Koda answered my question and I felt tears pr*ck my eyes a guilt filled me
“It’s my fault” I whispered “I told her to look in the shed, she only went there because of me”
“This isn’t your fault” Jax sat back down next to and took my hands again “And theres no way Morgan didn’t suspect anything over the years, even if Troy hadn’t killed her, she still wasn’t going unpunished by us and when we get our hands on Scott and Troy, they’re both dead”
“And don’t even try to argue” Koda added when I opened my mouth “They’re both dead, we might even lock up that dam sister too”
“Okay” I nodded sadly
“Please don’t feel guilty about this” Jax ordered “You’re the victim here and they deserve everything that’s coming”
“I was only a victim because I’m weak” I mumbled “I don’t know why the Keeper would contact me, I’m not some powerful being”
“Enough!” Jax shouted at me “You are not weak, being a victim of abuse doesn’t make you weak, they are two very different things”
“And we don’t see you as weak” Koda added as he knelt in front of me and placed his hands on my hips “But if that is how you see yourself, we’ll teach you to be strong”
“You can train with us and we’ll teach you to fight” Jax said eagerly “The stronger you get physically, the stronger you will get mentally and you’ll see how strong you really are”
“Okay” I said happily, I’d always wanted to learn to fight but Alpha Troy had always refused ‘Can we start tomorrow?”
“Baby if you think I’m letting you out of bed tomorrow moring then you’re crazy” Koda declared and I blushed when I remembered that we were going to mate tonight.
“Anyway” Jax smirked at his brother “In a few days, we can start your training and sweetheart, about the things you’ve been through growing up and especially the things that happened in that shed, we want to know everything”
“Okay” I said nervously “But can we wait until after tonight, I just want one moment that’s not tainted by them”
“Deal” Koda hugged me
“Speaking of which, how about we go home and start enjoying our evening” Jax suggested “We can talk about all of this in greater detail in a day or two, there’s still alot we have to discuss”
I felt so awful for Luna Morgan and the guilt was eating me up but looking at my mates, I realised that I couldn’t change anything about the situation and that I deserved to at least have one night of peace.
“Alright” I sad shyly
MADELYN’S POV
When we walked into the house, Julia was coming down the hallway holding an old vase of flowers “Welcome home your majesties”
“Hello” I smiled at her
“I know we’re early, but is everything ready?” Koda asked.
“Yes sir”
“Wonderful” Jax clapped happily “Thank you, you can take off the rest of the evening and tomorrow”
“Yes Alpha, have a good evening”
“Come on” Jax pulled me to the dining room.
The dining room had been made up with flowers and candles and the finest silverware and plates I’d ever seen, all gold and blue that I suspected the boys had asked Julia to get as they knew my love of anything blue.
Even the napkins were in creative shapes and rested on the plates and in the empty wine glasses.
Julia had done an amazing job, she was so sweet.
“We really should give Julia a raise” Jax commented as he looked around the room.
“Do you like it baby?” Koda asked as he touched my back.
“It’s lovely” I responded and enjoyed the look of contentment in the twin’s eyes.
“My Queen” Jax pulled out the dark wooden chair with a soft white cushion for a seat and gestured for me to sit at the head of the table which surprised me.
Alpha Troy had made a point growing up that the head of the table was for the most important person and that I was even lucky he allowed me to sit at the table at all, rather than on the ground like a dog should.
I didn’t know what to do, my past trauma always got in the way of me enjoying little moments with my mates and I just remained by the door
“What’s wrong?” Jax looked from me to the chair in confusion.
I quickly explained about Alpha Troys rule and said it was best if one of the twins had that seat, but Koda laughed and scooped me up and deposited me gently on the seat before Jax pushed me in.
“Sweetheart, you are the most important person in this family”
I didn’t know what to say to that. Was he telling me the truth or was he just trying to put me at ease, so I’d go through with sleeping with them.
I hated myself immediately for that thought and looked down at my hands. No… they wouldn’t use me, if all they wanted was s*x, they’d have just ordered me to comply, they cared about me.
I kept reminding myself that over and over again as they sat down on either side of me.
“Also, we both want to be by your side” Koda added “Rather than argue and have you sit on either side of the table, it’s just easier that you sit in between us”
Jax took my hand and kissed it and I felt tingles of excitement and nerves run through my entire system and I gulped and reached my free hand for the water.
“I’ll get it” Koda said quickly and poured us all a glass of water.
“Thank you”
“I asked Robert to bring over one of the plum wines he had, so he sent this one” Jax reached for a bottle on a golden carrier filled with ice “Apparently, this is from the best batch he’s ever made, and he hopes you like it”
I smiled and sipped my water. I didn’t enjoy wine. We’d tried several at the club and none went down well, but I didn’t want to be rude and reject Robert’s gracious gift, so I took a glass when Jaxson offered myself and Cody one.
“To us” Jax held up his glass.
“To a lifetime of happiness and great s*x”
I giggled shyly, and the boys laughed and took a sip, I followed their actions and was surprised that the wine was actually very nice, it had a wonderful wild taste and I took another larger sip.
“Told you it was good wine” Jax said smugly, and put his glass down.
Koda was the first at the food. He always acted as if he hadn’t eaten in years, and I was surprised Jax was as big as he was because growing up, Koda would have eaten the lion’s share of he food.
I made a mental note to cook for him one night, I wanted to do something nice for my mates who had been so kind and caring since we’d met, and if Cody loved food, then that was a way I could show my appreciation. I’d have to find another way to thank Jax.
Koda lifted a few lids that had been placed over some dishes and pushed them down to the table and out of the way.
Instantly, the smell of delicious dishes filled the room and my stomach growled eagerly.
