, leaving her only with Caiden.

“You have not yet told me what is your answer.” Zuri stared at the map on the table and the red dots. “Do you agree with them?”

Khaos didn’t give Caiden’s title back as the gamma, but he forgave him enough to be in the strategy room.

“I don’t see you as an object if that’s your question is about.” Caiden pulled out a chair and then sat down. “I don’t have any particular feeling about this revenge, if I could be honest. I don’t lose anything when the massacre happened to the old dynasty three decades ago, so I don’t share a deep sentiment like them.”

Caiden had his parents and brothers, he had his own family, thus his sentiment was not as deep like the others.

“But, I have been raised to know that this is a life long mission is very important, more important than your own life and that’s all I know my whole life.”

Rose watched Logan woke up and cleaned himself up before he returned with only towel around his waist.

“We need to talk,” Rose said. She got off the bed and approached him.

They stayed in the same bedroom, but they didn’t sleep on the same bed, Logan refused. He chose the sofa, because he didn’t want to touch her. Hell, Rose thought, he was disgusted by her. The audacity!

If there was someone between them, who were disgusted by the other, it would be her.

“What is it?”

Logan turned around and then faced her when Rose thought he was going to ignore her, thus she was a little bit flustered.

She cleared her throat to regain her composure and gathered the words she wanted to say. “You need to stop acting like this. If you have a problem with me, you need to communicate it. Ignoring me will not solve our problem.”

She was irritated because even after a month, Logan had not yet mated and marked her. She needed to cover her neck for the lack of the alpha’s mark there. This was humiliating. How could someone inferior than her could put her on edge?

For a moment, Logan seemed like he was not going to engage in the conversation, but the next thing he said, changed the entire topic completely.

“The king asked you to come to the palace with me,” Logan said grimly.

“Why only now you told me?” Rose widened her eyes in surprised and she appeared to excited to his liking.

“What is the relationship between you and the king?” The question laced in accusatory tone.

“Are you accusing me of something?” Rose couldn’t help, but took defensive stance and it didn’t go unnoticed by Logan, of course, it didn’t please him at all.

“I didn’t accuse you of anything, I ask why the king needed you and why did you come to River Creek pack before?”

“The king needed my help and I was helping him to appease the people there. The problem with the food supply made people anxious.”

Logan narrowed his eyes, which made Rose tensed up, she thought he was going to ask more questions, but as it turned out, he only shook his head and then waved his hand.

“We will leave in ten minutes.”

And that was all before he left the room, leaving Rose bewildered with his nonchalant attitude. She couldn’t understand him. He didn’t touch her, but he didn’t go to the brothel either. She could understand if he went there, what men would pass the opportunity to get a little bit pleasure?

But, as far as Rose knew, he didn’t.

Or… maybe he didn’t like woman? Just like the king…

Rose shook her head. She was being overthinking lately.

There were three warrior leaders, who reported back to Zuri, they were presence in the strategy room the next day, even though Ezra didn’t make an appearance. He still disagreed with Zuri to be there.

Caiden couldn’t talk sense to his father either.

“If you keep doing this, you are going to anger the alpha. You have committed a mistake once, I don’t think Khaos will let you leave unscathed the next time.”

Ezra glowered at his son. “So, you took her side,” he hissed viciously. “You are a disappointment. I thought my first born will be better than this.”

Caiden took a deep breath, it was not the first time his father expressed his disappointment on him, but it didn’t mean it was not stung. It still hurt him.

“I expected to have a better father than you too. You are not the only disappointed here.”

“Caiden!” Mabel yelled at him, she widened her eyes, horrified with the word that Caiden said and a slap landed on his face.

The slap came from Ezra. His claws must have accidentally emerged, because his cheek bled. Or maybe, his father did intend to hurt him.

“Watch your mouth!”

Caiden casually wiped the blood, as his wound healed. He nodded at his father solemnly, as if there was nothing happened. “I have a meeting to attend. I will take my leave now.”

He didn’t wait for Ezra’s permission to leave, as he walked out of the room, but outside, he saw the twin and Rian.

“Did you fight with father again?” Mave asked. He glanced from the closed door to Caiden, his little face contorted.

“You are bleeding.” Otis pointed it out the blood on his cheek.

“I am fine.” Caiden wiped the blood more thoroughly this time. “Don’t anger father, okay? I don’t want he scolded you.”

The twin and Rian walked with Caiden, until he reached the strategy room and he shooed them away to play somewhere else.

Two days later, Rhett came with his warriors, he brought five thousand warriors with him and met with Zuri. They spent a whole day to talk about the battle that took place in Garren Mole city. Khaos managed to win the battle there and he was going to march to Blackthorne pack’s territory.
