People kept staring at us as we passed them and I looked down nervously as the black glass floor but the boys seemed perfectly at ease as they spoke to people while we walked.
I wasn’t used to all of this attention, I had always been invisable unless someone wanted something and I could be useful or used
Finally we came to the end of the hall where a large waterfall was blocking the doorway, it fell down onto the ground, confusing me when I realised the ground wasn’t soaking wet
“Go through” Koda urged but I looked up at him in confusion to see a large smile on his face.
“No” I laughed “I don’t want to get wet”
The boys looked at each other in amusement before Jax leant over and picked me up and walked right through the water.
I squealed and laughed in shock, how dare they but nothing happened, we walked through the water and it felt cold but I remained dry.
The boys were laughing as Jax placed me back on the ground and I once more pulled down the bottom of my dress and stared at the waterfall.
“How?” I asked in confusion
“It’s a spell” Koda answered and took my hand again “Got you though, didn’t it”
“He got me with it too” Jax told me as we turned around “He shoved me straight through it”
Koda laughed harder “You should have seen his face”
I smiled at their childish antics, it must have been nice to grow up with a sibling.
“Come on” Koda took my hand
I looked out at the space before me where dozens of people were dancing to music on a large dance floor, the ground looked like a large pond but no one was falling into the water, it must have been another spell.
There was a live band with an Asian female singer, she was gorgeous and had long red and silver hair but I felt very uncomfortable by her presence, it was strange, I’d had this same feeling in the car the day we arrived here when we saw the dragon female shift, was this women a dragon too?.
Around the dance floor were risen platforms with tables and chairs and several paths that lead into other rooms that I was curious about.
Around each platform where the boys were leading me was more fake waterfalls acting as walls, or at least I hoped they were also fake.
I noticed dozens of men and women in uniform wandering through out the crowd holding trays of drinks and empty glasses and the same amount of guards in black attire and all looking terrifying.
As Koda pulled me up the stairs to a platform I looked around at all the sparkling lights everywhere that reflected off all of the waterfalls and water features that had been placed everywhere and it made me feel like I was in the stars.
Once we reached the top of the platform I smiled and waved when I saw Evet, she was sitting at the table with a large black man, was he her mate?
Evet looked stunning, her hair was up in bun with a large golden clip around it and she wore and very pretty golden dress that opened at the back.
“Hey” She smiled back at me
“Precious, this is Cole” Jax told me as Koda and Cole shook hands “He is our Beta”
“Oh, hello Beta Cole”
“Luna”
“So formal” Evet smiled “But sweety, you outrank this dog, you don’t have to use his title”
“Who are you calling a dog?”
“Oh, go chew on a bone” Evet commented “Maddie, come sit by me”
“No” Jax shook his head “She’s sitting with us”
I blushed a little at his teritorial nature but didn’t argue, I liked being with them, it made me feel safe and wanted and I sat down between my mates.
I kept my legs firmly shut and pulled the bottom of my dress down again but Jax rolled his eyes and put his arm over my shoulders and leant in.
“Leave it” He whispered into my ear and I felt chills of pleasure run down my spine, making me shiver, especially when he ran his hand over my thigh “You look sexy”
My heart was racing but mercifully a waiter got Jax’s attention and he moved his hand off my legs and looked up at the man holding a tray under his arm but strangly, I got the urge to move his hand back in place, I wanted his touch but I was too timid to act on my impulse
“What can I get you your majesty?” He asked but I noticed him look at me, making me feel uncomfortable when his eyes ran over my body but thankfully when Koda noticed and growled, the waiter quickly moved and I smiled to myself and looked down
“The usual” Jax answered with a tense irritated tone as he glared at the waiter
“Me too” Koda added ‘And..’ He looked at me for a moment ‘Baby, what do you want to drink?”
“I’ve never drank before”
“I see” Koda looked at Jaxson and I thought he seemed angry again
“Bring us one of everything” Jax told the waiter and smirked at me “We’ll find your drink tonight if it kills us”
“If she’s the one drinking it all, she’ll be the one dying” Cole laughed
“Don’t talk about her dying!” Koda growled and punched him, making flinch in fear
“Hey, it’s okay” Jaxson hugged me tighter around my shoulders as Koda looked back at me
“Sorry baby” He leant over and kissed me “I didn’t mean to frighten you”
“It’s okay” I lied and tried to calm my heart down which was racing crazily
‘Where’s my apology” Cole asked and rubbed his arm with a fake pout “He hurt me Luna, look”
I giggled at his dramatics and the tense atmosphere lifted and everyone laughed but I noticed the twins glance at each other and I felt awful for making them worry…. keep it together Madeyln, I scolded myself, don’t let them keep seeing how broken you are… they’ll reject you.
I plasted a fake smile on my face and took Koda’s hand and sat it on my lap while I snuggled up against Jax who still had his arm over my shoulders, if I was only going to get them until they found out the truth about me, I was going to enjoy it while it lasted.
“Why is it so quiet up here?” I asked to distract the twins “It was so loud near the dance floor”
“Magic” Jaxson answered “It got annoying having to yell over the music or just linking all night”
“What do you think of the place?” Koda asked me
“I love it” I answered and looked around again “It’s beautiful, I assume you designed the place?”
“No Luna please don’t” Cole joked when Koda looked thrilled by my question “He’ll talk about architexture and design all night now”
I giggled again, Cole was funny
“Shut up” Koda glared at him “Yes, baby, I did, I’m glad you like it”
