I nod at him, unable to make a sentence right now. My mind was all over the place and when it stopped, my fear increased.
“Is that why Eric is after her? Because she is a white wolf? I ask Tyler.
“Yes, he found out, we assume because she is the only wolf that left their pack and a white wolf had been spotted at her old home. Someone visiting saw her as she phased for the first time on the front lawn after she was rejected by Calvin. Nicole and Jessica helped her inside as she was too weak from the rejection and her first phase to get upstairs. When they were going through the living room is when they heard her aunt admit that Jade was not their child, but her niece and that they only took her in because of the life insurance policy. Hillary put a clause in it that they had to raise her if they accepted the money. They were supposed to save half of the money from the 2-million-dollar policy for Jade to live on after she turned 18, but instead Sylvia, that is Jade’s aunt, spent all of it. Sylvia was planning on kicking Jade out of their house because it was her 18th birthday, and Sylvia had spent ALL of the money. So, she lost her home, her family, and the money she was supposed to have received basically all in one day. Nicole called her parents and told them what had happened. Then they all left Howling Wolf pack and came to Stone Moon. You know the rest. I thought you knew this story, why were you not told?” Tyler asks me.
“I was told about the pranks that she had to endure, and that she had been rejected and had then come with my uncle Bryan and aunt Audrey and my cousin Nicole to the pack, but I didn’t hear the rest of it, no wonder everyone was so protective of her. She is a descendant of the Moon Goddess herself, as are you, and your family. Maybe they wanted me to accept Jade as my true mate, without the added knowledge that she was so special. Now that Eric knows, he will stop at nothing to get her. She has to be protected at all times. I am scared for him to get his nasty hands on her. She is pure and innocent, and he doesn’t deserve her”. I tell Tyler.
“Is this the part where you say that you do? That you deserve me?” Jade says as she walks up to stand between us.
“I have loved you from the moment we locked eyes. I would lay down my life for you. We are true mates and yes, I agree with you, even I don’t deserve you” I tell her. “But I will continue to show you every day until you realize it, that I only want to be with you. There is no one else for me in my life that I love and care about and want to be my mate. I am so sorry I didn’t treat you the way that you deserved. You were right, I should have waited on you to come back and accepted you right then, that is what Aries wanted me to do, he wanted me to stay and meet you and claim you. I was the coward who was scared, and jealous of everyone taking your side and not mine, I was drunk, and I didn’t make a good decision. You are exactly right. I messed up big time. I cannot fix what I have already done wrong, I can only sincerely apologize to you and try to make up for it by loving you completely from now on, as my true mate, and my only love”.
Her eyes soften up a little, “I am giving you that chance. I heard what you said to Tyler, I wasn’t asleep. Thank you for kicking Ashley out of your room last night. Yesterday was such a hard day for me, I don’t know what would have happened to me if you had slept with her. The pain would have been immeasurable for me, and I would not have been able to spring back from it. We would have been through before we could even really start because I would have known you were with her. It would have hurt me more because I feel more for you than I ever felt for Calvin, so I hope we can fix our bond, and that I can be able to trust you. I do want you as my mate, I just am having a hard time trusting as everyone in my life from Howling Wolf, has broken that trust. It is hard for me to open up, as that lets people into my heart, and I just don’t know if I could come back from another betrayal”. Jade softly tells me.
“I won’t betray your trust, Jade. You are my true mate and I have never felt this way about anyone else. I locked eyes with you, and it is like we are connected in the deepest way possible. If it hadn’t happened to me, I wouldn’t even believe it myself. When Ashley tried to get my attention by pulling my head down and kissing me when I pulled away from her and looked for you again and saw the hurt in your eyes. My heart literally clenched from the pain that I caused you. You are my everything, my only mate. I can still close my eyes and see the pain that I caused you by not stopping her, but I was so caught up in seeing you and finding you, I didn’t even realize that she had pulled my head down until it was too late. I did break the kiss-off, but I am so sorry to even cause you an ounce of pain baby. I won’t let it happen again. I already told her that I would banish her and her family from the pack if she tried anything else. I was serious about it, but she is so hell-bent on being Luna, I feel like she will still try again. So please, don’t listen to her, she will lie or try anything to break us up. Please talk it out with me if you ever have any doubts, I will never lie to you, I want only you. Please don’t leave me, Jade”. I tell her.
I hear a sniffle behind us and turn to see my sister, Bree, crying with Nicole and Jessica. The guy’s still on the boat are standing there as well with a smile on their faces. The only people missing are Tate and Braxton who are still skiing.
“That is the sweetest thing I have ever heard you say, Asher. I believe you and that this is who you are. This is the brother that I have missed for almost a year. Please stay, don’t leave us again, I have missed you so much, big brother”. Bree tells me while crying.
“That was beautiful, I am so happy for you Cuz”. I hear Nicole say to me.
“Oh, this makes me so happy. I have wanted Jade to get a happily-ever-after and here it is, this makes my heart so happy. I can’t stop smiling”. Jessica says to me.
“Girls I am glad you are here, and Dixon too. I have to ask a favor of you all” I tell them. “When you go back to school, I don’t want Jade left alone. I am sure Ashley will try to find out who my mate is if she doesn’t already know, as she saw me staring after your boat when you were leaving, and I don’t want Brittany getting to Jade. Please tell me the second you see Brittany messing with Jade, you too Jade, no more letting others mistreat you. I can’t protect you if you don’t let me know what is going on. I already told Ashley that I have a mate and for her to leave me alone. I also told her if she causes me or my mate problems that I will banish her, and her whole family from my pack immediately. I plan to make good on it if they do. Jade had been through enough, I have even caused her pain, and that stops now. There will be no other problems or incidents that hurt Jade. So please, if you see something, say something. If I have to leave school to take care of it, so be it, I will”. I tell them. Mason steps up to hug me and tells me he and Braxton will make sure of it when they are on pack lands as well.
“They won’t be missed at ALL. We will watch out and protect Jade”. Bree says to me.
