Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 249 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

“Fair enough” Queen Kara smiled, and kissed his cheek “We should go”

The King nodded and stood up “There’s a bonfire being set up in the garden by the Tower” He told us “Go home, change and be there within the hour”

“But Koda’s injured” I pipped up.

“Which is why he’ll be going home to rest” The Queen answered “But you and Jax are well enough to attend, and you will, we lost warriors, and we need to celebrate their sacrifice”

“Alright” I responded, but I was still down.

“Don’t worry, baby” Koda reached up and touched my face “I’m on a lot pain killers right now, I’ll be asleep soon and won’t even notice you guys are gone”

“Okay”

“Well” Jax stood up and stretched, revealing a cut on his stomach “I’ll go and get a wheelchair for the cr*pple and get him home”

An hour later, we’d showered and changed and Koda was fast asleep. We were in the car driving to the Tower.

“What’s wrong?”

“I don’t like leaving Cody while he’s injured”

“He’ll be good, sweetheart” Jax assured me “You saw him, he’s already snoring his head off”

I unclicked my seat belt and climbed onto Jaxson’s lap.

“I wish you’d stay in your belt” He commented, but his hand wrapped around me “What if we crash?”

“I’ll risk it” I answered, he literally just ran off to attack Dragons, and he was worried about a car crash. Were all men so strange? “I’m so happy you’re both alive”

“Me too”

“When I felt Koda’s pain, my heart literally stopped” I told him “I never want to feel that again”

“It’ll be okay” He rubbed my back in comfort “It’s over with now, and we’re both still with you”

“You can’t leave me”

“Never”

“Are you really okay?”

“Yes”

“Do you want to talk about what you went through?” I leaned back and asked ‘It must have been hard for you losing your friends and seeing Koda getting hurt”

Jax smiled and touched my face “Not right now” He answered “But if I need to talk, I’ll come to you”

“Promise”

“I promise”

“I can be there for you both too, you know that, don’t you”

“I do, thank you”

I smiled and kissed him until the car pulled into the Towers parking lot.

“Let’s go” He smiled.

We left the car to see the gardens were already filled with pack member, I could see several people crying, but also so men and women laughing and joking about their lost friends.

We walked into the garden to see a massive bomb fire already lit, and several smaller fires where people were cooking food for the pack.

I noticed a lot of men wearing bandages and realized they were the ones that had fought.

“Should we go speak with them?” I asked Jax.

“Soon” He answered “First, I need one of those burgers”

He pointed towards a table where two men and a woman were preparing food “I’ll go, you stay here and rest”

Before he could argue, I rushed over to the table, and collected him two burger, when I smelt Noland’s scent and turned to see him walking over.

He like the twins, had several cuts and burns, but otherwise he seemed okay.

“Good evening, Luna” He bowed his head.

“Hi, I’m glad you’re okay”

“Are you?”

I frowned and took a step back “Yes, is that a fang?”

“Oh, yeah” He lifted up the Dragon fang he had on a necklace “It’s my trophy”

“Serial killers keep trophies” I commented.

Noland laughed and shook his head “So do warriors who take down an enemy single-handedly”

“But you didn’t take them down on your own” I pointed out.

“What are you talking about?” He argued with a smirk “I took down this one without any help”

“Maybe after it was on the ground” I shrugged, I hated his c*cky attitude, we’d lost lives today, and he was sporting a fang like it was a damn prize “But didn’t one of the Lycan’s use his electricty power to bring them down in the first place, you could hardly claim single victory, if you didn’t bring them down to begin with”

Noland’s face fell slightly as my words registered.

“Also, you killed someone who was ordered to sacrifice his or her life in order to protect their family” I went on “Keeping a part of their body as a trophy for others to see, is disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself”

I walked away with a few pack members looking after me and whispering among themselves as I made my way back over to Jax who smirked at Noland and took the plate of food.

“Thank you, sweetheart”‘ He kissed my head before returning to his conversation with an elder.

After Jax finished eating, we wandered around the park. I found myself sitting with Evet by one of the fires while Jax went to the bathroom in the Tower and the King and Queen walked around chatting. It was strange to see the King laughing while he spoke to one of the elders. I didn’t even know he could do that.

Evet was talking to one of the dead warrior’s friends who was laughing and offering shots in memory of his fallen friend. I found out that a few years ago, his friend had tried to challenge Koda, not for a title, but because Koda owned one of the bars in the city, and he wanted it to impress some Fae woman he’d met. But Koda won the fight in seconds and took the girl on a weekend away just to rub it in, I didn’t like that part of the story, but the rest was funny.

I enjoyed hearing about the pack members. I’d never been allowed to be part of this kind of community part of the pack during my time in Troy’s pack. Not that they’d have wanted me to be even if Troy had allowed it, they all hated me.
