“Okay” She smiled in relief.
Once we were at the top, we jumped off, and I had to grab my girl, when she clumsily fell “Are you good?”
“Yes” She giggled, and I let her go.
“Okay, quick tutorial” I said, but she held up her hand.
“No” She smirked “Do a slow detailed tutorial”
I laughed and pulled her in “I love you” I said, and kissed her “Okay, slow tutorial”
Half an hour later, she assured me that she had it, so we started moving around the flat area, to get her used to everything.
“Are you ready to give the slope a try?”
Maddie looked over at the decline, and gulped, but nodded “Okay, but don’t go fast”
“I’ll go at your pace” I assured her, and we went over to the start “Ready?”
“Not even a little bit” She joked, but bravely pushed off.
She was moving slowly, and seemed very tense, as her face screwed up in concentration, so I tried to encourage her to loosen up.
“Move your feet, baby” I shouted over at her “You’re slowing yourself down, face them forward”
“You face forward!” She shouted back “And leave me alone”
I laughed, and moved over to her “You’re too tense, just relax, and trust your instincts, you’re a Lycan, we are naturally athletic, face forward”
She glared at me for a second, but finally moved her feet, and her speed picked up.
“There you go, you’re doing great!”
We made it halfway down, Maddie getting faster, but then she screamed, as she began to wobble, and she came down hard into the powder. I quickly pulled up, and went over to her.
“Are you okay, baby?” I asked nervously, but when she looked up blushing and pouting, I burst into laughter “You are so cute”
“Just trust instincts” She mimicked and mocked my voice “We’re naturally athletic”
I laughed again, as I picked her up, and she started dusting off the snow that clung to her clothing.
Two hours later, Maddie was doing great. She’d only fallen down a few more times, before her natural instincts took over, and was picking everything up easily, so I convinced her to try the biggest slope, and hardest path, which she reluctantly agreed to.
We were back on the lift, and I looked over at her, her nose and cheeks were pink, and I was so tempted to kiss her.
I could no longer control myself or my hands, and I reached over, and took her face in my hands, and pulled her mouth to mine. Her lips were cold, and she was shivering slightly, and I pulled back.
“Are you cold?”
“Yes, it’s freezing” She smiled at me.
“Why the hell didn’t you tell me you were this cold?”
“You were so excited to teach me, and I didn’t want to disappoint you”
I looked at her in disbelief, here I was, wanting to show off, and she was letting me, but at her own expense, she really was so selfless.
“I truly love you Maddie” I told her, and kissed her once more “You are the sweetest woman I’ve ever met, and this will be our last run. We’ll go to lunch, and you can warm up”
“Thanks” She smiled, and hugged my arm, as the lift continued to the top of the slope again.
“Are you ready for this?” I asked, as we moved up to the start of the slope.
Maddie bit her lip nervously “If I hit a tree, I’ll get Jax to beat you up”
I laughed, and nodded “Deal”
She started off slowly and cautiously, but when she started trusting herself again, she picked up speed, and we made quick work of the slope.
Once we reached the bottom of the slope, Maddie was looking so pleased with herself.
“Did you see me!” She squealed, and grabbed my jacket sleeve “I didn’t fall that time!”
“You did great baby” I applauded her “Let’s go change, and have lunch”
“I have never been happier to go inside” She shivered, as I bent over and unhooked her ski’s from her feet.
Once we were inside, I grabbed both of our bags, and we showered together in the female toilets, which I noticed smelt a million times better than the male ones I usually used, so I made a note to bring that up with the cleaning staff.
Maddie seemed happy to be in a dress again, or perhaps she was just happy to be warm and dry, but either way, she had a massive smile on her face.
“Thank you for this morning” She said, and hugged me.
“You’re welcome”
“I’ve never been happier in my whole life than I am with you and Jax” She told me, and my heart raced in delight and pain, at her horrible life before she met us “All of my most cherished memories have happened since meeting you both a few weeks ago”
“I’m glad we’ve improved your life” I kissed the top of her head “You’ve improved ours too, more than you will ever know”
“I have?” She asked in disbelief.
I shook my head and smiled “Maddie, you weren’t the only one who felt like you didn’t have a family” I told her “Jax and I always felt alone, and now we have you, and the possibility of a family of our own, you are the best thing that’s ever happened to us, you are our more treasured possession”
She smiled and hugged me once more, and I just held her for what felt like days, I didn’t want to let her go, but my stomach growled, breaking the moment, and Maddie lent back laughing.
“Maybe we should go eat” She suggested.
“Right this way, my lady” I took her hand and pulled through the ski resort, to the dining hall. It was a replica of a snow cabin I owned, only three times the size.
Inside were about twenty tables, each with 8 seats, all wooden and hand carved. The ground was a mixture of wood and stone, and there were fake animal skin rugs on the ground, and several of Jaxson’s and a few other artist’s wilderness paintings hung on the walls.
Around the large room were 4 large fireplaces, each with single recliners, and it was to one of the fireplaces that I led Maddie.
A staff member had set up our food on a large coffee table, and she’d moved large cushions on the ground around the open fire.
My stomach growled again as my senses were assaulted by the delicious savory dishes, and I quickly sat down on the cushion closest to the meal.
“I asked the chefs to prepare a few dishes you haven’t tried yet” I told her, as I picked up a bowl and started filling it with warm beef stew”
