Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 207 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

“We’re sorry” Koda sounded sincere, but I was too p*ssed to care right now, and growled at him “We were just scared you’d want this connection with another man, we were going to tell you, but we just wanted to come to terms with it ourselves first, so we could tell you calmly”

“Well, that ship’s sailed, now hasn’t it!” I snapped, even Ava was angry at them, and was pacing around furiously in my mind “I kept things from you, because I was scared, and wanted to try make sense of everything, but I have been trying really hard to let you both in, but you kept this from me out of jealousy”

“We know” Jax admitted, all the fight had gone out of him, now that Koda had dobbed them both in for being hypocites.

There was a knock on the door, and Jax went over and opened it “Where is he?”

“He didn’t show up to training, so I linked one of the other guards to go to his apartment, but it was empty, I don’t think he ever lived there”

“Send troops out to track him down, and keep me posted” Jaxson ordered.

“Yes, sir”

I crossed my arms angrily, as Jax closed the door “He isn’t a criminal”

“He lied to us about who he is” Koda commented angrily “He has been spying on you, and sending you letters, and he suspects that there is someone in your life that is a threat to you, and didn’t inform us, he probably knew you were in danger the night Scott attacked you and didn’t do anything because he wants to bring on this damn molt, he is a criminal, Keeper or not”

“What are you going to do when you capture him?”

“Have him thrown in the prison until he tells us the truth”

“And if he is my Keeper?” I asked “Will you let him out?”

“I don’t know” Jax sounded upset and unsure “Do you have any idea how hard this is for us? Sharing you with Koda is one thing, I love my brother, and I never feel jealous of your connection, because it just feels so natural to me. Hell, at times, it even turns me on, but you having a connection with some other man, I just… I don’t know, okay….I just… if he is your Keeper then”

“Then what?” I asked “It changes nothing between us, I don’t want him s*xtually, I want you and Koda”

“It changes everything Maddie” Koda sat down and placed his elbows on his knees and put his face into his hands “What happens if you decide to give him this thread? You can’t expect us to be okay with some man having control over your power”

“I don’t even know him yet” I pointed out “Who says I’d trust him enough to give him that control over me, and if this thread really does exist, then I’d want the two of you to have it”

“We can’t both have it” Jax shook his head.

I crossed my arms, and exhaled through my nose “Fine, I’ll just keep it to myself then”

“We don’t know if you can” Koda said “We don’t have enough information about your kind. Capturing Noland will give us answers”

“What if your dad kills him?”

“Who says Koda and I won’t?” Jax asked “You don’t have to worry about our father”

“We won’t kill him” Koda snapped, and glared at Jax “And we will protect him from our father”

“Promise me” I demanded “He is my only connection with my mother’s side of my family. I don’t want him to die, and if I do molt, he may be the only one who can help me control that side of myself. I have no idea what to expect, and I’m scared, please promise me you won’t kill him!”

Jax looked at me for a moment, before coming over and pulling me into his arms “We won’t kill him, we promise” He said “Why didn’t you tell us how scared you were about your molt?”

“The same reason I’ve kept all the other things from you both” I answered, as I wrapped my arms around him “I’m used to dealing with things on my own, and I just needed to get things clear in my own head before informing you, and… and I don’t like you two seeing me weak, that’s all I’ve been since we met, but I’m not”

“We know you’re not” Koda quickly came over and wound his own arms us “We’re sorry we haven’t made you feel safe enough to share, but please Maddie, stop keeping secrets, let us in”

“You can’t keep secrets anymore either”

“Deal” Jax said.

“I mean it”

“So do I” Jax argued “From this moment on, full disclosure, I swear, and I’m really, really sorry for yelling at you earlier, please forgive me, I had no right to yell at you when we were keeping secrets too”

“I forgive you” I told him “Do you forgive me?”

“Yes” Koda kissed my head “But, is there anything else?”

“No, that’s all my secrets” I answered “Well, except for some of my memories, but as I said, I’ll tell you myself when I’m ready”‘

“That’s fine” Jax tightened his grip.

“How are we going to find out who the spy is?”

“I have a few men, I trust, that I can use to spy on everyone in your life” Jax answered “But you are never allowed alone with any of them until we know for sure”

“Okay” I nodded into his chest “Oh, and you’re not going to hurt Beta Cole again are you?”

“No” Koda answered before Jax could “There’s no point if you’ll just heal him, but you can’t undermine us like that in public again, we have to be a united front”

“Okay, I’m sorry”

“That counts with your Keeper too” Jax pointed out “If you do decide to give that thread to someone, you have to talk to us first, please promise me that”

“If it means this much to you, then I promise” I told them, and we all fell silent for a minute “Are we done fighting?”

Koda laughed, and kissed my head again “For today” He told me “Let’s go eat, I’m sure this argument was made worse because we were all hungry”

“Okay” I agreed.

JAXSON’S POV

Lunch and the rest of the day felt a little awkward. I was feeling really guilty for yelling at Madelyn, and losing my temper, but all of these revelations were messing with me.

She was dreaming about another man, a man she might share a special personal connection with, and that man was someone I didn’t trust. If he was her Keeper, he’d left her in hell, and she couldn’t just expect myself and Koda to just move on and forgive him, because she was to damn forgiving for her own good.

After lunch, Madelyn went back to her office to do her first official Luna duty. Our mother had sent her a task to do before the evening, and despite her upset mood, she was taking it very seriously, and took off to go prove herself.

Koda checked in with our guards as we returned to the office, but no one could find Noland, which in-furiated me, did he know we were coming for him? Is that why he vanished? We also set our men in place to start tracking Molly, Evelyn and Tyrone, and even Julia’s movements. We didn’t think Julia was the spy, as we trusted her, but we couldn’t take the risk, not with Madelyn’s life at risk, we even replaced every guard that was watching over Madelyn just in case it was one of them.

We also reluctantly told our father about Noland possibly being her Keeper, which he didn’t take well. We chose to keep the necklace information to ourselves though, if it was powerful, we didn’t want him to know about it.

When Koda started complaining about being starving again, we packed up for the evening, and went to retrieve our girl from her office, before going to dinner at a new restaurant we hadn’t shown her yet, but she didn’t eat much, claiming she didn’t have an appetite tonight.

Even on the car ride home, she wasn’t herself, she was just silently leaning on my shoulder and playing with my fingers. I tried to just let her be, but I hated her being upset, and had to try and make things better.

“You were quiet during dinner” I confronted Madelyn, as we entered the bedroom, and I pulled off my jacket, as I threw it over the chair.

Koda growled, and marched over to it, and picked it up, and took it into the closet where he shoved it angrily into the basket of dirty clothing.

“Stop throwing your cr*p around the room!”

I laughed “I was wondering how long it would be before you snapped” I told him “I’ve been purposely throwing sh*t everywhere, and watching you get mad”
