“You are disgusting, thank the Goddess Jade is not here as I would hate to have to fight you over her” Mason tells me.
“I agree with Mason, you have changed this last year, and not for the better man, you were never like this before you went to Alpha Training. What all are you guys doing up there because you are no longer the man I once knew. I am glad Jade is not here, she went to the Dark Moon pack to visit for the weekend. She had a hard week and needed the visit. I am with Mason, I would have hated it, but I would have stepped in to kick your ass as well. As it is, I now need to protect her from your slutty friend Ashley, to make sure she doesn’t hurt her during our training sessions. Ashley holds a grudge and I know she is not done messing with her. Jade is a pure, and loving, soul. Anyone in her presence sees it and responds to it. She got rejected because she was overweight, she has endured more than most people would be able to take, and she keeps moving forward and pushing herself. She has only been here for 2 weeks and has already lost 23 lbs. She had already lost 5 before she got here.” Braxton tells me with pride in his voice.
“So, she is fat, that is why she got rejected, that makes sense. Werewolves are usually not overweight, why is she?” I say to them.
“Don’t make me punch you man, and that is her story to tell. I believe your parents will be letting you into the small circle that knows what she went through” Braxton says. He pauses for a moment and then continues, “Stop being an asshole Asher, she excels at everything she does, she is stronger every week. She is a machine and Mason, and I, are going to get her where she needs to be. She is following the diet that my friend set up for her to follow and she never complains. She just does what is asked of her and tries to do it better every time she does it. She IS going to be my number one female Elite Warrior, and probably be there in less than a month. She has focus, and drive, she has empathy and truly cares for others, holy shit, Jade is probably supposed to be the Luna. It would make sense as we all feel protective of her that the Goddess would send her to us”.
“Well for her sake I hope she isn’t because I REALLY don’t want a fat Luna,” I say. Mason and Braxton both growl and stand up and Mason points to the door. “I got it, I got it, you are picking her over me too. I am leaving.” I mumble and leave Mason’s Apartment.
I stop in the hallway and wonder why I am being such an asshole. Bree accused me of being one, but I didn’t think I was, her comments made me mad, she has always looked up to me. Always put me on a pedestal. I was her big brother and her personal hero. Now she hates me and so does Dixon. My own siblings hate me now and all because of this stupid, fat girl, Jade. I didn’t cause this problem, it was just a misunderstanding, and Ashley should have kept her mouth shut. Why does everyone love her, even my best friends Mason and Brax. They picked her over me too. My world is coming down, and I just want to scream in frustration. I head towards the elevator at the Gamma end of the hall, in case Mason or Braxton come out I didn’t want to be close enough to then to start arguing with them again. I will clear it up tomorrow before I leave.
I smell the most amazing scent floating in the air, in the hallway. A sweet musk and patchouli scent, a musky-earthy smell, like the woods after it rains. I smell my mate up here and follow the sweet, spicy, and musky scent to a room. I enter it and it is empty. Since it is now 2 am I know due to it being empty who’s the room belongs to. Holy shit Braxton was right, Jade is supposed to be the Luna of the Stone Moon pack.
Well hell, what am I supposed to do now I think as I exit her room and go up to the Alpha floor. I am screwed. Wait, no, there is no need to panic, I have plenty of time. She won’t be able to sense me as she has never met me, and with her still having her first mate, because she didn’t accept his rejection, she won’t be able to scent that I am her mate until she does reject them, so I have plenty of time.
I relax a little because that buys me some time to figure out what I am going to do, she smells so good, I am not going to be able to return for a little while, but that is ok. I already made plans to go to Lake Havasu for Spring Break, so I have a month and a half before I ever need to make any decisions about Jade. She smells great, but hey, she is fat, and I don’t want someone that I would be embarrassed by, or embarrass the pack, I need a strong Luna who can be respected.
“Respected, right,” my wolf Aries says links to me. I am surprised because he rarely speaks up these days. “No one will ever respect Ashley. Not the people that she has slept with, or the ones, like Mason, that have turned her down. She is untrustworthy and does not deserve the title of Luna”.
“Aries, you don’t have the full story, Ashley is a good person. None of us are perfect, you are too hard on her” I link back to him.
“Human you forget we are one and the same. I know your thoughts and your heart. You need to seek out Jade and let her know that we are mates. I will not accept that dirty slut as my mate. Only Jade, so get your shit together. I will not accept anyone else but Jade”. Aries links back to me.
“You are not in control here Aries, I am. It WILL be my choice on who my Luna is true or chosen, you don’t get to tell me what I will do”. I link back to him
“Fine, you do what you want. I will do what I NEED to do on my end”. Aries links back to me, and I understand that there is an implied threat in his words.
