However, he couldn’t do anything since it was Declan who had the last say in this plan.
“How will you bring this up with Logan?” Declan asked. He lifted his chin up and felt satisfied with the result.
“King.”
“What?”
“King Logan,” Rose corrected him. “This is the beginning of our cooperation, so I need you to show your respect or else we can cancel the entire agreement. I will not allow others to look down on my mate.”
Just because she was the one, who pulled the real power, it didn’t mean Rose would allow anyone to disrespect her mate and call him casually.
Declan was silence for a while, but then he nodded. “My mistake. I am sorry for being too arrogant.” He was not in the position, where he could force his way and as someone, who had led the cult, he knew how to choose his battle. “King Logan. I didn’t mean disrespect.”
Rose nodded, she was rather satisfied that Declan was not being stubborn for no reason. “You don’t need to worry about that.”

“What do you mean with that?!”
Logan looked at Rose with horror in his eyes. His gaze hardened. He couldn’t believe with what Rose just said to him right now. She said it very casually, as if she was talking about the weather.
“I will not have another coup. It has been only less than a year since we faced a gruesome war and I will not take my people for another war, especially against the lycan. Do you even have any idea how strong the lycan is after the completion of the beauty blood, after he received all the ultimate power of the lycan? Do you have any idea about that?”
Logan was very angry with the suggestion. But, one thing that he was wrong about, was; this was not only a suggestion, but actually it was already a plan in motion.
“I know.” Rose came closer toward him. This would be the annoying part for the whole plan, trying to convince Logan that they were doing the right thing. “I know, but you need to listen to me.”
“No, I don’t want to listen to you.”
The moon shone brightly in the night sky and the king and queen should have been sleeping around this time, yet Rose decided to have this conversation right before they fell asleep.
The secret meeting between Rose and Declan itself happened 2 days ago. Where Declan just escaped from the Great Palace and right now Rose got the information about the wrath of the lycan upon learning that his men had betrayed him and helped Declan with his escape.
He killed all the warrior involved and the situation in the Great Palace was very tensed right now.
“Have you forgotten what the lycan could do? Even without his warriors, with his current power, he is more than able to kill us in our sleep.” He was not going to take that risk.
Logan was right. He had seen what happened to the people, who received the end of the lycan’s wrath. And at that time Khaos had not yet received the power. Even more now Logan didn’t want to be the receiving end of his wreath.
He wouldn’t survive, Rose wouldn’t survive such a rage even though they were the king and queen of this Kingdom, but the ultimate power was in Khaos.
Logan stare at Rose. He admired this woman, he loved her, and he was attached to her since she was his mate. After all, she was the woman that put him on the throne, whether he liked it or not, he needed to admit that.
However, at the same time, he hated her since she was too ambitious, clever and cunning for her own good.
This kind of feeling was hard to describe. He couldn’t say what his actual feeling for Rose was.
“You need to agree with this.” Rose was still calm, even though Logan looked very distraught right now. “Do you think Khaos will be a good leader for this Kingdom? He will not be a great king for this Kingdom.”
Rose stretched out her hand to touch him, but the man swatted her hand away. He didn’t want her to touch him because he knew he would give in. After all, this was how it always happened. Rose would find a way of how to convince him so he could see her perspective.
And to his dismay, everything she said did make sense and it hurt his ego. Yet, he couldn’t deny the truth in her words, since he knew he couldn’t do better than her, and that fact hurt him so much.
He wanted to be in charge, to prove that he was right, that he could play his role as the king of this kingdom, not only a puppet to the queen, that he was a true king. He didn’t need Rose to tell him what to do. Yet that never happened.
“He lets Zuri killed his own people. That’s not right,” Rose said wisely.
“Logan, Khaos is not in his right mind.” Rose’s voice was very soft, as if she was talking to a little child, it was soothing and comforting.
“Whatever happened during the completion of the beauty blood and whatever the darkness that has inflicted on Zuri, it must have infected Khaos too, because right now he is too crazy to handle such power. He can destroy the entire realm on his own, if we let him.”
“His goal is to unite the three kingdoms.”
Rose shook her head. Logan could be out of touch from reality sometime, since he wanted to keep peace. This was the kind of beta he was and now he became that kind of king. At time, this could be very frustrating for her.
“If he really wanted to unite the three kingdoms, he would have done something after the completion of the beauty blood, but it has been more than half a year, yet he didn’t do anything. Warrior under him are restless and their number has been dwindling because apparently the queen has been killing them off one by one.”
Logan said nothing, he knew about that too. Khaos’s focus was on his mate.
“What if they came to us? What if they were crazy enough to kill us?”
“They are not going to do that. You are being paranoid.”
“From the look of it, it was a possibility. And what are you going to do to prevent that?”
Logan shook his head. “Your assumption is too wild. We can’t start something like bold like a coup. Do you even know how strong the lycan is right now?”
Logan looked frustrated. Rose was very adamant to this and he knew at one point, he would give in. She would be able to talk him down and once again, compliant with her demand, especially now when she looked determined.
“What are you going to do? Even Dacre couldn’t stand a chance against Khaos. At that time, Khaos has not yet completed the beauty blood and what chance do you have right now?”
“No, this is different.” Rose shook her head, she looked calm and was in control. One of the qualities that Logan loved about her. “Right now, the Terrence family will help. Do you know about Terrance family? I have told you about them before.”
“No.” Logan knew. He simply didn’t want to continue this conversation, but instead, Rose explained it again to him without any hint of annoyance.
“This is a family of magic users. There are a few magic users within Terrence’s family that Khaos didn’t know about.”
After all, Rose had tried to use the Terrence family’s magic users as her last ditch of effort to help Dacre, yet that man refused. That was the turning point for Rose to determine that Dacre was not worth of her effort.
“And right now they agreed to help us. I have been in contact with my brother. Eyren. He agreed to help.”
“What? You have been in contact with the king of Wolfdale kingdom? Do you know that a treason?”
“How could that be a treason? Who I betrayed? I stand for this Celeste Kingdom, even though I wasn’t born from this Kingdom. But you, as my mate, is the king. So, I see the Kingdom as my own and I will defend it no matter what, because I love you. Because I know you love this Kingdom too. You will not let Khaos to destroy it, especially by someone unhinged like the Lycan.”
Logan shook his head. He knew what Rose was right, but somehow, he couldn’t bring himself to agree with her. It was a terrifying plan. He was not going to put their life in danger over some wile assumptions.
“Have you forgotten what Khaos is capable of doing?”
“He could only do that because the cult helped him, because he had a few a dozen of magic users with him and he had hundred thousand of warriors who were loyal to him. But do you know what? They are not with him anymore. They wanted another leader for this Kingdom. Khaos had killed his own warriors. He let his mate killed his own People.”
