“Beta Ryker just came to see me about Blake!” I snapped, and Koda’s face paled slightly “Now, is there anything you want to tell me?”
“I’m going to f*cking kill him!” Jax shouted, and shoved the closest chair.
“Don’t blame him, at least he was honest with me!” I pointed out “You guys said last night that we’d be true partners” I held up my hand, showing my ring “Why did you even say that, if you didn’t mean it!?”
“We did mean it” Koda tried to touch me, but I stepped back “And we were going to talk to you about Blake, I was just… I didn’t want to upset you again, because of my terrible past choices”
“You told me you were going after your uncle because there were sightings” I reminded him “But you lied to me, you were going to follow Sky”
“No, sweetheart” Jax told me “At the time, that was the truth, there were sightings, this plan with Blake and Sky only came to pass after Blake was arrested”
“Arrested for hurting me, and now she’s going to get out!” I told them “It’s not fair, she doesn’t deserve it!”
“Baby, please calm down” Koda looked at me sadly “Come sit, and we’ll tell you everything”
“Don’t bother!” I shouted “Do whatever you want!”
I turned and marched for the door, but Jax cut me off, and held up his hands “Enough, don’t be a child and sit down, so we can talk!”
“You had a chance to talk when this issue first came up!” I snarled “But you chose to keep me in the dark”
“We were just trying to protect you!” Jax snapped “And you keep things from us too, so stop being a hypocrite, and sit down”
“What? What do I keep from you?”
“You told us when you were stoned, that you didn’t show us all of your past memories!” Jax snapped at me.
“So what?!” I stomped my foot angrily “My past is my business, and I’ll share it when I’m ready. The two of you have decades of memories you haven’t shared with me, and I haven’t used it against you, that you haven’t shared it with me, but things like this, that have happened since we’ve been together, I deserve to know, I don’t deserve to find out from someone else!”
“We know, and we’re sorry, please Maddie” Koda pleaded, when I crossed my arms and glared at Jaxson “Please sit down, so we can talk”
I gave a frustrated huff, but decided to hear them out. I marched over to the sofa, and sat down with my arms crossed, but when Jax sat down close to me, I moved further away. He glared at me but didn’t say anything, while Koda grabbed another chair, and pulled it over, and sat down in front of me.
He rubbed his face, and leaned onto his highs, so he was angled close to me “Okay, so what exactly did Ryker tell you?”
I quickly relayed everything detail that Beta Ryker told me, and the twins started to look frustrated.
“Right” Koda exhaled, and sat back “Well, what do you think?”
“What do you mean, what do I think?”
“Do you agree to let her out?” Koda asked.
“Why is it up to me?”
“Because you’re her Luna, and you’re the one she hurt” Jax told me.
“Fine, then no, the b*tch can stay there”
“As you wish” Jax said easily, but Koda shook his head at him.
“Baby” Koda tried to take my hands, but I growled and pulled them away from him, so he quickly moved them back “I know this isn’t fair, but you are going to be a Queen in less than two weeks, you have to look at the big picture, and leave out your emotions in certain situations, if we let her out, she’ll agree to do the blood transfusion, which will allow us to get the tracker on Sykler, which could lead us to Troy, and in turn, Fenrir”
“Why can’t you just order her to do it!?”
“Because we need her to act genuinely when she speaks to sky about the blood” Koda told me “We need to do this, so we can capture our uncle, baby, you have no idea the damage he caused during the first war. If we want to avoid a second one, we have to capture him as soon as possible”
I looked down at my hands, as I fidgeted with my fingers, this was such cr*p, I was so tired of letting people get away with hurting me, things were meant to be different now, but Ava convinced me that Koda had a point, she didn’t want to go to war, and she pointed out that our mates would be forced to fight if it did lead to one, and I didn’t want that, so I gave in.
“Fine, let her out”
“Are you sure?” Jax asked, his face looking slightly guilty.
“No, but letting her out, is a better alternative to going to war”
“Okay” Koda smiled “I’ll let our father know “And I’ll prepare to leave for a few days”
“When will you be going?”
“Well, now that you’ve agreed” Koda leaned forward and took my hands in his big ones, this time, I didn’t pull away “Probably this Friday”
“So soon?” I pouted.
“We have no choice” Jax touched arm “The sooner we track these b*stards down, the sooner we can kill them”
I nodded, but tears filled my eyes “Alpha Troy’s powerful” I warned Koda ‘I know you underestimate him because he’s a werewolf, but he’s not weak, he’s collected a lot of powers”
“We know sweetheart” Jax assured me “We have your memories, remember, we don’t underestimate him”
I took a deep breath, and moved onto Koda’s lap, and hugged him tightly “I don’t want anything to happen to you, you saw my vision, what if it’s Troy who stabbed you?”
“It’s not” Koda pressed his face into my throat “You were there when I got stabbed, and you’re not coming with me, so logically, I’ll be perfectly safe until I get back”
JAXSON’S POV
“It’s not” Koda hugged our girl “You were there when I got stabbed, and you’re not coming with me, so logically, I’ll be perfectly safe until I get back”
“I’ll miss you”
“Don’t worry sweetheart” I rubbed her back “He’ll be back before the festival on Tuesday”
“How do you know that?” Madelyn leaned back, and looked at me “What if it takes longer to find them?”
Sh*t..
“We have to tell her” Koda linked me.
“Fine” I responded “Madelyn, listen, about your vision of the fireworks”
“What about it?” She frowned at me.
“We think that will happen at the festival, so we spoke with the council, and we’ve come up with a plan” Koda told her.
“Plan?”
I took a deep breath, and let her know what we’d decided on, and how she would go into hiding during the fireworks.
Her eyes widened in anger, as she climbed off of Koda’s lap, and moved over to the desk, she crossed her arms and kept her back to us.
