I turned in his arms and looked into his gorgeous eyes “Please don’t leave me, I don’t want to go back there”
Koda looked at me sadly and I felt stupid for voicing my fears “We’ll never leave you” He told me firmly as he placed one of his hands over my cheek “And even if you choose to leave us, which I hope you don’t, we’ll never make you go back to that pack, we’ll always make sure you’re taken care of”
“I don’t want to leave you and Jax” I told him quickly and he smiled and kissed me
“Good” He said against my lips “Get some sleep, you’re going to need it because you’re not sleeping tomorrow night”
I blushed and quickly turned my back on him and closed my eyes, taking comfort in the heat coming from his amazing body.

Happy birthday Maddie, I whispered to myself as I curled up in my bed as the sun began to seep through my thick curtain in my room.
I was 17 today and I hadn’t shifted again, maybe my wolf didn’t want me either, I wouldn’t want a weakling like me if I were her.
I stretched and climbed out of bed and went into the bathroom to shower and dressed in jeans and a loose black shirt I’d had for years and was fading from over wear.
After slipping on my sneakers, I went into the kitchen to make breakfast and froze in anger when I saw Sky making a smoothie, she’d trashed the entire kitchen, there was milk spilt over the counter, a case of strawberries all over the ground and an empty container next to a cutting board, an open container of protein powder that had also been spilt and an ice tray on the sink.
I looked over at the freezer to see that she’d left the door open and there was a towel on the ground with her shoes she’d kicked off.
“Oh good” Skyler looked over her shoulder “Clean this up wolfless” She said and walked off with her smoothie in a glass.
I glared after her as I began to clean up, Sky had started to workout with her mother several times a week now that she’d shifted and I was always having to clean up after her morning post workout smoothie.
Once the kitchen was clean again, I set to work and made breakfast and set the table for the family who all came down stairs an hour after I’d started making the food.
“Good morning Maddie” Luna Morgan smiled at me as she rubbed her shoulder “Happy birthday”
“Thank you Luna”
“Pass me the medicine container” Luna Morgan ordered politely “I worked out a little to hard this morning and I think I bruised my shoulder”
“Won’t you heal soon?” I asked as I passed her the container
Scott walked in wearing loose shorts and a tight tank top while he help a basketball, he had a game today and I was glad the A-hole would be out of the house today.
“I should but we have a long drive to the city today for the ball” Luna Morgan said as she rummaged through the container “And I wanted some pain relief until then?”
“I don’t know why I can’t come to the ball” Scott complained as he sat down “It’s not like I’m a possible mate to the Princes, the stupid 21 year old rule shouldn’t be for men too”
“I don’t make the rules Scott” Luna Morgan said grumpily, she had a short fuse when she was in pain “Stop complaining and eat your breakfast”
I smirked and sat down, I loved seeing that j*rk get reprimanded but he noticed and glared at me and I looked down
We all began eating when Alpha Troy came in and I quickly lowered my head and ate, I’d made the Alpha mad yesterday and I didn’t want to make it worst
“Are you okay Maddie?” Luna asked me
“Yes thank you”
“My sweet” Alpha gained her attention “I need you to go alone tonight, I have some things to deal with but I will join you tomorrow”
“Really?” Luna Morgan pouted “What has come up, if it’s important than maybe I should just stay and skip the ball this year”
“No, you go” He said firmly “It would be rude for us to both skip it and I will join you tomorrow”
“Well if you it can’t be helped”
Luna Morgan looked annoyed but changed the subject and we all continued to eat afterwhich Luna left for the Lycan city while I cleaned up the kitchen.
‘Follow me’ Alpha Troy said from the doorway and I wiped my hands on tea towel before nervously following him and Scott into the woods.
I remained silent as we walked towards the shed he used to torture me and exhaled in relief as we passed it but I grew very nervous as we reached a clearing by the orphanage.
Beta Liam was standing with a little girl Molly who was crying and bleeding from her lip, Beta Liam must have hit her, what was going on.
“Madelyn!” He shouted and I rushed to his side and looked from him to Molly
“Yes Alpha?”
“Molly has a special power” He told me and I looked at her in fear, no…. “She hurt one of the other children this morning but making her have hallucinations and she fell from the balcony and broke several bone”
“I didn’t mean to” Molly wept and held onto her teddy for comfort “She hit me first”
I looked sadly at the litth 8 year old gir, it didn’t matter who attacked first, she had a power that the Alpha wanted and he’d take it no matter what.
“Take it for me”
“No” I shook my head “I’m not hurting anyone anymore!”
Alpha Troy grabbed my arm and shoved me over to Molly and I quickly held her in my arms while she cried
‘Do it!’ Alpha Troy ordered “Take her powers and kill her”
“NO!”
“I will not tell you again c*nt” He said angrily “DO IT!”
I looked down at Molly and shook my head again “NO!”
I jumped up and shoved the Alpha away from us “RUN MOLLY!”
The little girl shot up and began to run but one of the guards grabbed her and threw her down at the Alpha’s feet and she began to cry
“Don’t hurt me Alpha” She wept as Scott grabbed my by the throat and held me in place “I want to go home!”
Tears fell down my face, there was no saving her, I wished I was stronger, I wished I could use my powers to stop him but I was to afraid and it would only make my punishment worst
Alpha Troy glared at me for a second before leaning down and touching Molly’s arm, he took her powers and doubled over in pain as blood seeped from his nose while I stood there trembling.
Once the Alpha recovered, he stood up and punched me in the stomach and I fell to the ground crying as I tried to breathe, I looked up when I heard the little girl scream and saw Alpha Troy snap her neck
“Burn the b*tch before Morgan comes back” He ordered to some of the guards “And if she asks, the girl ran away our of guilt”
Alpha Troy reached down and dragged me by my hair, causing my jeans to rip against the ground and cut my legs while I screamed in pain and held onto his wrist as I tried to pull free but he was too strong and he continued to drag me into the shed
