“How the f*ck?!” I asked as I rushed over to Ava, who sat down. I could feel Flynn stirring excitedly inside of me, begging for release.
“It’s a gift Maddie has” Ava answered as she shook out her fur
“Did you just speak?” Jax’s eyes widened as he looked over at her “How are you speaking without linking?!’
“How did you know Maddie could even do this?’ I added
“That’s too many questions!” Maddie complained as she jumped and landed on her back “My head hurts!”
“I am a white Lycan” Ava answered as her form shrank, so she was as tiny as a cat, and she pounced onto the bed an curled up next to Maddie “We can talk without linking”
“And I’ve only ever done it once before” Maddie added “The night Scott died”
“You never showed us that night when you transferred your memories” Jax pointed out
“There’s alot of memories I didn’t show you” She swung up her legs and jumped off the bed “I’m hungry!”
She rushed over to the door, and we quickly followed her but when I looked back at Ava, the smoke vanished, that was an amazing gift.
I rushed after Maddie and Jax into the kitchen and found her already raiding the cupboard, but Jax scooped her up and sat her at the kitchen table
“Stay put, we’ll make you something to eat”
While we prepared some snacks, Maddie started playing eye spy and just went along to keep her calm, so she’d stay put. She was very fidgety.
“Alphas” One of the guards, Charles, linked us while we ate. Well, we tried to eat. It was difficult with Maddie picking everything off our plates to eat it before we could.
“Yes” Jax opened the link
“We think we’ve found this person’s camp site”
“Don’t touch anything yet, one of us will come and check things out first hand” I told him
We cut the link and looked at each other and then at Maddie. Neither of us wanted to leave her, I sighed and held up my hand.
Jaxson smiled and raised his own hand and so did our stoned mate, who laughed, we smiled and played the game and I won, though Maddie declared herself the winner and then continued to eat her cracker.
“Sweetheart” Jax ran his fingers through her hair
“No” She said and moved back, making Jax frown.
“No, what?”
“No, you can’t have my cookie”
We both laughed “Love you too” Jax gave her a fake sad expression.
Maddie completely fell for it in her drug-addled state and teared up “I’m sorry” She said quickly and held up her half-eaten cookie “I love you too, you can have some”
We laughed again but Jax placed his hand on her wrist and lowered her arm “Thank you sweetheart, but you can have it” He told her “I have to go deal with something”
“Can I come?”
“No”
“Why are you being so mean to me tonight!” She slammed her hands on the counter and I suppressed a smile “I’m coming with you!”
“Do you feel like helping?” Jax turned on me with an annoyed expression.
“Not really” I smiled and crossed my arms “But I guess I will, you owe me one though, Maddie baby, Jax has to go out but, do you want to come dance with me?”
I got up and went over to the stereo and put on a song I loved before turning back to her, Jax got up, kissed her and headed out.
“Keep me posted” I told him, and he nodded and left “Maddie, come here”
“I don’t know how” She blushed
“Then I’ll teach you, get your cute ass up”
Maddie giggled and got off her chair, making sure to take a grape and popping it in her mouth on the way.
“Have you ever slow danced?”
“No”
I placed her arms around her neck and wound my arms around her waist and started to move, but she was so stiff, and I smiled as I slid my hands down to her hips and started to move her in time with the music.
“That’s it baby” I coached her “Just move slowly, you are so sexy baby, have more confidence in your body’
She blushed and began to move with a little more confidence, but I realized too late that this was a bad idea when she pressed against me and caused my c*ck to harden.
“Will you kiss me” She whispered and looked into my eyes, sh*t… did her eyes always sparkle like this?
“Just one kiss, nothing more”
“Deal” She smiled, but she looked suspicious.
I leaned in, and she wound her arms around my neck and I pressed my lips against her soft wet ones and breathed in her sweet scent, tasting her with my tongue. She behaved for a few seconds, but when she slid her hands down my chest to my belt, I pulled back and gave her a stern look, but she just giggled and shrugged.
“Let’s go take a shower”
“No”
“Please, I’m all gross”
“You could never be gross” I told her, but she ignored me and ran towards the staircase, so I followed.
JAXSON’S POV
I hated leaving Madelyn when she was vulnerable, but I knew Koda would die to protect her.
Knox on the other hand, was worried because he thought Madelyn would try and seduce Koda again and the weakling would give in to her advances, but I assured him, he wouldn’t.
Knox ran through the darkened streets, lit up only by the lights along the road and the dim reflections coming off the buildings, but thankfully, Lycan’s had great vision at night and everything just looked like a darker version of its daylight counterparts.
We made quick time getting back to the tavern, which had been roped off and some guards were still searching the place for drugs.
Once back at the location, I followed the scents of the guards who’d chased after the invisible person.
