Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 191 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

“Sorry, I’m under orders from the Queen, and my granny” Evet picked up my jacket, and held it up to me “The lesson is off for today, Madelyn, let’s go”

“Sorry” I smiled at Evelyn

“It’s alright, Luna, orders are orders”

“Where are we going?” I asked, as we left the office, with Molly and my guard following after us, as we walked down the hallway.

“We’re going to one of the conference rooms” She answered, as she linked her arm with mine.

I tensed a little, and forced myself, not to push her away.

“Grandmother, and Queen Kara are waiting for us” She told me “When you mentioned last night, that you hadn’t thought about the wedding, I knew I had to step in and get the ball rolling”

“Rolling how?” I asked nervously.

“Nothing much” She said casually “Just picking out the dress, and the crown you’ll wear, and what food you want, and the theme colors, and”

“Oh yes, nothing much, at all” I cut her off, and rolled my eyes “Maybe I should contact Jax and have him join us”

“No” Evet looked amused “This has nothing to do with Jax, or Koda, for that matter, this is about you”

‘It’s their wedding too”

“You are so adorable” She laughed ‘Come on, stop lagging, we are on a schedule”

I didn’t like the sound of that, she reminded me a lot of Koda right now, and that horrible shopping spree he took me on.

Evet dragged me into the conference room. It was massive and there was a large 20 seater table in the center, but it was completely covered with flowers, and color samples, and wine glasses, and a dozen other things that left me with a daunting feeling.

Queen Kara, Queen mother Kaiya, and three other women were all happily chatting away, but when we walked in, Kara smiled, and came over to me.

“Finally” She took my hand, and pulled me over to the first woman. A tall blonde, with bright red lipstick, and a very elegant black dress “Darling, this is your wedding planner, Willow, she’s amazing, she’ll also be organizing the coronation, but that has been put on hold, so we will focus on the wedding for now”

“Since when has it been put on hold?” I asked in surprise, and she looked at me in confusion.

“Have the twins not mentioned this to you?”

“No” I frowned, and Kara looked uncomfortable, as if she’d put her foot in her mouth.

“Well, you should talk with Jax this evening” She said quickly “Now, this is councilor Nadine” She pointed to a pretty black woman with long braids, that reached her bottom “She is head of tradition and Law” She then turned me to another women, with bright curly red hair, she was wearing a very revealing silk dress, and had several symbols tattooed over her skin “This is councilor Jasmine, she is the temple priestess, and will be officiating the wedding, along with helping us plan the wedding, to make sure the Goddess is respected throughout the ceremony”

“Wonderful’ I said, not really knowing what else to say.

“Most royal wedding follow the same traditions” The Queen mother told me, as she sat down in a chair “But each Queen has their own twist, Kara insisted on an outdoor wedding, for instance”

I noticed Kara roll eyes as she turned back to me “Now” She pulled me over to several plain white dresses “I want you to try on each of these, and we can see which design suites that you the best, and once that’s picked, we can start designing the actual gown”

“Are you sure now’s the right time to be worrying about all of this?” I asked, hoping to get out of this horror “We’re on the verge of war, and”

“And nothing” Evet interrupted me, probably knowing what I was doing “Go get dressed, there’s a private room through the door”

I sighed in defeat, and took a dress from the rack. An hour later, we found one that I liked, a very modest cut. A long sleep, high cut dress with a sweep train.

Evet tried to get me to try something with a little less material, but I shut down that idea, especially when she suggested a dress that showed my back. I didn’t want to tell them that I had scars, so I just said, I didn’t like it, and changed the subject.

As the morning went on, I found a great way of getting out of making decisions. Whenever I was asked a question, I’d give a few answers, and follow it up with “What do you guys think?” At which time, everyone would start talking, and make all the decisions with out.

When I pointed out that it was lunchtime, I thought I’d be freed, but out wedding planning meeting just got moved to a restaurant in the tower.

I exhaled in defeat once more, and let them lead the way to the restaurant.

Jax linked me as we walked into the dining room, and was eager to use him as an excuse to escape, or at the very least, have him join us, but the jerk blew me off, and then pretended the link was cutting out, just to get out of the planning.

Ava and I frowned grumpily “Don’t worry, Ava” I told her firmly “I’ll get revenge”

“Good” She said, happily, and curled up to sleep.

During lunch, the ladies continued to chat about the wedding details, so I just smiled and nodded along.

“Maddie, Jax?’ Koda’s voice filled my head, and Ava was instantly awake again.

“Koda’s linking me, I have to speak to him” I said quickly, and placed my glass back on the table.

“Fine, go” The Queen mother said, though she sounded put out “But you only have five minutes, so hurry”

“Yes, mam”

I quickly left the table, and spoke with the twins, I loved hearing Koda’s voice, and I wished I was in his arms. When had I become so reliant on the twins for my happiness? This worried me a little. What if my vision came true and Koda rejected me? The pain of that would destroy me. Should I start pulling away from them now, for my own protection?

Sadly, Koda had to go, and I took a deep breath before returning to the table again.

“Is everything alright with Koda, dear?” Kara asked me.

“Yes, he sounds more bored than anything”

“That’s good” Kara looked relieved.

“I’m glad, I don’t have to go camp in the woods and spy on a house” Evet said happily “The joys of not being next in line for the throne”

“It doesn’t mean you don’t have duties” The Queen mother, Kaiya snapped at her “If you’d just leave that id*otic salon, you could do more for the pack. Why you want to spend your time cutting hair, is a mystery to me”

“I don’t hear you complaining when I’m doing your hair, granny” Evet smiled, and her grandmother gave a huff, and took a sip of her drink.

“Speaking of duties” Kara gained my attention again “We will need to discuss who you’d like to invite to the wedding. There will be some Luna’s you will need to invite, but otherwise, you can choose your invitee’s”

“I don’t know anyone” I pointed out “Although, I was hoping to invite me family”

“Your family?” Kaiya laughed in disgust “Your are not inviting them”

“Why can’t I invite my family?” I asked angrily.

“And how do you expect us to get in contact with them?”

“I don’t know” I shrugged, in defeat “But there must be a way. Surely you know where their city is. Couldn’t we send a messenger or something?”

“Don’t be absurd child” Kaiya sighed dramatically “You need to forget about those fools, they abandoned you, you entire life, why would you want to reach out to them?”

I placed my drink down on the table, and stood up “I’m done with this” I told her angrily, before turning to Queen Kara “May I leave please?”
