“Jack” He told me
“Get him to the prison”
“Koda, what’s going on?”
“You never found it strange that your daughter is pregnant, and yet, she’s not marked?” I told him “Or the fact, that she hadn’t known Scott for long enough to go into her heat”
“I..I hadn’t given it much thought”
“Nor, had I until Maddie brought it up” I admitted “She’s either pregnant, but not to Scott, or she’s lying about being pregnant. Either way, I want to know how she’s pregnant without the mark. There’s something else going on”
“I’ll be right there” He told me “I’ll let Theo know that I won’t be at the meeting”
I cut the link, and linked one of our healers, Jessy, who I trusted. We grew up together, and I knew she wouldn’t betray me. I asked her to come to the prison, to examine Blake, and she readily agreed.
I made it to the prison, parked, and went inside, past the guards, who bowed.
‘You!’ I shouted, and pointed to one of the guards, Lance, as I walked into the prison lobby “Bring Blake into the interrogation room, now!”
“Yes, your majesty” Lance, quickly rushed off to the elevators, while I went to the private elevator, and went to the right floor.
I walked down the long hallway, before going into the room. There wasn’t much to look at, just a desk, several chairs, and a two-way mirror that divided two rooms.
I sat down and impatiently waited. I was tapping my foot angrily when the door opened up and Blake was brought inside.
She looked like cr*p, Blake had always made it a point to look out together, no hair out of place, the latest fashion, and always neat and tidy. She was a far cry from that today.
Her hair was pulled up into a messy bun, her black dress was wrinkled and slightly stained, and her shoes were plane black and worn.
Her eyes lit up when she saw me, but I growled in warning, and she hung her head.
“Sit her down, over there” I pointed at the seat on the opposite side of the table “Make sure she’s chained”
“Yes sir”
Once she was locked in place, Lance bowed and left, and we were alone.
“Cody, I”
I slammed my hands down on the wooden table, causing a fissure, and I growled.
“ITS ALPHA!” I screamed, and she flinched back in fear “KEEP YOUR DAMN MOUTH SHUT, UNTIL YOUR FATHER ARRIVES!”
Tears filled her eyes, but I no longer had an ounce of affection for her, so her tears didn’t sway me.
We remained in awkward silence until, finally, her father walked through the door.
“Where’s Jack?” I asked, when Ryker came in alone, and glanced at his daughter, but there was nothing but anger in his expression.
“Vanished”
“What?” I snapped, and glared at Blake.
“I had someone go to his home, but it’s empty”
“Send the patrol after him, I want him found”
“I’ll speak to the patrol after we leave here”
I turned to Blake, who was sitting quietly, and shaking a little.
“Why are you looking for Jack?” She asked, her voice thick with concern.
“Are you really pregnant?”
“Yes”
“Well, we’ll see”
“What do you mean?” She asked nervously
“I have one of the healers, I trust, coming to examine you”
