I rolled my eyes and quickly finished pulling on a stupid suit before we walked out of the closet and listened to Maddie still getting ready in the bathroom so we sat down and pulled on our shoes.
“I’ll ask Julia to fill the room with flowers for tonight” I told my brother who looked up in confusion
“Why?”
“It’s Maddies first time” I said as if it were obvious, my brother really was clueless sometimes “Girls like that kind of thing and I want it to be special for her”
“Cool” He nodded “Should we get her a present?”
“I am her gift”
Jax laughed and rolled his eyes “Yeah you keep telling yourself that”
“What about the engagement ring?” I suggested, we’d picked one out decades ago, a gorgeous gold band covered in diamonds and a large diamond in the center also surounded by smaller diamonds.
Jax looked up at me in surprise “You think she’s ready, what if she says no?”
“Only one way to find out”
“Okay…no, wait, not tonight” He said quickly “I want to change out the main diamond to a blue one, she’ll like it more”
“Oh, good idea” I agreed “We’ll just give her a bracelet or something, I’ll pick one out later”
“Cool”
Maddie walked back in to the main bedroom wearing a pretty short sleeved full length boho dress with a playful watercolour print with her hair in a long braid
“You are so f*cking beautiful” Jax delcared as he looked at her with the same lust that was present in my own eyes
Maddie blushed bright red and looked down shyly but I smiled as I walked over and pulled her up into my arms and hugged her, she exhaled in surprise by my sudden action.
She quickly wound her arms and legs around me and I felt my d*ck harden as she pressed against it but I just kissed her softly and placed her back on her feet before I got to turned on.
“I will see you later gorgeous” I kissed her once more “Have a great day”
“You too” She avoided my eyes, it was so cute how shy she was
“See ya” I nodded to my brother who waved and went over to Maddie.
Once I reached the office, all hell had broken out due to my brothers actions and Cole looked worried as he came out of his office.
“You’re parents want you” He told me before linking the rest of his message “And you’re fathers p*ssed, a few of the werewolf Alpha’s are demanding to know why Troy’s being tracked down, what happened?”
“We have proof that he abused Maddie” I admitted as I began to walk down the hallway to my parents office, Cole followed after me
“How?”
“Someone sent us videos” I held up the phone Jax gave me while we were in the walk-in “Some guy called keeper”
“Keeper?” He commented thoughfully
“It’s obviously a fake name but see if you track this person down” I ordered “It was sent by a messenger, check out the video footage from the tower and see what messenger service brought it through the messengers uniform and then check out their video footage to get image of the person who dropped it off to them”
“On it” He nodded and turned back down the hall and left
My parents guards saw me coming and pushed open the office doors, my father must have ordered them to do so because I’d usually have to wait for the guards to check with my parents before letting me in.
When I entered, I found my father pacing around looking furious while my mother stood beside him with her arms crossed and looking annoyed.
“WHERE THE H*LL HAVE YOU BEEN!?” My father shouted when I closed the door “IT’S BEEN AN HOUR SINCE I CALLED FOR YOU!”
“Sorry” I said calmly “I was at home with Maddie and Jax, I didn’t know you asked for me, you could have linked us, what’s wrong?”
“WHATS WRONG!?” He shouted again “I WAS TRYING TO DEAL WITH THIS TROY SITUATION DELICATELY AND YOUR ID*OT BROTHER HAS RUINED EVERYTHING, WHY DID HE ORDER FOR TROYS ARREST!”
I took a breath and showed my father the phone and pressed play on one of the videos but I looked away, I’d seen enough through Jaxsons memories and didn’t have any interest in seeing them again.
“Oh my goddess” My mother exlaimed with her hands over her mouth
I took back the phone and stopped the video’s, hearing Maddie screaming and crying was f*cking torture
“Jax acted rashly” I admitted “But you can understand now, can’t you”
“Of course” My mother nodded as tears filled her eyes “That poor girl, where did you get this evidence?”
I once again explained about the keeper and my parents glanced at each other
“What?” I asked “Do you know who that is?”
“Why would we know this person?” My mother asked but I knew she was lying, she often answered a question with another question if she was lying rather then just answering it.
“You’re lying”
My father growled and looked over at me “Do not speak to your Queen with such disrespect” He warned me
“This is about my mate!” I pointed out “Why are you both lying!”
My mother touched his arm and they looked at each other, clearly linking and my father rubbed his face to calm down
“The keeper isn’t a name, it’s a title” He told me “They’re an ancient sect who protect specific and powerful beings”
“So.. what does this mean?” I asked “Are you saying that Maddie is one of these powerful beings?”
“We don’t know” My mother answered “But” She looked at my father who nodded “Her mother was, she created the first werewolves, she turned your uncle”
I couldn’t believe this, I’d always been taught that a white Lycan created them and that she was violent and powerful but that she’d been killed by my father and there was never any mention that she was my adopted aunt
“You killed Maddie’s mother?” I asked, how the hell would I tell her about this?
JAXSONS POV
Boy did I feel relaxed as we rode down in the elevator, I didn’t realise how pent up I’d been until Madelyn literally s*cked all the tension from my body.
And although a huge part of me was stressed out over this whole situation with Troy, I couldn’t help but enjoy the moment with my girl who was currently in my arms
“What are we doing today?”
Images of her naked and bent over sprang to mind but I couldn’t live out those fantasies just yet so the plans I wanted to enact today had to be pushed aside.
