“Conner, do you promise to sever the Howling Wolf pack to the best of your ability? To take care of all of your pack members? To follow the Werewolf laws and traditions that we uphold? To make sure that we are in accordance with the laws per what the Council member tells us?” Beta Williams calls out to Conner Smith as he swears him into the position of being the new Alpha Heir.
“I do,” Conner says looking a little overwhelmed. We all clap for him, and I make a mental note to go and speak with him, with Asher, after the meeting to show him our support and that as long as he follows the laws, we will help him as much as he needs us to.
“I give you soon-to-be Alpha, Conner Smith” Beta Williams calls out to the pack members, with a lot of cheering and yelling going on.
“Guards, please take Gamma Female Devoe to one of our nicest cells, please,” Beta Williams tells two of the Howling Wolf’s guards.
We can hear her yelling and threatening the guards until she was finally clear of the building.
The meeting was completed, and Asher and I approach Conner to speak to him. “We just wanted to tell you that if you need us to help you, we would be glad to do it. Asher is currently in Alpha Training, and I will be going after school this year. You will be going the year after me. If you have questions that Beta Williams can not answer, we can always reach out to our dads to ask the question as they have been running their packs for a long time. I hope you will not be holding a grudge against us for our actions. We did what we felt needed to be done, with what had gone on previously in your pack, and the escalation while we were on vacation, this needed to end so Jade could feel safe again. The people that we killed, they were not good people, but we are sorry for the loss of your father and your half-brother” Tyler tells Conner.
“I did not have a relationship with my father for 90% of my life. He ignored me to keep the peace with his wife, who went out of her way to give my mother, my sister, Elaine, and me, any trouble that she could. My half-brother ignored me, but I guess it was better than being bullied. I know he could tell that we were siblings as since I have grown older, we were almost identical, except for our eyes. It was frankly quite difficult living in this pack. There were a lot of bullying and meanspirited people here, but it looks like you may have taken care of the ones who caused the biggest problems in the pack. I knew Jade, she was a really nice person but unfortunately for her, Eric’s girlfriend Danica and her friend Sophia always hated her for some reason. I always thought that it was because although Eric tried to hide it, he had a thing for her, so they bullied her every day. It was absolutely disgusting what they did, and I hope that we will all be on the same page together as a pack to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I will see what I can do about getting those videos of her being bullied taken down for her. I am in the same grade as Danica’s sister and she is not an ugly person like Danica was, she probably bullied her too, so she may be able to find a way to log into her videos and get them deleted. I do appreciate the offer of help from both of you and I am sure that I will be taking you up on that. I haven’t had any problems with my half-sister Jocelyn Taylor, and I believe what she said about Sylvia taking money that should have belonged to Jade. Sylvia doesn’t work and the wages that Gamma Devoe was making wouldn’t have paid for everything near what they had, especially that house she had built. I will make sure that the money that she deserves, is returned to Jade. I may buy the house at fair market value to use for visitors to the pack, we can buy off the vehicles as they have several, then sell off her jewelry and furs to get us as close to the million as we can get. The Howling Wolf pack will then pay the difference between what we can get for all Sylvia’s items and the one million that Jade is owed. I am sure that Sylvia will not be agreeing so we will keep her in a cell until it is complete. I would offer her a job in the pack, but I know that she does not want to work, and will just be causing problems, so I will either do it myself or let Beta Marcus banish her from our pack. I will make sure that you know that she is banished from the pack on the day that we do it, just in case she comes to the Stone Moon pack to try to get Jade, or if you want, since we all know that she indeed did this to Jade, if you want to take her with you after she signs over the deed to her home, so we can buy it outright, we can do that too. I know her, and I believe that she WOULD come and give Jade problems down the road as you would have taken away what she loves, and I don’t mean her husband or her son. I am sure that she probably loved them in her own way, but apparently, less than she loves all the items that she had bought over the years. I am ashamed of the actions of so many of our ranked members. I want us to start anew and make this a pack that we can all be proud of. Let me and Beta Marcus know what you want to do, especially if you want to take Sylvia with you for punishment, as I want to get the deed signed over to us and everything be above board as I want everything to be like that from today forward. I am going to go speak with Marcus, so he is up to speed on what I want to do for Jade. I will speak to you both later” Conner tells us as he walks away.
“I believe that he will do a great job for the Howling Wolf pack, he seems like a bright young man for only being 16 years old. He will surely turn this pack around, from where it was” Asher tells me.
“I agree. I think we need to get with Tate and decide on if we want to take Sylvia with us, or just take care of her here so she can be buried with her family?” Tyler says. I agree and we head off to go find Tate to talk.
Asher’s Perspective
We found Tate standing and speaking with Calvin, Braxton, and Mason in the back corner of the room. We advised them all that we had offered help in training Conner as he has to learn a lot in a very short amount of time. Tyler quickly got them informed of what Conner had said about changing his pack from how it had been and that he wanted to get Sylvia to sign the deed to the house away so they can buy it from her free and clear and the money go to Jade. They also agreed that keeping the sale separated like that was a great idea as well in case Sylvia tried to lie about it in the future.
“Well, that is what we came over here to discuss. Conner advised that Sylvia doesn’t like to work, so there is no purpose in offering her a job in the pack. He knows her personally and she will be making trouble in the pack over her items being sold off to pay the reimbursement to Jade. He said that even though we all know the truth that Sylvia won’t even admit it, or do right by Jade, so he said after we get her to sign the deed over that he is willing to either have her banished to a Rouge, which he doesn’t mind doing, but he advises that she will be coming straight to Stone Moon to make life difficult for Jade. He also advised that it is up to us what we want to do, that we could take her with us to dispense justice to her. I can do that as I still have to deal with Ashley when I get back to Stone Moon, but I was thinking that we can just do it here, so she can be buried with her husband and son as a family. What are your opinions on this?” I ask the group.
“Conner is right, Sylvia is a horribly mean person, and she will be coming straight for Jade. I agree that we need to take care of this now. She wasn’t at the gate for us to deal with during the gun battle or it would have been dealt with” Tate says to the group.
“I agree, I know Sylvia personally and she has only ever been nice to the Alpha, Luna, her husband, and her son. She could be downright ugly to everyone else, and she went out of her way to be ugly to Jade, so I believe that we do need to take care of it now, and not let her get away from this pack where she could get some others together and try to hurt Jade. Since she is locked up in the cells, I think that she needs to be allowed to sign the deed over like Conner wanted, and then we can see if one of the sharpshooters wants to do the honors” Calvin said.
