“Alot better” I answered “Actually I think she’s too good, Koda and I are the wrecks”
“Maybe she’s hiding how she’s really feeling?”
We began to walk down the hallways towards the throne room, this whole bullsh*t 5 morning meetings a row was getting tiresome, how did my father do it alone, I was so grateful that I had my brother to share the load with, though I would never admit to how much I appreciate him.
“I hope not” I repsonded “I won’t her to open up to us, do you really think she’s keeping things from us?”
“How would I know” He shrugged ‘You know her better than I do but if you’re worried just talk to her”
“I don’t know if I’m going to be good at this relationship stuff” I admitted “What if I f*ck it up?”
“You’ll be fine” He slapped my back “And if not, Koda can pick up the slack”
“Yeah thanks for the vote of confidence” I shoved him and continued on to the doors of the throne room
When I opened the door, my parents were already in full planning mode and my mother was walking up and down between the councelors talking about her plans for the up coming war
“NICE OF YOU TO JOIN US!” She shouted at us and Cole hid behind me, f*cking coward.
“Sorry Luna” He said quickly and rushed over to his seat where he promptly sat down and hid under a piece of paper that was waiting by his seat
“Sorry your majesty” I said with a smile and bowed, making sure to take her hand on the way up and kiss it “Please forgive me”
“Enough Jaxson” My father rolled his eyes “You’re not as charming as you believe, I feel sorry for my future daughter”
I laughed and walked over to him and bowed “Thank you for the glowing compliment your majesty”
“Just sit down” He told me “And from this moment on, you and Koda are both required in morning meetings, we are at war, play house with your mate once this situation is dealt with”
“Yes sir” I said but inside I was furious, now I’d never get a sleep in again
“However” He continued “She better be marked by the end of the week, we’ve given you and your brother long enough”
“I’m not just going to mark my mate because you want it”
“It’s not a want, it’s an order” He went on “You have until the end of the week to get this locked down!”
“Yes sir” I said with a clenched jaw but I was not going to give in, it was up to me and Koda, not my father.
“I want you and Koda to coordinate with Katsu” My father announced “He’s organising the troops into ranks and I only want the best so for once act like an Alpha and don’t let your emotions get in the way, if they don’t meet my criteria they’re out, no acceptions!”
“Fine” I said firmly and chose to ignore his insult “But don’t you think Koda would do better with planning rather then training”
“No, I think your brother would do better where the hell I want him”
I suppressed a growl, I really didn’t know what more we could do for our father to have some faith in our ruling abilities
“Fine but’
“JAX, DAD!” Koda shouted through the link and I nearly jumped in fear
“F*ck Koda, what?!” I shouted back “Is Madelyn okay?”
“FENRIR’S GOING TO ESCAPE!” Koda continued “TELL DAD AND GET HERE NOW”
Koda cut the link before I could ask anymore questions and I turned to find my father already shooting up from his chair and running from the throne room without even questioning anything.
“I WANT ALL GUARDS TO MERGE AT THE PRISON NOW!” My father shouted through the link “FENRIR IS GOING TO GET OUT!”
“I’m here!” Koda responded as my father and I shifted into our Lycan’s and I let Knox take over to run to the prison “All of the perimeter guards are down”
“DO NOT GO IN ALONE!” I shouted nervously at my brother, he was a great fighter but he was no match for our uncle
“No choice” He told me and I got a cold sweat down my spine “I can hear fighting!”
“KODA DO NOT LET GET OUT!” My father shouted but Koda cut the link again
“I WANT THE CITY LOCKED DOWN!” My father shouted “NO ONE IN OR OUT!”
“Yes Alpha” One of the head city guards responded
“Knox hurry the f*ck up!”
“Shut up” He growled at me “I’m going”
“F*ck, wait” I gasped “If Koda’s at the prison, where’s Madelyn?” I asked knox before linking Julia “Where are you and Madelyn?”
“Alpha Koda ordered us into the bunker your majesty but she’s very worried”
“Good, just keep her distracted, we’ll be home as soon as possible” I cut the link again and focused on getting to the prison
If took a further 5 minutes before we made it to the prison, we ran down the tunnel underground and sure enough, Koda hadn’t lied, the guards were down, infact, one was dead, he must have put up a good fight.
My father and I shifted back and grabbed some pants from the wall where several clothing items and ran through the prison levels, going deeper and deeper down into depths of the prison where we kept the worst of the worst, my uncle included.
I could sense the tension in my fathers body and it was palpable, I knew he was worried about what would happen when he came face to face with his twin, would he have to kill him this time?
We made it down the hallway where several more guards were down or dead, I didn’t have the time to check, my brother was my main focus but when we went into the room where my uncles cell was I saw Koda unconcious on the ground and bleeding from his head
“KODA!”
I ran over to my twin who was coming around “What happened?”
“You got knocked the f*ck out brother” I said lightly but my heart was racing as I hugged him “Don’t scare me!” I told him before leaning back and punching him in the arm
“Watch it jerk!” He said weakly and shoved me but I just pulled him back in for another hug
“What happened?!” Our father shouted as he slammed the cell door shut with so much force it broke off “WHERE IS HE!?”
“Troy was with him” Koda groaned and roated his arm which was badly bruised and bleeding “They smashed some f*cking blue orb and vanished”
“This orb, when it smashed, did it look like flames?” Our father asked
“Yes”
“F*CK!” My father shouted and grabbed the bed from the near the wall and threw it across the room “Both of you get up and follow me, we’re leading the search parties”
“Koda’s hurt” I snapped and pulled him to his feet “He needs to see a healer”
