Our guards were trying to contain the perimeter while our healers and fire brigade got to work.
I pulled on my pants that Knox had carried in his mouth as he raced towards the danger and quickly ran over to where I could see Ryker taking charge of the situation.
“Update now!” I ordered as I reached him
“We have two teams inside getting people out, Coles taking point” He shouted over the noise before turning to a healer who was holding a small girl “Get her in the dam ambulance!” He ordered before turning back to me “Your parents are around the other side getting as many people out but so far we have a report that 19 are dead”
“19?” Koda asked in disbelief as he looked around at the screaming and crying pack members
“Does anyone know what happened, was it a bomb or something else?”
“Definitely a bomb” Ryker answered as he helped lift a man up onto a stretcher “Go, get him to the hospital” He said to a different healer before once more looking back at us “One of the tech teams is looking through the video surveillance from the building, she linked me a few seconds before you arrived and said she saw someone plant a bomb”
“Where’s the tech team?”
Ryker pointed to a large black van “Over there”
“I’m on it” Koda turned and ran towards the van while I looked back at Ryker who was wiping sweat from him brow
“Are there any more bombs?”
“Not sure but the team hasn’t found any”
A groups of fire fighters ran passed me holding a large hose so I stepped aside.
“I’ll start getting people out”
I ran passed the fire brigade and into the burning building causing smoke to fill my lungs instantly but when I could hear screaming, I pushed on
I was only in the building for a few minutes when I came running back out holding two young boys with there parents were right behind me, both burnt badly but still on their feet.
“Get another ambulance!” I shouted to a healer and placed the two burnt children on the stretcher as I took deep breaths.
I had just turned back towards the building when Koda came running out of the van white as a ghost.
“JAXSON!”
I had never heard him yell my name with such fear and it chilled me to the bone
“What?!” I ran and bridged the gap between us
“It’s a trap!” He shouted as Ryker came rushing over to us looking alarmed “Scott left the bomb, it was obviously a trap, he’s going after Maddie!”
I didn’t even respond, I just shifted on the spot, knocking Ryker backwards and Knox bolted back home with Flynn right at his back
“I WANT ALL THE GUARDS TO GET TO OUR SUITE NOW!” I ordered the tower guards through the link “YOUR LUNA IS IN DANGER!”
“Yes Alpha!” Anthony, the head of the tower security responded immediately
Knox had never ran so fast in his entire life and we could hardly breathe as he reached the tower.
Without waiting for the doors to open, he busted through them and began racing up the stairs when Anthony linked us back.
“Alphas the Luna’s been attacked!”
I couldn’t believe what I’d just heard, I felt like I was falling into darkness.
“IS SHE ALIVE?!” I heard Koda shout
That one sentence ran around in my mind over and over again and it felt like days until Anthony replied
“Yes but barely” He finally answered ‘She’s bleeding out’
“I WANT AN AMBULANCE AT THE MAIN TOWER NOW!” Koda ordered
I felt sick, most of our ambulances had been diverted to the burning building, they’d take too long to get here.
Knox smashed through another set of doors and we saw two dead guards on the ground but he ran passed them and came to an abrupt holt when he saw Anthony carrying Madelyn in his arms.
She was covered in blood and her clothes were torn, exposing her legs where large claws marks had been sliced into her thighs, some on her inner thighs which showed that someone had obviously tried to hold her legs apart.
I took control and shifted just as Flynn arrived looking just as horrified as I was.
“GIVE HER TO ME!” I ordered
Anthony very slowly and carefully passed her over and stepped back quickly, knowing I wasn’t in full control right now.
“GET ON!” Flynn ordered and laid down so I could climb on his back, which I did and he took off again.
I gripped his fur with one hand and held Madelyn in my other, looking down at her face caused my heart to stop.
Her face was bruised, her lips swollen and busted and her left eye was black and her eye socket looked broken.
“Madelyn!” I called out to her, praying beyond all hope that she’d answer and smile her beautiful smile at me but she remained silent
“IS SHE BREATHING?” Koda shouted through our telepathic connection
“Yes but hurry!”
“I WANT SCOTT FOUND!” I shouted through the link at Anthony
“Alpha we have a body of a male but it’s badly burnt” He responded quickly “It may this Scott person you’re referring to but we’ll need a DNA test to know for sure”
“Check the surveillance cameras” Koda ordered “I want to know how he got in passed the guards and if he was alone!”
“Yes sir”
“AND IF ANY OF YOUR MEN LET HIM IN THEY’RE DEAD!” I added and cut the link
Madelyn’s heart stuttered and stopped beating for a second and I felt like I was going crazy with grief
“FLYNN STOP!”
He quickly stopped and I jumped off of his back and laid Madelyn on the cold walk way outside outside the tower and started doing chest compressions
“MADELYN BREATHE!” I screamed at her while I pounded on her chest
I barely registered Koda had shifted back until he leant over and started breathing air into Madelyn’s mouth
