Chapter 218 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

“We will” Jax told him, and cut the link.

“Noland better be right about her location” I said nervously “Otherwise we’re wasting time”

“Do you trust him?” Jax asked, as our Lycans sped through the city, which was made slower by the fact, that drunk pack members were still out celebrating, we kept having to jump over everyone, and growling loudly in warning for them to move out of the way.

“Not even a little bit” I answered, as Flynn looked over at his dark gray Lycan “He might not be her Keeper, he might be working with Troy or Fenrir, and just pretending to know where Maddie is, this might be a trick or a trap”

“True” Jax sounded worried “But it’s the only lead we have”

“Jax, we need to talk about what will happen if we don’t get to her in time”

“Shut up, we’ll find her” He shouted, as Knox growled at me “We will get them back!”

We ran in silence for the next hour, my heart rate was way too high, and I was finding this knot in my chest tighten with every failed attempt I made to link with my mate. I tried not to think about what they were doing to her, we knew Fenrir would want her blood, but we also knew Maddie, she wouldn’t willingly give it to him, which gave me chills of fear to think about what Fenrir and Troy would do to her when she refused.

I was cursing myself the entire run towards the woods, hating myself for not staying with her, or for not double-checking with Sebastian about the location, or for trusting Molly. That part confused me most of all. She hadn’t applied to work for Maddie, Evet had stumbled upon her and offered her the job, and I knew that Jax had looked into her, and nothing screamed enemy. The girl’s background check was clear.

At least we now knew who the spy was, that Noland had warned us about, unless there were more in place.

When we finally entered the woods, all the Lycan’s began to sniff the air in search for our girls scent.

I hadn’t been here since I was in my mid 20tys, and I was never told until meeting Maddie that it was Iyarna who destroyed it. We’d been told that one of Fenrir’s inner circle had destroyed it before the war.

There were no sounds of animals other than owls and small critters, there were no signs of larger game anywhere.

“Flynn, do you smell anything?” I asked him.

“No”

“We have to split up” Jax ordered “Noland, you’re with me, Cole, go with Cody”

“Keep contact every thirty minutes” I told my brother, before Flynn shifted direction and turned right, with Cole and Bryson.

Flynn’s eyes roamed the forest, hoping to just see her standing before us, but there was nothing, no tracks, no remnants of her scent.

I tried linking her and Ava again, but just all the other times, there was no connection.

Why didn’t we stay with her? I cursed myself again. If Molly was alive when we got to them, she was the first I killed.

After an hour of roaming around, the troops finally reached us, and we all continued on through the miles and miles of dead forest.

Flynn clawed his way up a stable looking tree, that still cracked slightly under his weight, and he sat down on a high branch, sniffing the air, and looking anything.

“I smell smoke!” He shouted, and turned his head to the left.

“Jax!” I shouted “Did you or any of the troops start a fire?”

“Of course not” He snapped back “We’re not on a f*cking camping trip!”

“Then you need to get to the west of the woods” I told him, excitedly “Flynn can smell fire, it has to be her!”

“We’re on the way!” Knox shouted back, with joy, and cut the link.

Flynn pounced on the ground, and took off like a shot with Bryson at his tail.

“Hold on baby” I whispered “We’re coming, just hold on”

We reached the area of the woods where the smell of the fire was coming from, and I quickly shifted when found a small tree ablaze.

“Maddie’s scent is here!” I shouted, as I pulled on my pants that Flynn had been carrying all this time.

Bryson shifted, and Cole quickly took control of his body again.

“We found the fire” I told Jax, as I looked around the small clearing “It’s a tree, not a camp fire, but her scents here, she must have started the fire”

“How could she, if she’s got those cuffs on?” Jax asked.

“Cr*p” I exhaled “I hadn’t thought about that.

“CODY!” Cole shouted, as he lifted something from the dirt, and ran over to me “Is this hers?”

“Oh, my Goddess!” I shouted in relief when he passed me a hairpin. Maddie had been wearing “It’s hers, we must be close!”

“Jax, she was definitely here” I linked him again “Cole found one of her hairpins, I’m going on ahead, catch up!”

I pulled the pants off again, and put her hairpin into one of the pockets. It was stupid, but I had to keep it. I shifted, and Flynn picked up the pants once more and took off, sniffing the air and trying to follow the fading scent left behind, that unfortunately was mixed with the smell of her blood.

MADELYN’S POV

I could feel my back scrapping against something cold and sharp, and I began to moan in pain, as I felt tiny scratches, breaking my skin.

I opened my eyes, and saw two dark figures pulling me by my ankles through the woods. Where was I? What was happening?

The two dark figures turned, and dropped my ankles “About time the b*tch woke up”

Hearing Troy’s voice had my skin crawling, and I nervously gripped a handful of dirt and tried to focus as he walked around my body towards my head, which was throbbing.

“GET UP!” He reached down “We’re not carrying you if you’re awake”

He grabbed my arm, and pulled me to my feet, and I quickly threw the dirt into his eyes, and thrust up my leg, making contact with his crotch before turning and running away from them.

But I stumbled over some kind of root sticking out of the ground, and fell down hard. I tried to get back up, but I wasn’t quick enough before I felt Troy grab the back of my head, gripping my hair tightly as he yanked me up. I screamed and tried to claw at his skin while I struggled, but he turned and punched me directly in the temple and everything went black again.

When I was waking up for the second time, it was because I felt a strange pinching on either side of my neck, and when I looked up in confusion, I saw Molly holding a syring. Did she inject me with something?

“She’s awake” Molly yelled over her shoulder.

“Did you give her the injection?” I heard an unfamiliar male voice.

“Yes, your majesty” Molly told him “She can’t link”

“Good, get out!”

“Yes, your majesty” Molly bowed, and rushed away.

I looked around and saw that I was in some kind of silver cage with a dirt floor, inside a small one-bedroom hut that looked like it was made of leaves, vines and branches.

I could smell a fire outside the hut, and there were voices wafting in on the wind.
