“Awesome” He smiled and held up his wrist.
“Whatever” Koda glared at his brother, as I latched Jaxson’s bracelet to his wrist “Mines still better”
I giggled, and snuggled back up to Koda, who wound his arms around me.
“You have to link me everyday, so I know you’re safe”
“If you’d like”
“And if you find Alpha Troy, you shouldn’t fight him” I demanded “He’s got powers, and he’s strong”
“Baby, I have powers too”
“Besides” Jax added “We’re Lycan’s, and he’s just some half-breed mutt, we’re stronger, Koda will be alright”
“What if your uncle is with him?”
“Then I will contact the pack and have them assist me” Koda informed me “Everything will be alright Maddie, I promise”
I sniffed again, and sat back “Swear to me” I demanded “Swear you’ll come home alive and safe”
“I swear” He gently ran his fingers down my cheek to my throat, making me shiver “I plan to have a long and happy life with you and Jax, you’re not getting rid of me”
I nodded, and cuddled him once more. When the car came to a halt, I tensed and held Koda as tightly as I could manage, but finally, he told me, he had to depart.
I exhaled sadly, and climbed off his lap, and the three of us climbed out of the car.
Several large Beta’s were waiting in their Lycan’s forms at the massive gate I’d driven through on the way into the city, with Alpha Troy and his family, and I felt a little better. Those Lycan’s were huge. They’d keep Koda safe.
Cody gave me one last kiss and hug, before hugging Jax, I noticed them looking at each other. They must have been linking, but then Koda nodded, and started taking off his clothes.
I blushed, and started taking his clothing, and placed them into his bag, and when I’d zipped it up, Coda was gone, and Flynn’s massive body was sitting patiently in his place.
Ava started to get restless inside of me “MATE!” She shouted in excitement and started wagging her tail.
“Flynn!” I hugged one of his thick legs, and he lowered his head onto my body, tickling me with his fur “Both of you have to stay safe”
“Yes mate” He linked me, and I pulled back.
Flynn picked up the bag with his teeth, and started to walk towards the men, but Ava started to panic, and I let her have control.
“MATE, STOP!” She called out.
Flynn dropped the bag instantly, and turned, just in time for Ava to wrap her arms around his arm like I had “I love you”
“I love you to mate” He purred, and moved back, he licked my face, and Ava giggled and shoved his face away playfully, before using my cloak to clean my face off.
Flynn whined and laid down, so his massive head was in line with ours, and Ava hugged his snout “Come home soon” Ava ordered, and Flynn nodded, before pulling back.
He gave us one last look, before picking up the bag again, and leaving.
JAXSON’S POV
Madelyn had been silent since Koda and Flynn’s departure, and I had to admit, that I was feeling a little uneasy myself, it had been a long time since we’d been apart.
I had to get some more work done, and was in my office, while Madelyn went to the library. It was her safe space, and I let her retreat there while I finished up.
But as dinner time approached, I knew I had to go get her, I’d organized a dinner with Evet and Cole tonight to try and distract her, and we had to meet them in an hour, so I went to find her.
She was sitting in one of the corners with her knees up, and a massive book resting on them, I smiled and as she read, her face was getting animated and her eyes widening, whatever she was reading, she was enjoying.
“Good book?”
“Jax!” She jumped, and blushed, as she shut the book “You scared me!”
“What are you reading?”
“Oh, it’s this really great book on Fairies” She answered “Have you ever met any?”
“Of course” I answered “There’s a clan in the woods just outside the city. When it’s safe for you to leave the city, Koda and I will take you to meet the Queen. She’s the most bizarre woman you will ever meet. She has four mates, and like 12 children and counting”
“Sounds hectic” She smiled “Maybe I’ll ask her for some pointers, for when we have children”
My whole body lit up at that thought “Which will be when, exactly?”
“Did you want something, Alpha?” She asked, placing her hands on her hips.
I laughed at her grumpy expression “I’m taking you on an unofficial double date”
“How is it unofficial?”
“Well, we’re a couple” I pointed out proudly “But we’re going with Evet and Cole, who aren’t, so technically it’s not a double date, but either way, they’re accompanying us, so hop into the shower, and get dressed please”
Madelyn placed the large red leather-bound book carefully on the shelf and turned to me “Maybe we should stay in tonight” She suggested “I’m not really in the mood to leave the manor”
“Which is exactly why we’re going” I pointed out “I’m not letting you stay in and dwell on Cody, now come on”
I took her hand, and pulled her towards the bedroom, passing Julia on the way “You’re dismissed early today”
“Yes sir, have a good night”
“Do you think there’s something going on with Cole and Evet?”
I laughed as we walked into the bathroom, and I started pulling off my clothes “He wishes” I answered “Evet has decided to start waiting for her mate, so Coles got no chance”
“I wish they’d find their mates” She commented, and started pulling off her clothing.
“And why’s that?”
“So they can be as happy as us?”
I paused with my hand on my belt, her words had been so simple, but the emotion behind them made my heart skip. I smiled and went over to her, and kissed her passionately until we were both breathless.
Once I released her, she was breathing hard, and blushing red “You’ve made me happier then I’ve ever been”
Madelyn smiled and looked down, and we continued undressing. Once we were ready, I took Madelyn to the club, where we found Cole and Evet already drinking and laughing.
Evy looked stunning in a long black dress, and I noticed a few men watching her, each probably trying to pluck up the courage to ask her to dance, but not game enough… poor boys.
