‘After all, you got off with the pain. I shouldn’t have felt bad when I hurt you when I fucked you, because that was how you like it, right?’
That was what Xaden said to Zuri.
And while she was struggling when she had to deal with Xaden’s mocking voice, the carriage stopped and Lorent entered, he approached Zuri. He looked very livid. He knew that Khaos had followed him and he was not going to let him have his way.
After all, he was the advisor for the king. One trait that you had to have when you were an advisor for the king would be the ability to scheming, you need to be very cunning.
You could say Lorent was like Khaos for this case because he was the mastermind behind how the Kingdom operated.
“Take off your clothes,” He said and Zuri laughed at him.
“Take off my clothes?” She scowled derisively at him. “Can’t you see my hands are tied together? How do you expect me to take off my clothes, stupid? Zuri blurted out profanities, as she glared at him and Xaden laughed.
‘It’s not only me, who wanted to see you naked.’
Zuri ignored that comment, but Xaden looked at her with amusement and admiration but also disgust. He disgusted her, but at the same time, he only lived in her mind, so there was nothing he could do about it.
Meanwhile, Lorent looked livid. He was enraged, which caused him to breath unevenly. He didn’t appreciate the name calling, but then he didn’t have time for the pettiness. That was why he immediately released her hands from the restraint with a threat.
“If you dare to do something funny, I am going to kill you. Forget about meeting with Khaos, you are not going to meet anyone else, if you try to run away from me.”
Zuri heard that, but she said nothing. She waited until Lorent released her hands.
“Now take off your clothes.”
Zuri didn’t need to ask why this man was very vulgar and wanted her to take off her clothes. He must have wanted to distracted Khaos by tricking him, so he couldn’t follow them, but Zuri wouldn’t let him do that.
The moment he released her hand, she immediately clawed his eyes. He attacked his eyes first because it would immobilize him. That was what Gayle had taught her when they were in training a few months ago.
It worked, and when Lorent was screaming profanity at her, she kicked him away and immediately jumped out from the carriage.
Zuri ran away as fast as she could because the pain from the silver prevented her from shifting into her beast, which was pretty inconvenience because she could be caught anytime soon, since she didn’t have the ability to outrun them in her current condition.
Her only chance was to run away from them, but it would be hard to outrun the warriors, as they had shifted into their beasts. To come after her.
Zuri ran as fast as her leg could take her, but it only a matter of time before they caught up to her. Her breathing became so heavy, the air refused to enter her burning lungs. And right now, they were already here.
They surrounded her and was ready to take her down. They were ready to kill her for what she had done to Lorent.
“No! Stop!”
Lorent shifted back into his human form, stopping them from attacking Zuri at once, since they were very angry at this woman.
“I want her alive.” Because no matter what, his mate was still in Khaos hand.
To Zuri’s annoyance, Lorent’s eyes had healed. She really needed to gauge them out instead only clawing at them.
“Come here peacefully, Zuri. You only wasted your time. I am not going to hurt you,” Lorent said assertively.
“Should I be grateful for that?” Zuri gritted her teeth, her hands were hurt so bad whenever she moved them. Blood still trickled down on the ground.
Zuri couldn’t understand Lorent’s true motive.
If his mate was in Khaos’ hands, why wouldn’t he wanted to meet with him and exchange her with his mate?
Wasn’t that the most logical thing to do? If he really cared for his mate, he should have found a way to get her back, right?
Why would he do this and put everything in jeopardy? The more he angered Khaos, the more he put everything at risk. It didn’t make sense for Zuri.
However, She didn’t have the opportunity to ask that and it was not like Lorent would answer her question.
Right now, Zuri was facing three beasts and four warriors. The end of this fight would be obvious. She could try to fight them all. She was not going to go down without a fight. But, it was obvious that she didn’t stand a chance to fight them all.
Yet, at the very least, she could buy some time for Khaos to be able to reach her. To get closer to her. This was her last option.
“Don’t even think about that, Zuri,” Lorent said darkly. He approached her carefully like he did a confused beast. “You will only hurt yourself.”
Zuri didn’t hear his warning and started to launch an attack toward these people. She tried to shift, but the pain from the silver chain prevented her.
However, the fight didn’t last for long, because it was done in less than 5 minutes, since Zuri was extremely tired and in so much pain, she couldn’t heal from the wound, and now one of the warriors had clawed her stomach where it was bleeding profusely, rendered her unable to move.
She couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t even scream. She curled her body on the ground, the caused her ears were ringing. The pain was too much and she was dehydrated, hungry and worn off, since Lauren didn’t really give her food.
He wanted her to be as weak as possible so she could only barely alive without any strength to fight back. He accomplished that wonderfully.
This damned man really needed to be killed.
“I told you not to fight me back.” Lorent approached Zuri and caressed her cheeks. He ordered the warriors to clean up the mess and use Zuri’s blood to enhance her scent, so Khaos would follow them without any suspicion. “You wouldn’t be in this pain if you simply listen to me.”
Lorent looked callous at the pain that Zuri suffered, she writhed her body, as her blood kept oozing out from the wound on her stomach. He took Zuri away, back to the carriage.
She didn’t run too far since her exhausted body couldn’t bear it.
Once they were back to the carriage, Lorent stripped off her from her dress. He even stripped her from her underwear which leaving her naked. But after that, Lauren immediately took off his own cloak and put it over her body to cover her nakedness and mask her scent.
After that Lorent took a horse and ordered his warrior to follow this path with Zuri dress. They would act as a decoy for Khaos, so the lycan would think Zuri was still with them while Lorent was actually taking Zuri to take different path.
However, Zuri kept struggling, she kept fighting him and it would be difficult for Lorent to take her peacefully.
“Stop it, Zuri. You will not accomplish anything by fighting me.” Lorent pressed her body against his chest, as she was sitting in front of him, but his hand found the wet blood on her stomach. She was still bleeding, normally, these wounds should have healed.
“I swear, I am going to kill you, Lorent. Khaos will tear you apart and I will enjoy watching it.”
Lorent couldn’t care less with that threat, but he wondered why Zuri was still bleeding. She tried to claw him, but he dodged it easily.
With how unwilling Zuri to cooperate with him, he didn’t have another choice, Lorent finally pulled something from his pocket and somehow Zuri realized what it was.
She noticed that because she had seen it before. Princess Lyra had used it and now that drug was in Lorent’s possession. He then asked one of the warriors with him to light it up and when the smoke appeared he force Zuri to breathe in it.
At first, Zuri fought him like crazy. She knew what would happen and she didn’t want that for herself.
