“Dam it” I giggled when I lost once more but this time I couldn’t drink anymore, so I opted to let her draw a picture on my face
“Third times the charm” She draw another card and this time I won
“Yes!” I celebrated “Okay, drink or picture?”
“Depends on your question”
I giggled ‘Um.. how have you ever slept with a man?’
Julia laughed and nodded ‘Beta Cole’
‘No, seriously?’
‘Okay, I need details!’ I said excitedly

An hour later my face was covered in pictures, I was drunk and after a very fun bout of karaoke, I was curled up on a sofa drifting off
DREAM
I was standing in a field with tall stone pillars all around me in a cirle with amazingly details carvings of phoenix’s and dragons
“Madelyn!”
I turned around to see a very handsome muscular brunette man in loose pants and no shirt rushing over to me with an excited look in his eyes.
There were tattoo’s up his entire left arm and a huge scar down his chest but it only added to his appeal
“You did it!” He lifted me off the ground and spun me around “I’m so proud of you!”
He placed me on the ground and cupped my face in his hands before kissing me on the forehead “Okay, come on, lets try again”
END OF DREAM
I felt warm arms underneath me and the strange dream began to fade as I startled awake
“Shhy, easy baby, it’s me”
“Cody?” I said softly and still half asleep “My Cody”
“My Maddie” He whispered back and I felt his lips on my cheek “Go back to sleep my Queen”
“Did your uncle get out?”
“Yes but don’t worry about it baby, go back to sleep”
KODA’S POV
I hated leaving Maddie alone, especially now that my uncle was free but I took solice in the fact that Evet was by her side.
Evets guards would die to protect both girls and Evets herself was an amazing fighter so I felt a little more at ease about the whole situation.
After this mornings meeting which was longer then usual, Jax and I went to the arena to oversee the fighters and frankly I was glad to get away from my father.
He was tense and irritable throughout the entire meeting, yelling and snapping at everyone except our mother, though after 100 years of marriage this yr, he knew better then to cross her.
Jax was on the phone to a friend he had in the dragon city who worked for the King, he was discussing the treaty while I was going over some files on the fighters we’d be testing today.
I knew a few of them personally so I knew they’d pass my father’s insane requirements but others I wasn’t to sure about.
Cars were lined up the block around the arena and the parking lott was full as our driver took us to our private parking spot.
I hit Jaxsons arm to let him know we’d arrived as he seemed completely oblivious to the fact, he looked up at me angrily but when I opened the door he realized and cut the call.
We headed inside to find ?? In the center of the arena with some of the elders, talking and pointing to pack members before scribbling notes on the pad he was holding, why they didn’t use the iPads we’d upgraded too was beyond me.
Once we reached?? the crowd had fallen silent and stood straighter in anticipation.
“Right” Jaxson said firmly “Lets get underway, Koda who’s first?”
I rolled my eyes at my brother, he was never one to stand around but we needed to do this right
“Katsu what order do you want to do this in?” I asked
“By rank” He looked down at his sheet of paper ‘The omegas first’
“Right” I nodded
“I WANT ALL OMEGAS IN THE ARENA NOW!” Jax shouted out
There was a scramble from the crowd who were seated around the arena and about 50 men and women joined us.
“PAIR OFF IN TWOS!” I called out and they all quickly paired off.
“Okay” Jaxson said as he turned to the left “Everyone grab a pair and let’s meet in the middle”
Katsu, myself and Jaxson walked around the arena ordering the pairs to fight, once we had a winner for each match, the loser was sent away and the winners were told to sit back down for the next round.
We got through the ranks until we were only left with Betas and a few strong Gemas.
Things were ticking along nicely but then it went downhill and started getting very heated when one Beta screamed in Jaxsons face that he shouldn’t get kicked out because he knew he could beat out half the ones left and that one stupid fight shouldn’t dictate if he gets to join the army.
Jaxson didn’t take being shouted at well in normal circumstances but when it came to protecting our mate, he clearly had no time for insubordination.
He grabbed the Beta by throat, lifted him high into the air and brought him smashing down onto the grass.
“GET OUT OF MY GRIP AND YOU’RE IN!” Jaxson shouted but as much as the Beta fought and struggled, he couldn’t get out of Jax’s grip and eventually he tried himself out and tapped out “The fact that you gave up, is why you’re not joining the troops, you did the same thing during your fight, you tapped out, we do not tap out, you fight and win or you die, there’s is not tapping out in a war, now get up and f*ck off!”
Jaxson stood up and walked over to me with his hands behind his back and looked out at the 200 warriors remaining.
“Let keep this sh*t rolling” Jax ordered as the Beta angrily rose from the ground and ran away
We moved to the endurance training and by the end was only left with 142 but that was more than I’d intended on.
One of the men really stood out to me, a brunette with a scar down his chest and I made a note about him getting further training to take a leadership role.
“Noland” I called out to him and he quickly stood forward and bowed “Why haven’t you ever applied to be apart of the guard, you’re more skilled then half of them”
