Chapter 187 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

“We don’t accept more members on this ship.”

“This ship is big enough to accommodate a hundred of me.”

“One of you is already too much, I don’t need a hundred.”

That was the last argument that Khaos heard before their voices dimmed as he walked away from them. He went to the second deck, where Zuri stayed.

The first sight he got when he opened the door was his mate, sitting on the edge of the bed and staring blankly at him.

“How are you feeling?” Khaos asked, he approached her and kissed her forehead. Her scent changed.

With the death of her wolf spirit, her scent altered as well. She looked at ease but confused as well.

“Weird…” Zuri replied, she stared at her hand. “I still feel like I lost something precious…”

“You don’t lose anything, Zia.”

Zuri lifted her head and stared at him with a frown. “That doesn’t sound like my name.”

“That’s your name, love.”

There was one way to help with Zuri’s dire condition and Dezgar came up with the idea. Obviously, Khaos would agree. The lycan would do anything and choose whatever option he had to save his mate.

And that option was to kill Zuri’s wolf spirit.

Dezgar would put all the brunt on Zuri’s wolf spirit. Not only did they erase her memories, they also made sure, she wouldn’t be able to shift into her beast anymore.

Zuri didn’t need to shift into her beast. In the new life that Khaos had prepared for her, she was not a shifter, only a normal human, the wife of the merchant.

His wife.

She was his mate and now she was his wife. Whatever the circumstance, she would always be his.

“Zia…” She tasted the word with a frown. It felt strange for her… she still couldn’t recall what her name actually was, but she was sure it was not ‘Zia’.

This man lied to her, but she couldn’t prove it otherwise, since she was unable to remember anything.

“You are confused because you forget who you are…” Khaos approached her and hugged her carefully as if he was holding a precious thing, he was afraid that he would break her, knowing he was more than capable of doing so.

Right now, Khaos had better control over the shadow. He could hide it from her. In her eyes, they were only two normal merchants, a couple, who travelled together.

It was not hard for Khaos to create such life, since his alternate identity was a merchant. He indeed handed over the lycan’s treasures to Bairone, but even without that, he had built his own empire on the other continent.

“Gale…” she said, calling his name.

“Hm?”

“That name doesn’t suit you…”

Khaos laughed when he heard that. She could be very random with her comment. “So, what do you think is the name that suits me best?”

She yawned and leaned her head against his shoulder. “I don’t know… something old like…”

“Like what?” Khaos coaxed her gently before she fell asleep.

“…something like… something chaotic suit you…”

After saying that, she closed her eyes and fell asleep. A second later, Dezgar entered the room. He was the reason she felt this sudden and strong feeling of sleepiness.

“We can’t completely erase her memories. It has been rooted deep in her mind.” Dezgar approached them, as Khaos laid her down on the bed.

“Do your best to make her feel comfortable,” Khaos said. He kissed her forehead and stepped back, letting Dezgar do his job to make this reality more real for her.

The magic user sat down on the edge of the bed, he took her hand and immediately felt Khaos’s sharp glare on the back of his head. If he did something wrong, it went without saying that he would be one of Khaos’s ‘collections’.

Yet, Dezgar couldn’t help it. “You know that you are deceiving her, right? This is not exactly what she wanted.”

Because Dezgar didn’t get the answer, he gathered his courage to turn his body around and looked at the lycan. His expression didn’t change, but there was this unreadable emotion in his red eyes.

“She has been manipulated her whole life and you are going to do the same to her right now.”

“She will not survive alone.”

Dezgar nodded when he heard that statement. Khaos was right. “You are right. At this point, she will not be able to survive alone.” But he added. “Even so, it doesn’t mean you don’t manipulate her.”

Khaos knew that.

However, he couldn’t let her go…

He could give up everything, literally everything… but not her… it would never be her…

“She is willing to be manipulated by me.” After all, she was well aware of that. She knew he used her and was willing to go on with that fact…

She chose to stay with him.

That was her fault for choosing to be with him, for thinking he was the better option and now Khaos would never let her go…

As selfish as it sounded, as bad as it might be, he wouldn’t let her go.

Mate bond or not, she was tied to him for the rest of her existence, even after that…

“… should I change my name if you didn’t feel it?” Khaos asked, he played with her hair, as they heard the sound of the sea.

Currently, they were outside, blanketed by the night sky and dark ocean. She snuggled against his chest, while he hugged her tightly. She looked a little bit pale.

It had been eight days they were in the ocean and she became sick of seeing the water that surrounded them.

‘I don’t want to travel by sea anymore.’ She said that one night after she finished her food, whining about when the weather.
