“Good morning baby” I said and kissed her forehead as she opened her eyes.
She shocked me by hugging me tighter and pressing her face into my chest, but I didn’t mind at all, I loved that she was beginning to feel comfortable with us.
“Morning” She mumbled.
We laid together for a few minutes before I pulled back “We should get up and get dressed” I said reluctantly “I have to swap over with Jax today and work”
Maddie smiled, but then she looked down and blushed when she realized her leg was up over my hip and quickly moved away.
“Sorry”
I laughed “I hope you’re not sorry” I told her ‘Anytime you want to wrap your legs around my waist or face, you go right ahead”
“Koda”
I laughed again and sat up “We do have time if you want me to spread your legs again”
Maddie sat up on her knees and grabbed my shoulders and lent in close “Sure” She said “You could use the practice”
“Excuse me” I laughed and grabbed her and threw her down on her back and climbed over her and held her hands by her head “Say it again, I dare you”
Maddie giggled, and I loved seeing her gorgeous smile “I take it back” She said quickly.
“And I don’t need any practice”
“No, you don’t need any practice” She told me “Although I have no frame of reference, how do I know that you and Jax aren’t terrible”
“Judging by the moans from you last night” I commented ‘Trust me, we aren’t terrible”
Maddie blushed and bit her bottom lip, so I kissed her for a little while before I finally got up and climbed out of bed ‘Come on gorgeous, let’s get ready and eat, I’m wasting away”
Maddie giggled again “Yeah I’m sure under all those muscles you’re wasting away to nothing”
“Noticed my muscles have you” I winked at her “Enjoy the view”
“Shut up” She rolled her eyes
“Telling your Alpha to shut up?” I inquired “You really are being cheeky this morning, I’ll have to come up with a creative punishment this evening when the deadline is up”
Maddie giggled and went into her walk-in, I loved seeing her so happy
After we showered, dressed and ate, we headed to the elevators. I couldn’t help but check Maddie out. She looked so sexy today.
She was wearing a pretty cream dress I’d bought her yesterday, it was one of the few she spoke up and said she likes, I basically picked out the rest of her closet, she was too shy to tell me what she likes.
She’d pulled her thick blonde hair up in a high braid which left her slender throat visible and I longed to just pull her in and mark her, I wanted everyone to know she was claimed, but I didn’t. I only had to wait a few more hours and she’d be mine officially
I couldn’t stand the distance any longer so I grabbed her wrist and spun Maddie in a twirl and pulled her into my arms and she laughed and grabbed the front of my shirt to steady herself as I lent around her and hit the button of the office suites
“How about you and I run off together today, and leave Jax to do the work for me”
“No” Maddie turned me down “That’s so mean, he had to work yesterday”
“Fine” I smirked and rubbed my nose against hers, making her giggle again “I’ll go slave away while you two have fun”
When the elevator doors opened up, I took Maddie’s hand, and we followed Jaxson’s scent down the hallway towards the throne room, I was a little apprehensive about going to the throne room in case we ran into Troy, but when we rounded the corner, all hopes of avoiding him went out the window
Jax was on top of Troy, beating him mercilessly. I don’t know what had happened but I was fine letting it playout until Troy was dead, but when I looked at Maddie who was tearing up with her hands over her mouth, I knew I had to intervene
I left Maddie’s side and ran at my brother while the guards came rushing over, I quickly grabbed him from behind and yanked him back, causing him to growl and try to attack me until he realized what he was doing and put his hand down
‘I’m good, get off!’
I pulled back and we stepped apart, Jax was breathing hard but rushed over to Maddie
“I’m sorry” He pulled her into a hug and leaving blood on her clothing “I didn’t mean to scare you”
‘What the hell happened?’ I asked him through the link
“WHAT IS GOING ON!”
Our father came marching down the hallways with several guards in tow and my mother, who looked at us with rage
My brother quickly answered my question through the link as I glared at Troy who was being helped up by one of the guards.
“I WANT YOUR SON ARRESTED!” Troy shouted as he spat up blood onto the ground “HE HAS LOST HIS MIND, I JUST ASKED HIM FOR A CHANCE TO SPEAK THINGS THROUGH IN PRIVATE AND HE LOST IT”
“YOU LYING B*STARD!” Jax shouted back and tried to get to Troy again but I shoved him back
“COOL DOWN JAX!”
I noticed Maddie cringe and looked away from Troy who was glaring at her and I realized he was linking her, I guess my brother noticed too because he lost his sh*t again
“STAY THE F*CK OUT OF HER HEAD!” He commanded and tried to shove me out of the way so he could attack Troy again and I was forced to grab him around his waist and hold him back, which resulted in an elbow to the ribs
“JAXSON STOP!” Maddie called out as tears fell down her face “PLEASE!”
Jax stopped instantly and looked back at her “Cody, get off”
“Only if you knock it off!”
“I’m calm, get off me!”
I released him and he pulled Maddie in again “Don’t be afraid, I’m sorry”
“Are you going to do something?” Troy asked our father “He just tried again, I thought you Lycan’s had laws about fighting in the main tower or pack house?”
My father growled angrily as he looked over us “Link, take Jaxson to the prinson for the evening”
“WHAT!” Jax and I shouted, but my father held up his hand.
“Go” My father shouted as one of the large guards came over to us “And be lucky it’s just one night”
Link was a good man, but we all knew that Jax could take him if he fought him. Not to mention, I’d have my brothers back but when I saw Jax look down at Maddie with a concerned stare, I knew he wasn’t going to fight. He obviously didn’t want to upset her more
“Keep her safe” He told me through the link to which I nodded at him. Of course, I would, it didn’t even need to be said.
“I’m sorry sweetheart” Jax gently ran his fingers down her cheek “We’ll spend the day together tomorrow, and please don’t worry about me, I’ll be okay”
