“At the ball but we rejected each other” She answered
“YOU REJECTED YOUR MATE!?”
“Who is he?” Sophia asked
“Alpha Scott”
“SCOTT!?” I shouted angrily
“If you rejected each other than how did you sleep with him?” Ryker asked and he started pacing the cell
“He hated the twins” She told us with tears in her eyes but her pain didn’t sway me “And I hated Madelyn”
“LUNA!” I shouted and she jumped and fell silence “KEEP TALKING!”
“Even though we rejected each other, we were drawn together over our hatred for you two and the bond” She told me “And I’d met his sister, she begged me to hide her after her parents left the city, she knew Scott and I were mates and tried to push us together but I’ve only ever wanted you and he wanted Mad.. um, Luna, so we were going to work together to get you both back but my heat came before he died and we slept together, I didn’t mean for it to happen but we couldn’t help it”
‘So this is how you really knew where Sky was” I snapped “Because you hid her, how dare you lie to my parents”
Blake looked at her feet ‘I’m sorry”
“DID YOU KNOW THAT SCOTT WAS GOING TO ATTACK MADDIE?!” I shouted in my alpha tone
“No” She cried “I swear, not until afterward, Sky told me everything and she said she was going to get revenge for her family so I turned her in, I just… I thought if I handed her in, I could make up for everything, I’m sorry”
“You make me sick!” I snarled.
“If this is what happened, then why lie about Alpha Koda being your child’s father?” Her mother asked.
“I love him” She wept “I thought if I could convince him that he was the father, he’d choose me”
“Choose you?!” I snapped “If I were the father, you’d be dead right now!”
“You don’t mean that” She argued and sniffed the tears back “You’d never kill your child”
“JAXSON WOULD YOU DUMB B*CTCH!” I shouted “OUR HEIR WILL COME FROM OUR MATE!”
“Koda, please” Ryker touched me but I growled and shoved him back
“You will inform my parents about all of this or I will, and you” I turned back to Blake “You hid an enemy behind your King and Queen’s back, you lied about the child and tried to break me and my mate apart and after everything you did at the party, you still thought I’d chose you over Maddie, you still don’t get it, I DO NOT LOVE YOU!”
Blake started crying harder and her mother hugged her in comfort
“You better pray I don’t loose Maddie because of this little stunt because if I do, I will kill you myself!” I shouted “You could have accepted Scott or waited for a second chance mate and given up on this ridiculous dream of being a Queen but your selfishness has ruined you life, I regret every second I spent with you, when you get out, you will beg on your knee’s for Maddie’s forgiveness and I will accept what ever punishment she deems fit for your disgusting behavior!”
I turned and left the cell, leaving that pathetic girl behind and left the prison.
“Where are you?” I linked my brother who angrily replied that they’d gone to the manor before cutting me without another word
“So?” Jax asked with his arms crossed and a furious glint in his eyes when I walked into the bedroom a few minutes later “Is she pregnant?”
I looked over at Maddie who was sitting in the middle of the bed and I was thrilled to see her wearing my shirt
“Yes” I felt the words get trapped in my throat and Maddies face twisted in pain as she closed her eyes.
“Maddie, please, it’s not mine”
I went over to her but my brother blocked my path and growled.
“Don’t even think about touching her!”
“Jax, seriously man, back off!” I shouted and tried to move around him but he cut me off “I need to talk to her!”
“She doesn’t want to speak to you right now!”
“She doesn’t, or you don’t want her too!?” I snapped but he just growled at me “I get it okay, I messed up with Blake and I’m sorry but you can’t keep punishing me for the past, I never loved her and this child isn’t mine, it’s not Maddie, I swear to you”
“Then who’s is it?” Jaxson asked angrily “You’re the only one she wanted to be with, who else could be the father?!”
I quickly explained about her involvement with Scott and his sister and Jax began to pace, leaving an opening between me and Maddie and I took advantage of it and climbed onto the bed.
“Baby, please say something” I reached out and tried to touch her arm but she pulled away and looked down “I am sorry she keeps trying to hurt you because of me, I never thought she was so”
“Crazy!” Jax shouted and shoved the chest of draws in anger “Madelyn keeps getting hurt because of that b*tch and what, you expect her to just forgive and forget?!”
“No” I said through a clenched jaw “I don’t forgive Blake, so why would I expect Maddie too, I just want her to forgive me, I never meant to hurt you Maddie, I wish I could take it all back, every moment I spent with Blake, you are the only one I want, please Maddie”
I moved closer to her and cautiously touched her face which was damp from tears and I felt a massive pit of guilt in my stomach
“I’m sorry for how you’ve been treated today” I told her sincerely “Blake was beyond out of line and she will be punished”
“She was already getting punished and the b*tch still didn’t learn her lesson!” Jax shouted “She still tried to hurt Madelyn again!”
“I KNOW!” I screamed “JUST SHUT THE F*CK UP, DON’T YOU SEE HOW MUCH THIS IS KILLING ME, I HATE THAT MADDIE’S IN PAIN BECAUSE OF ME, IM SORRY, OKAY, I AM F*CKING SORRY, I JUST”
Maddie cut me off mid sentence by launching herself at me and hugging me tightly.
I stopped shouting and just held her in my arms and pressed my face into her hair.
“I’m sorry Maddie” I whispered “Please don’t leave me, I’m sorry!”
“It’s okay” She told me and I felt my body relax.
“NOT ITS NOT!” Jax shouted
Maddie pulled back and reached her hand for Jax but he just looked at it and then glared at me
“Jax” Maddie pleaded and finally he came over and gently took and kissed her hand and then her cheek as he sat on her other side.
“I know it hurts you seeing me so upset” She said to him “And I’m mad at Koda too but this isn’t his fault, Blake is to blame, please don’t be mad at him on my behalf, he’s your twin, I know you love him”
“I can love him and still knock him out!” Jax growled and glared at me.
“You had relationships too” Maddie pointed out
“No, I f*cked women” He countered “And then I was done with them. I never kept one around for years!”
I felt the knot of guilt forming again.
