I start paying attention to the arguing again, and I hear Danica threaten to kill my sister. What in the hell? She must have lost her damn mind!
I mind linked my guys in the trees behind us and I told them to kill the younger women right now. The two shots ring out and the girls drop. Asher and Tyler both turn and look over to me because they knew no shots would be fired until I gave the instructions for them to do it, and I shrugged. I mind-linked Tyler and said “They threatened to kill Jade, they were on the list to be killed anyway. Yea, I tipped my hand, but they have no idea how many other sharpshooters we have. As far as I am concerned, we need to drop everyone at the gate, except the guards and Eric. He needs to fight Asher, and we may have to push him to do it”. Tyler nods back at me and turns back to the gate
Luna Taylor had started screaming when the girls were shot and had not stopped yet. Alpha Taylor was looking stunned, as well as his Gamma. Eric, Kyle, and Jeremy had started getting closer to the wall and trying to get out of sight.
“Alpha Taylor, please ask your wife to be quiet, you should notify her that we are at war, and we WILL level your whole pack if needed. We are only after a few, so it doesn’t have to be like that. We can be complete with this very soon, but you need to believe me when I say that we ARE at war with each other due to how Jade was raised and treated by your pack members. Jade was bullied, Jade. She was the victim of both physical and emotional abuse, and more recently sexual assault, at the hands of your son and Kyle. I don’t know what you are teaching the men here Alpha Taylor, but your son and soon-to-be Beta are despicable, and not fit to lead” Tyler tells them.
“Eric, have you gotten your answer of whether or not the Howling Wolf pack is surrounded yet? Are you ready to fight me for Jade yet? The Council authorized us to go to war with you. NO ONE will be coming to help you with this. You either come out here and fight me, or we start picking people off one at a time until we officially take over the pack. You were so willing to take Jade and make her your Luna, but you won’t fight me for her?” Asher tells Eric.
Eric’s perspective
I had heard back from my warriors. They were frantic. We were totally surrounded by Dark Moon and Stone Moon at this time, and we are going to have to do something.
I mind linked my dad. “Dad, he is right we are surrounded by over 350 warriors. You can always check and make sure that the Council did authorize this attack. Because I don’t want to fight Asher, for Jade. If we can get out of this, I want to do it”
“Son, I already contacted my friend on the Council. You were recorded on video meeting up with some girl and she took you to where Jade was staying. You attempted to kidnap her on two occasions. There were several eyewitness accounts turned in, along with video statements. They did authorize them to go to war with us. I am sorry but you are going to have to go and fight Asher. We can’t lose the whole pack son”.
They aren’t going to go away. I am going to have to fight him. I cannot beat him. I don’t really take training seriously, and just work out to look good, not for being able to actually fight. I can’t believe how badly this turned on me. Danica and Sophia were killed immediately. They have a list, I know that every one that is at the gate right now is potentially a target in this, even my parents. I cannot figure a way out of it for me. I mind link Kyle and asked him, “do you see any way out of this for us?”
“No, I have no idea what to do, I don’t even officially have the Beta position yet Eric, I haven’t been trained. I have no idea what to do. But this was all your idea, to take Jade, for us to share Jade. I don’t feel like dying because you can’t stand for a girl to have told you NO!,” Kyle, mind linked me back.
I tried to mind link Jeremy and see what he thinks and he also reply’s back “I have no idea man. No clue what we need to do”
Ok, I guess I need to go ahead and accept my fate, maybe it will save my pack. This was all my fault and maybe I can get a few good hits in when I fight Asher.
“Ok, I am willing to fight Asher, for Jade. If I beat him, do I still get to have Jade as my Luna? Will you leave my pack alone?” Eric asks us.
