“Our great-grandfather built it about 100 years ago, it is very strong” Tate replied. “What do you want to do this weekend Jade, we left it open for us to all make plans. What do you want to do?”
“Well,” I tell him as we exit my Jeep and I head to the back of the Jeep to get my purse and duffle bag, ” I need to get some new jeans, so I want to go by Goodwill, and I really need to learn how Tyler did the change to and from his wolf form and not tear his clothes, that would be awesome for me as I am a girl. Oh, and I also want to keep up with my training like we talked about, as I will be sore if I stop for the weekend, and then start up again on Monday morning. I would like to train here too as Tyler said that each pack has different fighting techniques and since this week went a little South, I need to learn to defend myself.” I then turn around as I no longer hear conversations going on behind me and see my family and Travis all looking at me “What? what’s wrong?” I ask.
“What do you mean you need to learn to defend yourself. You have only been at Stone Moon for a week, who is causing you problems?” Tyler asks me.
“You remember that Ashley girl from the Elite warrior training? She told her younger sister that I had you two threaten her and a couple of other incorrect things. So, her sister Brittany told me to watch myself and Brax told me that Ashley was bad news, I am new to training and I don’t want to have to, but if it comes down to me getting beaten up and me defending myself, I am going to defend myself”. I told them.
“Ok, so tonight after dinner I want you to show me what Brax has trained you on, and we can add some of our techniques to it. They will be from our pack, so Ashley won’t know them. What a bitch telling the story backward, that girl Ashley totally lied about the whole thing. You didn’t tell us to do anything, we saw her character come out, and decided ourselves that we didn’t want to be around her”. Tyler says.
“Tomorrow morning at 6 am you can come to our training, both basic and Elite, then we can shower and go into town to shop a little, and I would only do that for you, sis, because I love you, and I hate to shop. You know you can call us; we would have come down to help you”. Tate says to me.
“I won’t be long I just need 3 pairs of jeans because I am down another size, and I need my pants to stay up. It will be a quick trip. I will pick up two new belts too for when I get to a size 10. I am in a 12 now and when I lose more, it will help to hold them tighter.” I tell them. I glance over at Travis because I am still embarrassed about my weight, but he is nodding in approval, and that makes me feel a little better for not getting judged on my weight.
“I could tell that you had lost even more weight honey, you are doing a great job. I know it is important to you, so I got in touch with Brax and asked him to send me what you had been eating so you can stick to your plan here too. I want you to be comfortable and happy here. I passed it on to the chef for him to make sure you had some options for both food and snacks in the fridges, and they are marked with your name so they will be easy to find. There will also be salads in there, Nicole told me your favorite one to eat and your favorite fruits and veggies and the chef even whipped up a light dressing for you to try. He said if you liked it, he would send some back with you in a cooler along with the instructions so the chef at Stone Moon could make it” Mom finished speaking and I can’t believe how much thought she put into me coming to visit. I go over to her and give her a big hug.
“You didn’t have to go through all that trouble for me, but you doing it shows how loved and welcomed I am to your pack. So, thank you so much for doing this for me. I want to lose all my extra weight and THEN go pack to Howling Wolf pack and accept Calvin’s rejection. I think that it would make me happiest to let him know that rejecting me is HIS loss, and I hope I look good enough to make him suffer a little bit over it. He didn’t even try to talk to me before rejecting me, and I hope he is happy with his life with Sophia. He made that choice for himself, and he chose her, he deserves to keep her for the rest of his life. Sophia is a truly horrible person, his life with her will be punishment enough”.
“Whenever you are ready to go there and accept his rejection, let us know, we want to go with you to keep you safe”. Tyler tells me, and I give him a hug.
“Yes, please, I will want you there for moral support. I don’t know if it will make me weak or not, so I may park my bike in the city and ride out with one of you to accept the rejection, or we can take my Jeep. I don’t know if I will be strong enough to drive off immediately afterward, and I won’t want to stick around any longer than I need to there, I know it will bring back a lot of bad memories. I just want to rip the band-aid off and get it done, and then leave”. I tell them, frowning as I remember falling to the ground in pain when Calvin cruelly rejected me.
“I may not be able to phase yet, but I am really good with weapons, so I will still be able to help protect Jade when we go,” Tate said. I hug him because I know he wants to keep me safe too.
“Hey, I can go with you guys. I am almost 20 years old, and I can help too, you know what I am capable of Tyler. We can all go together” Travis says. I give him a hug as well and I see him wiggling his eyebrows at Tyler, trying to get a rise out of him. I lightly tap him on the arm and tell him to stop messing with Tyler.
Mom takes me up to my room and I see that it is newly redone for me with freshly painted walls in a warm tan color and had been beautifully decorated throughout. A large flat-screen TV was on the wall and the bed and dresser were prominent in the room with a beautifully patterned comforter on the bed. I saw that there were two sets of PJs in the dresser, one a size 12 and one a size 10. How thoughtful was my new mom? She had obviously put a lot of thought into the room and wanted me to be comfortable. I turned towards her and grinned running to her and giving her a big hug. “Thank you for doing my room, it is beautiful. I love my new PJs thank you for getting them for me”.
