Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 49 – Rejected My Jaded Love (Jade Devoe) Novel Online Free by KatVonBeck

I need to just plan to not come back until after I graduate in May, it will be a few days before they: Bree, Nicole, Jade, and the human girl graduate from high school and I am going to HAVE to go to that. I will deal with her then, maybe I can find an acceptable girl to bring home to my parents, so they never have to know that Jade is my mate. I can Alpha command Jade to keep her fat mouth shut. Yes, that is what I will do. Maybe I will sleep with her and then reject her, we will have to see how she looks in May, the way Brax was talking she will probably be thin by then. If she hasn’t accepted the rejection, I won’t even have to worry about any of this. What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her. I guess I will just keep Ashley on the hook for a little while longer, she is really willing to do anything to keep me happy. Maybe I will invite her to go to Lake Havasu for Spring Break to make it up to her for canceling on her this weekend. If I am not here, I know mom won’t notice her leave and we can meet up at the Lake with no one ever being wiser about it. My family and friends are all pissed at me and maybe I have changed and not for the better, I will work on it after I graduate. There is no rush, nothing bad will happen to me until she rejects that Beta and realizes that we are mates.

Maybe I will pretend to be interested when my parents give me the lecture tomorrow morning. There had to be a reason that everyone thinks that this girl Jade hung the moon. Maybe tomorrow I will find out the reason why. I got into my shower and use the body wash to help me out tonight because Ashley isn’t allowed up here anymore. Mom made that ruling and I am leaving it alone until I finally take over the pack. It kind of makes it convenient for her to be banned as I don’t really want her staying up here with me anyway. She can totally be annoying, but she lets me do whatever I want, and right now, being able to have a Luna and secretly step out too, is a win in my book. I just don’t want her moving into my room, I don’t want her living with me. “Exactly” Aries pipes up.

I think of Jade’s musky, sweet, smell and I end up finishing quickly on the glass tile of my shower. I feel totally relaxed right now, and I haven’t felt that way since I left the Alpha Training College. The competition there is fierce. Who is the strongest? Who is the smartest? Who is the best strategist? Who is the most trustworthy? Who is the best fighter? Even who has the prettiest Luna, why that matters, as your mate is picked specifically by the Moon Goddess, but a Lot of Alpha’s these days are picking a chosen for the attributes that they feel are the best and to make treaties and packs with the packs those girls come from.

The pressure is immense, and I guess I have been drinking and sleeping around to deal with the pressure and trick my brain into thinking that I am happy. I could have chosen to work out, to do something that would benefit myself, but it isn’t any fun to do it alone, better in a group. What is wrong with me? There is no way that I am falling for her myself, everyone else can fall in love with her, but not me. I don’t like or need her. I don’t need a true mate they keep you from doing whatever you want to do. They keep you held down you are trapped by the mate bond. I am better off without her. I fall asleep quickly because I am still very relaxed and fall into a deep sleep.

I don’t remember when I have slept better, I haven’t slept this good for months. I get up, take my shower, and go get breakfast. I head up to Dad’s office and knock on the door at 958 am for our meeting. I hear my parents tell me to “come in” and enter the office. I sit down in a chair in front of their desk and get a faint scent of Jade, and it helps me relax. I wonder what she was doing in here.

“Good morning,” I tell them as I shift in the chair. I feel like a child facing my parents across the desk.

“Good morning, Asher,” my parents say at the same time, and it makes me smile.

“What we are going to discuss is only known to a few people and needs to never leave this Office,” my mom tells me.

“Sure,” I say, “what did you want to talk to me about?”

My mom then tells me what all Jade had gone through at the Howling Wolf pack, the abuse, the assaults, the potential rape “prank” which no one in their right minds would call a prank, and her rejection and then finding out her mom, dad and brother were never her mom, dad, and brother. That was a lot for one person to deal with. How was she still as nice as everyone is saying she is? I would be hateful to everyone and try to punish them all for their actions. She just ran away from them and make it safely here.

I get up to leave the office and my dad says, “sit down your mom is not done.”

“What, is there more?” I asked him.

“Yes,” dad said, and then my mom told me of what happened the next day when they got ambushed and almost trapped at the restaurant and Dixon driving them all back here. No wonder he was so enamored of her, he saved her, he protected her, and he feels special feelings for her because of it.

“Dixon and Bree did a great job! Nicole too. They kept a level head and got her to safety. I am really proud of them” I tell mom and dad.
