Chapter 185 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

“Why don’t we use the attachment between Khaos and his mate?” He had the audacity to tell Bairone to use the mate bond between Khaos and Zuri for their own advantage. “Why don’t we get that woman? We can use that woman for our own advantage.”

Bairone shifted his attention from the treasure before his eyes to the idiocy of his brother.

“We are not only be able to possess the wealth of the old dynasty, but we will also have the power that no one can ever match, not even the shifters. We will be able to fight the Great Lunar Kingdom and control them with less victim in our part. We can use the lycan to fight for us as long as we have his mate.”

Bairone looked at Ralph and the craziness in his eyes. He knew that his half brother was always a greedy person, but this time he had crossed the line, because no one in their right mind would think it was a great idea to cross Khaos no matter what the reason.

Especially, after what they had witnessed of what the lycan could do.

“You will not be able to control the lycan.”

“Yes. But you know, his woman is addicted to drugs. It means she can’t live without it and we have the drug. If we can control that woman, then we can control him.” Ralph looked even more excited with his own idea. “Can you imagine the power that we will have if we are able to have control over the Lycan?”

Bairone shook his head. “Don’t even think about that. We will not mess with the lycan. With these treasures, it’s only a matter of time before this continent is within our grasp. We have won this war and I don’t want to fight Khaos, do you understand?”

His half brother could be dumb. He was too greedy for his own good, but at the same time he was still his family, back in their continent, you took care of your own family. That was how they were raised.

More so, Bairone could understand the temptation of the power. He also knew how it felt to have that kind of power.

It was indeed very tempting.

If they could handle the lycan, then taking control of the rest of the continent would be as easy as you flip a coin.

However, Ralph had never met Khaos personally, so he didn’t have any idea what kind of person Khaos was. He didn’t know.

He didn’t understand the immense feeling that you felt whenever you were close to him. It was unbearable.

In a simple glance, you knew a creature like Khaos was not someone that you wanted to mess with.

“Fine, fine, I do understand. You don’t need to glare at me like that.” Ralph gave his half brother a dirty look.

However, Bairone knew Ralph wouldn’t drop the subject easily. But, at this moment, it didn’t matter. He had the power of the old dynasty right now.

“You know, something is missing here. The Scriptures. The scriptures of the lycan, the scripture to get the power that Khaos possessed is not here. The Scriptures are gone.”

Bairone nodded his head. “I know.” He could understand that the scriptures were not like these treasures. “The Lycan must have taken them with him.” That was all he said.

And now, when the three Kingdoms were in chaos, people started to ask where Khaos actually was. After all, it was the lycan, who had created the mayhem and threw the continent off the balance, yet he disappeared when he was so close to achieving his goal.

Where he had gone? Where he had taken his mate? He couldn’t stay on this continent because the three kingdoms were not a safe place for him and Zuri.

Declan was put in the cell, he had his arms cut off, so he wouldn’t be able to perform magic anymore, while the rest of the magic users that came with him had met with their demise.

Bairone kept his word, he didn’t take prisoners, yet he was curious about the power that Declan held and also his family. Their long history with the lycan intrigued the merchant, especially when the scriptures of the lycan had gone missing.

Bairone wouldn’t cross Khaos, but it didn’t mean, it would stop him from learning about the lycan dynasty.

Currently, Declan was sitting at the corner of this dark cell with Rhett, who was sitting at the other corner with complete arms.

Both Declan and Rhett said nothing and didn’t even acknowledge each other. They stayed like that until they felt the wind turned colder and the shadow that crept on the wall formed a figure.

It was Khaos.

The brothers lifted their heads and watched wide eyed when the lycan stood before them.

Inside this dark and cold dungeon, they saw Khaos’s figure emerge from the dark’s shadow, and then he stood in front of Declan.

Right now, the man was a mess. He couldn’t perform any magic anymore. He was nothing but a useless piece of a man.

Meanwhile, Rhett who watched the two of them didn’t seem surprised to see Khaos was there. His expression didn’t change when the lycan approached Declan.

The lycan tilted his head as if he was thinking of what he was going to do to Declan. Obviously, he was done for.

There was no way he could get out of this situation alive and unscathed.

“I have told him to take no prisoners, but apparently he didn’t hear me well.” Khaos stared at Declan while the other party stared back at him, his face contorted with pain.

The silver anklet that was put around his ankle prevented him from shifting and to heal himself quickly after they cut off his arms.

“Apparently, he indeed didn’t listen to you,” Declan said in a hoarse voice, you could feel the pain only by hearing him.

The shadow behind Khaos moved as if it were a living creature that was waiting for its owner to give an order.

Declan knew his death was near, thus he had nothing to fear. He said everything that he wanted to tell Khaos about how shitty he was and how he was the one who had helped him to get his power, but this was how he repaid him after he lost so many people and all the efforts that he put into the lycan’s goal.

“They saved the wrong baby. You should be ashamed of what you have done. You are so close to your goal, but you threw it all away only for a pussy.”

Khaos’s shadow crept on the floor, moving slowly toward Declan. The intention of it was very obvious. Khaos simply let Declan blaber whatever he liked, to show him how desperate he was.

“They shouldn’t have saved you just because you have the bloodline of the lycan king. Any lycan would have been better than you. Even the lowest rank one.”

Even the lowest rank of the lycan was still part of the royal. It just happened that Khaos was the firstborn of the lycan king.

“You are a disgrace for your kind. All of your predecessors would have cursed you! You are not worthy to be saved. You should be ashamed of yourself, your family and all the people, who had sacrificed their lives in order to save yours. All of the people, who entrusted their vengeance on you.”

The shadow now engulfed half of Declan’s body and his words became even more vicious than before. He was desperate to make Khaos feel bad.

“You ruined so many people’s lives and now when you are so close to your goal, you threw everything. You make all of their sacrifices in vain. They sacrificed their lives for nothing!”

Declan had a lot of things to say, but he had not enough time, since the shadow had covered his body and now it crept to his face and shallow the rest of his complaint.
