I was beyond eager to go home and see Madelyn and Knox was the same way, she’d been all he’d thought about all day and wanted to shift and take her on a run. But I doubted Ava was fully awake and able to shift yet.
I headed out of my office, saying goodbye to a few pack members still working, and stepped into the elevator and hit the button for my floor.
MADELYLN’S POV
We pulled up out front of the tower and Koda climbed out and offered me his hand to take which surprised me, no one had ever treated me so kindly before, it was so strange to me to be cared for.
I took Koda’s hand and gently pulled me from the car which drove off instantly.
‘This way’ Koda said when I went to walk towards the door
‘We’re not going inside?’
‘Not yet’ He answered and began to pull me around the tower and down a stone path that lead into a stunning garden with wild flowers and massive trees and even a small river and pond ‘I thought we could have a picnic and get to know each other a little more’
I smiled as I looked around the garden, there were a few pack members scattered around but they didn’t seem to notice us or care about our presence.
‘Its so pretty’ I exclaimed as Koda pulled me towards a blue rug were a picnic blanket had been placed on top of and various dishes ‘We never had gardens like this is my old pack’
‘I am glad you’re thinking of it as your old pack and not your pack’ He commented and sat down ‘Jaxs and I want you to feel at home here, this is your pack now’
I sat down beside him and grabbed a grape from a bowl ‘If this is my pack now, shouldn’t I officially declare myself to your dad’
‘Thats how it’s done in werewolf packs baby’ Koda told me as he poured us a drink of bubbly yellow liquid I’d never seen before ‘In a Lycan pack, you have to drink the blood of the Alpha, not alot, just a pinprick will do but Jax and I talked about this morning while we cooked breakfast and we figured that there’s no point, once we mark you, you’ll be connected to the pack anyway so why waste our fathers time, he’s already busy enough’
‘Ok’ I said easily ‘What is this?’
Koda had passed me my drink and it smelt odd to me.
‘Its a Lycan drink called Bosen’ He told me ‘You will either love it or hate it, it’s very sour’
I took a small sip and screwed up my face in disgust and Koda laughed and took the cup from me.
‘I guess you hate it’ He said in amusement ‘Jaxs hates it too but its one of my favourites, you must have Jax’s sweet tooth, here, try this one’
Koda poured me another drink and this time I liked it, it was alot sweeter then the last one, I didn’t understand how Koda enjoyed it.
‘So’ Koda said as he picked up a strawberry and took a bite ‘You mentioned that you liked books, I will show you my library when we go back inside, I am a big reader too, what’s your favourite?’
Oh no, he really didn’t know what he was in for, when I got talking about books and stories I loved, you couldn’t shut me up.
A fact that Koda was just now learning, I gushed about all the books I’d read and my list of books I wanted to read and about my favourite book that I always kept with me about a dragon who fell in love with a witch.
Koda smiled and listened to me rant on and on while he ate but when I realised I’d been talking for a solid hour without him saying a word, I blushed and closed my mouth.
‘Sorry’ I blushed ‘I didn’t mean to go for so long’
‘Dont worry about it’ He smiled ‘I love listening to you talk’
‘Yeah right’ I giggled
‘You are so beautiful when you’re smiling’ Koda said as he looked into my eyes and I felt a strange nervousness between my thighs ‘I can’t wait to f*ck you’
‘Koda!’ I gasped and blushed, he was so brazen
Koda smiled as he ran his fingers through my hair and pulled my face to his, kissing me just as passionately as he had the moment we met last night.
Butterflies erupted through out my entire body, causing tiny electric shocks to tingle all over me.
Before I knew what was happening Koda was pushing me back on the blanket and leaning over me as we kissed.
I found myself running my hands up his chest and gripping his shirt to pull him closer which he did with a low growl.
We were so caught up in each other that I forgot that we were in a garden with people passing by until I heard a women clear her throat and we jumped a little and broke apart.
‘Sh*t..’ Koda said nervously as he grabbed my hand and pulled us both onto our feet ‘I am sorry grandmother, I didn’t smell your scent, I was’
I looked up a beautiful brunette women on her late 50tys, she was wearing a very stunning golden and white dress and her hair was pulled up into clips and golden gems.
‘You were forgetting your station!’ The women yelled angrily ‘Is what you were doing, did your father waste his time teaching you how to behave in public!?’
‘No grandmother’ Koda looked down like a little child, I hadn’t seen him like this before, he looked very nervous, perhaps the Queen had been right about her mother in law last night ‘I am very sorry, please forgive me’
‘Us’ I added and held his hand tightly ‘Please forgive us, it wasn’t just Koda, mam’
‘So you’re Madelyn?’ The Queen mother looked at me
‘Yes mam’
‘Theo told me about you of course’ She began to look me up and down ‘You certainly look like Iyanor, she was a beautiful girl too’
‘Thank you’ I said nervously ‘So, I guess that means you’re my grandmother too?’
The women glared at me and I looked down nervously
‘It would appear so’ She answered but then she grabbed my chin and turned my head ‘Why isn’t this girl marked yet, why aren’t you marked Koda?!’
I gulped nervously and looked up at my mate
‘She wasn’t ready yet’
‘Ready?’ She spat angrily, this women was very grumpy ‘What nonsense, what makes you think you have a choice to be ready or not, have you accepted the twins?’
‘Yes your majesty’
‘Then there is nothing more to discuss’ She responded ‘Koda, link your brother at once and have him meet us here, the two of you will mark her and seeing as you can’t be trusted to do it on your own, I will witness it to see that it is done!’
‘No’ I said before I could stop myself ‘I am not ready to be marked, we’re going to wait a few days’
‘Maddie my love please let me handle this’ Koda pleaded
‘Well she definitely has her mother’s rudeness’ The Queen mother commented.
‘My rudeness?’ I asked angrily ‘What about your rudeness, you can’t just demand that I get marked, it’s none of your business’
‘Maddie stop’ Koda grabbed my arm
‘None of my business?’ The Queen mother said calmly but I felt alot of power coming from her ‘Now you listen to me girl, everything in this city is my business, keeping the crown to a high standard is my business and I will not tolerate disobedience from anyone, if I say you are to be marked then you will be, call your brother her now’
