She didn’t know…
Everything was uncertain, but also undoubted at the same time.

Khaos opened his eyes, the sky was still dark out there and Zuri was sleeping right now beside him. There was stain of blood on the bed and on him, while a few small wound on her shoulder and arms.
She liked it rough, but the problem was; she couldn’t heal properly after this and she didn’t like it whenever Khaos treated her like a fragile thing. She wanted it hurt. She was being intimate with pain.
Gently he licked the wound on her shoulder and she let out a small moan subconsciously, he caressed her head to ease her to sleep again, as he licked her other wound on her arms, waist and her thighs. He didn’t know they would be this bad, since Zuri kept egging him to hurt her more.
One all of the wounds had gotten his attention, carefully, Khaos pulled the blanket and covered her naked body,
After that, Khaos went out of the bed after he mindlinked Caiden and Gayle to come over. Both of them yawned when Khaos opened the door and found them waiting for him in the hallway.
“I just fell asleep for an hour after committing ‘murder’, you know. At least, give me time to rest. I have traumatized.” Caiden stretched his body. He was not in the mood to receive any order.
He wanted to say that he was no longer his gamma, simply to remind Khaos, but he held back his tongue before Khaos really killed him for good.
“I want that woman,” Khaos said.
“What woman?” Both Caidan and Gayle’s sleepiness disappeared when Khaos mentioned he wanted a woman. It was not like him at all.
Did he have a big fight with Zuri?
Lucas looked at Khaos with disapproving look. He often came and gone to deliver the information that Khaos wanted him to gather.
Somehow, this lycan managed to make him his personal informant and for some reason, he allowed him to do so.
Lucas couldn’t tell that he did this because Khaos ‘threatened’ him with his little brother, because that was not true. His young brother was willing to be kidnaped by him and actually was happy to be there.
In one way or another, Khaos had turned his ‘threat’ into his willingness to work for him and this still irritated Lucas, yet he couldn’t complain.
“Is this your new habit to kidnap someone?” Lucas grimaced to see the woman, who was curling herself on the floor, at the corner of the room, she kept talking to herself and looked so scared. The only comprehend word that Lucas could hear was ‘Lorent’. The name of her mate. “Yes, she is Giana Terrence. The younger sister of Gaia. Are you sure she is also a Shell?”
Lucas had learned about it and now he got the full picture of the relation between them, though Khaos wouldn’t allow him to read the scriptures, not like he could read them anyway.
Gaia was Rhett’s mother, which made Giana was his aunt, but he had never said anything about it. From the information that Khaos gathered from Lucas, Rhett’s maternal family tried to create another beauty blood.
They stopped with Giana probably because they already had Zuri, who was stronger than their daughter, or probably because Giana was under the protection of Lorent, who was part of the royal family, since she was his destined mate, so Lorent managed to put stop to the ritual and take her with him.
Yet, Rhett had never mentioned about another Shell aside from Zuri. Khaos didn’t trust that bastard since the beginning, especially when he couldn’t tell, who was the true leader of the cult.
Rhett couldn’t be the leader, he was smart, but he was too young to initiate the beauty blood on Zuri and with the revelation of Giana, Khaos knew this ritual had happened since the old dynasty still existed. The cult already existed ever since that time.
Terrence family was the center of the cult and Khaos had no doubt about that, but who was the leader?
At this point, Khaos was fighting so many battles within his own people, or those, who called them the loyalist of the lycan.
“I want you to keep your eyes on Terrence family.” Khaos waved his hand to dismiss Lucas, but he asked him to call Dezgar to come over.
“You hide her. Did you hide her from your mate too?” Lucas didn’t immediately leave, he couldn’t stop himself from asking this question. “Why?”
The answer was very obvious. Zuri had a soft spot for Giana. He knew that the moment she talked about her. He knew that the moment she asked him whether he would stop the ritual for the beauty blood.
Zuri looked at herself in Giana.
For other people, Zuri might be hard to read, but for Khaos, she was like an open book. She would agree with his decision to make the completion of the beauty blood on Giana, but at what cost?
She had started spiraling recently.
More so, there was no benefit for her to know and there was no harm for her to be kept in the dark. It would save her conscience.
And more importantly, it would shut Ezra up about completing the beauty blood. He got what he wanted.
Khaos was fighting battles in so many fronts right now, just to keep Zuri safe. Including deceiving her. She didn’t need to know the thing that would only bother her and put her in spiral.
“Call Dezgar here on your way out.”
Lucas scowled. “What is it? You can’t even share that information with me? I thought we have grown closer.”
“I don’t have any intention to be close to you.”
Grumbling, Lucas walked out of the room and not long after, Dezgar came inside. His eyes trained to the woman that curled herself at the corner of the room.
Khaos used different room from his shared bedroom with Zuri, but it wouldn’t take long, because he was going to cart the woman with him once they left the palace to Three Deadly Ways. He was going to claim the Great Palace.
“That’s…” Dezgar widened his eyes.
“You knew her.” That was not an accusation, but a statement. Khaos intentionally didn’t say anything, until he spotted Giana, but apparently, he noticed her presence almost immediately and from the look of his reaction, he knew what this woman was. “You knew she is a Shell like Zuri.”
Dezgar looked uncomfortable. “Yes, I knew her. The first time I trained with Elijah, I put the curse on her.”
“Sixty eight curses. She already has sixty eight curses on her,” Khaos informed Dezgar. “I want you to complete the beauty blood on her.”
“But, my king…” Dezgar looked hesitated. “She has thirty one curses left, which is the queen only needs one more. More so, she is not as strong as the queen.” He tried to lay out the logic of the situation.
Logically speaking, Dezgar was right.
But, Khaos was not trying to be logical here. All logic was thrown out of the window when it involved Zuri.
“She is alive. She will be fine.”
“She is going to lose her mind.”
“Should that deter me?”
Did Khaos care whether this woman lost her mind? The answer was obvious. He couldn’t care less what happened to this woman as long as he got his beauty blood completed and Ezgar could stop breathing down his neck and aimed whatever scheme he had in his mind to Zuri.
“I want her to be ready as soon as possible.” Khaos’s voice left with no room for negotiation.
