‘Wow’ Madelyn mouthed
‘Impressed?’ Koda teased her ‘You should be, we’re very impressive’
‘Is one of your powers the ability to grow a big head?’ She smirked and I laughed.
‘No, that grows on its own’ I commented.
We joked around after that, it was so fun having her with us for breakfast, I made sure she tried everything, she mentioned that she’d only ever eaten some of the items we’d cooked, and I wanted her to experience everything.
Finally my stupid alarm went off and cut my time with her short, so we all left the suite together.
It wasn’t fare that Koda won that stupid bet, I should have known better, it would have been his morning to go to the meeting and I would have gotten to stay with our girl.
‘Have a great day’ I said once we got into the elevator and I pressed the button for the office suites ‘And make sure you get everything you need, don’t deny yourself because you’re worried about the cost, if you need it then get it, no, if you want it then get it’
‘Okay’ She smiled, but I was suspicious she wouldn’t so I turned to Koda.
‘Make sure’
‘I’m on it, just chill’
He placed his arm over her shoulders and pulled her closer with a smug look on his stupid face.
‘You just go to work’ He taunted me ‘I will worry about Maddie’
I growled playfully and shoved him before pulling her back into my arms and hugging her tightly.
‘I will miss you, but I’ll see you this evening’
‘Ok’ She said softly as I pulled her face up and kissed her, but when I remembered that I wouldn’t get to kiss her again for hours, I pushed her up against the wall of the elevator and kissed her until she was moaning in pleasure.
I heard the elevator doors open and the sound of people walking around, so I pulled back reluctantly and looked down at her flushed face and tempting wet lips.
‘Bye’ I exhaled and looked at my brother ‘Take care of her’
‘Just get out’ He rolled his eyes ‘I don’t need you to tell me to take care of my mate, now go’
I pouted like a child and got out of the elevator.
‘I will see you later, love’
‘Bye’ She waved to me as Koda hugged her from behind and winked at me to taunt me.
‘You just wait’ I linked him as the doors closed ‘I will get even’
Koda just laughed and cut the link
MADELYNS POV
Koda took my hand and led me out of their private elevator on the ground level.
He had been quiet as we rode down the tower, but he gently made patterns on my skin using his thumb and I felt at ease.
I enjoyed being in the small space with him, his scent filled the area, and it soothed me, I had been feeling very nervous about being seen with him in public.
What would people think when they saw us together, would they know we were mates, would they think I was good enough, would they wonder why I wasn’t marked, would they wonder why I hadn’t marked Koda.
I looked down at my feet nervously and tried not to have a panic attack, and just like that, my relaxed mood vanished.
I wasn’t good enough to be by Koda’s or Jaxsons sides and I knew eventually they’d see it and despite what they’d said to me at breakfast, I knew they would some day they’d reject me.
They said they wanted me but they didn’t know the real me yet, I was dull and boring, and I didn’t know anything about ruling or have anything of value to give them, not to mention that I was a murderer.
The things Alpha Troy had forced me to do would come out eventually and the twins would be disgusted.
Should I try to leave now before I saw the disappointment in their eyes, I couldn’t stand it if they looked at me like everyone else in my old pack did.
‘Maddie?’ Koda tugged on my hand and I realized I’d stopped walking, and he was waiting for me to follow.
‘Im sorry’ I said quickly, and started walking again ‘I was just thinking about something’
‘Do you want to talk about it?’
I shook my head and stepped closer to him nervously as we wandered out into the lobby.
The lobby was filled with pack members already, each off to do various tasks or to start work for the day.
I noticed a few of the women looking at Koda with interest before looking at me in confusion, I shyly tried to pull my hand free from my mate, but he growled softly at me in warning and tightened his grip.
‘Don’t even try’ He warned me as we walked through the crowd.
He pulled me out into the sun light and pulled on sunglasses as he continued to lead me to a large white car where a man in a black suit stood beside the back door.
‘Your majesty’ He bowed before looking at me with a strange look ‘Is this our new Luna sir?’
‘She is’ Koda said with pride in his voice and kissed my hand ‘Madelyn this is Rick, Rick this is Madelyn’
‘Hello’ I said a little nervously, I could sense he was only an omega, but he still felt very powerful to me, it would take me a little while to get use to being around Lycans.
‘Hello Luna’ He smiled at me and I noticed him looking at my throat ‘I heard a rumor last night that the Prince’s had met you, but I didn’t know if they were true or not’
‘Well they were’ Koda commented ‘We’re going to the mall on Coren street, baby, hop in’
I turned away from Rick and climbed into the car and moved over to the other door but as I began to pull on my seat belt, Koda grabbed me and pulled me back into the middle.
I giggled and swatter him away, but he was to strong and simply pulled on my belt before leaning back comfortably as he took my hand again
‘Aren’t you going to put on your belt too?’
Koda laughed and shook his head ‘Even if we crashed I’d be fine. You, on the other hand, will stay in your seatbelt, I can’t risk anything happening to you’
‘Ok’ I said easily.
We remained silent as we travelled, I felt very self-conscious with Rick within earshot, but Koda didn’t seem to mind, he just pulled out his phone and started reading something while he held my hand on his lap.
I looked out the window at the city that was passing by us, we hadn’t explored this part of the city the other day so everything was all knew.
I felt a twinge of guilt when I remembered Luna Morgan, she had been so upset with me, I hated that I’d told her the truth about her husband and son, no matter how horribly they treated me, they’d always loved and respected her.
