She was alot more playful and confident than Madelyn and I hoped she’d be a good influence on Madelyn now that she was fully out and it would help Madelyn come out of her shell more.
“Let’s get her!” Flynn shouted and took off
We all ran around for the next hour and both Knox and Flynn were shocked at how fast she was, we’d slowed down so she could keep up but her speed was still faster then any Luna we’d ever met.
She also had a playful side and kept leaping around and onto us but when she pounced on Flynn for the third time, he quickly flipped her over and pinned her down playfully and licked his tongue up her face before Knox jumped on both of them and flattened everyone.
“Get off!” Flynn laughed and shook his big body and tipped Knox over .
Knox could have fought it but he was in a strange playful mood that was rare for him and he simply rolled over onto his back and wagged his tale while Flynn laid back down on our mate again.
“Mate?” Knox rolled over and crawled over to her and placed his big head next to hers and licked her again “Can we mate?”
“She has only just shifted for the second time ever” Flynn growled at his brother “Don’t be such a hound”
Knox growled playfully before whinning again and I smiled to myself “Mate, you didn’t answer me”
“Okay” Ava surprised all of us
“Are you sure you’re ready?” Flynn asked but I could hear excitement in his voice, Ava nodded and Flynn stood up “Turn over”
Once Ava was in the position Flynn quickly filled her, she took it better then Madelyn and seemed to enjoy the primal nature of her mates and we all enjoyed our day together mating and playing in the woods, it was all in all, one of the best days we’d ever had and I didn’t want it to end, unfortunately it started raining and we wanted Ava out of the cold weather and returned home around sunset
KODA’S POV
I was eating some chips in front of the fire while Jax ran a brush through Maddie’s hair and told her a funny story about our youth, Maddie had tried to take the brush from him shyly but he simply told her to turn around.
After we’d made it back from the woods, we took Maddie for a nice long bath to relax but I could tell Jax felt the same way I did, we both wanted to f*ck her again, but after her horrific shift we knew we had to wait.
We ordered dinner and ate together in our room around the fireplace, but I was still hungry and grabbed out one of the packets of chips to snack on. I’d offered Maddie some, but she shook her head and told me she wasn’t a fan of chips, Jax wasn’t either, and I couldn’t believe how weird my mate and twin were, but at least I got them all to myself.
“Madelyn” Jaxson said cautiously, which drew my attention. He’d been joking around not five seconds ago. Why had he suddenly switched “Now that things are solidified between us”
“And you can’t get away” I added and winked at her, causing her to smile and blush, but Jax rolled his eyes and nudged me with his foot but I swatted his away.
“Anyway, as I was saying” Jax went on “Now that we’ve marked and mated, Koda and I are really hoping you’ll open up to us now”
Oh.. I knew what he was talking about now, I’d wondered where he was going with this.
“Open up about what?” She asked, a nervous edge in her tone
“About your past”
Her reaction was instant. She pulled away from Jaxson and turned, so she was facing us with wide nervous eyes
“You don’t have to yet if you’re still not ready” I said quickly “But we know you’ve been through alot and we really want to know so we can help you heal”
Maddie frowned thoughtfully as she pulled her knees up to hug them “I.. I don’t want to talk about it”
Jax looked disappointed and so was I, but then Maddie continued
“But..I can show you” She said softly, her voice faltering nervously
“Show us?” Jax asked.
“I have a power that allows me to transfer memories” She told us
“You mean like Jax and I can?”
“Yes” She nodded “But I can do it with anyone”
“You really were meant for us weren’t you” I smiled and moved closer “So.. You’ll show us?”
“I can, but do you really want to see everything?” She asked us “It’s not.. it’s horrible and..and you’ll see how weak I am”
“You’re not weak” Jaxson said firmly “And we do want to see”
“Okay” She said quietly
Maddie looked terrified as she placed her hands on our arms.
‘Are you really sure you want to see this’ She asked nervously, but we were both determined.
We needed to know what she’d been through, even if it was going to hurt, we wanted her to know that she wasn’t alone with these memories anymore.
We nodded and exchanged a confirming look before turning back to our mate who seemed conflicted, I guess she’d hoped we would change our minds.
After she took a shaky breath, she closed her eyes and just like with myself and Jax, memories begun to fill my mind, the only difference being, when I exchanged with Jax, I felt like they were my memories all along but with Maddie, it felt like I was watching a movie unfold and unfold it did, much to horror.
The fire few years had a blurred edge to them as Maddie was far to young to remember thing clearly due to her age but it was beyond adorable to see her carrying around a tiny blue owl teddy but as she grew, her memories turned dark
MEMORIES – MADELYN’S POV
AGE 6 –
I woke up at dawn when my alarm went off, today was my first offical day working for Alpha Troy and I was going to be shadowing Lorie, an old witch who’d come to work for the Alpha some years before I was found.
She’d been taking care of me since I was born and she was the only one in the pack who was kind to me except for Luna Morgan.
I quickly washed up and dressed in long pants and a green top the Luna had given me, she never bought clothes for me directly, everything I wore was donated from others in the pack, things they’d outgrown or just didn’t like anymore but even at my young age I was grateful.
When I left my room to find Lorie, she was talking with Alpha Troy who barked an order at me to go bring in some of the fire wood.
‘Yes Alpha’ I said quickly and rushed outside, I was so confused, we had electric heating, I didn’t understand why he wanted an actual fire but either way, I was eager to please him and did as I was told.
By the time I brought the wood into his study, he was annoyed by with how long it had taken me and he shouted at me angrily, calling my useless and a waste and that he should have left me to die in the woods.
I burst into tears and ran from the room and hid in my bedroom until Lorie came in to find me and I told her what he’d said to me and she comforted me and made me laugh and wiped away my tears
“There now” She smiled and kissed my head “All is well again, lets go get you a hot chocolate”
AGE 7 –
Today was the hardest day of my life, Lorie was found dead in the woods, she’d been discovered by the partol guards on the path she usually took from her cabin in the woods to the Alpha’s home.
I’d been crying all morning but it had gotten on the Alpha’s nerves and he’d sent me out of the house and told me to go clean the chicken coop.
I didn’t understand his attitude, it was like he didn’t even care that this women who’d been taking care of him and his family for years was gone and I told him so.
