I walk over and sit on a lounge chair near Jade and try to take a stealthy look at her, but my brother Dixon walks past me and busts me out with an “I don’t think you are as smooth as you think you are bro” before walking off laughing and shaking his head.
“Jade, do you have some time to talk now?” I asked her
She nods and heads over to me to sit in the lounge chair next to me. I smile at her, and she smiles back at me, and we just sit there looking at each other smiling for a few minutes, before my sister, Bree, calls over to us, “You said talk, not smile at each other with a big goofy smiling face, get to talking you two”. Bree grins at us both, before turning over on her stomach to sun her back.
“Well Jade, I was going to say that I have really missed you a lot and I was hoping that you could find it in your heart to give me another chance? I want us to be mates and I hope that you will decide that you want to be with me and be the Luna of the Stone Moon pack. You don’t have to decide today, I am ok with waiting while you make sure that I have made changes and that I only belong to you baby. I am yours, Jade, and I will not belong to anyone else, it is only you and me forever and ever if you will have me” I tell her.
“Can you wait for me to decide until we both graduate in May, Asher? I want to wait for a little while, just the 2 months that we have before graduation. So we can get to know each other, instead of just jumping into this. We really haven’t gotten much of a chance to talk to each other and there is a lot that I don’t know about you and that you don’t know about me. I would like to maybe spend the weekends going out on dates, or doing something together, to build our bond. I want to spend time with you and get to know Asher, not just rumors I have heard about Asher. I know that you have changed, both of my brothers have mentioned it, and I haven’t felt that tell-tale pain of being cheated on, so I want to give you an actual chance, now that I am here, and Ashley can’t pop up on us just whenever she wants to” Jade tells me.
“Asley will never bother you again. I took care of her yesterday when we got back from the Howling Wolf pack. Her sentence was carried out, and she will never bother you again Jade. My father even told her before we carried out the sentence that she had started the whole thing by flirting with your brothers and then changing up everything that happened with her sister. I hate that she did what she did, but she will never bother us again” I tell Jade.
“I have decided that I will be returning back to the Stone Moon pack, so I can return to school with everyone else, and keep earning my credits, instead of staying here and doing it online. It will be easier for us to date if I am close to you, and I do want to be closer to you” Jade tells me and I am so happy to hear this, I was hoping that she would return to the pack with us. It will help me keep Aries calm and happy having her close by and she will be just a close drive to see her on the weekdays, and I can be with her on the weekend too.
“I am so happy to hear this, I will, of course, be spending a lot more time at home now, so I can see you and it will help keep Aries calm as well to have you and Ivory around,” I tell Jade.
“I am glad that we are going to give this a real chance, I was so scared that you were going to reject me too, because you waited all that time from when you knew, almost 6 weeks ago, until now. I am glad you decided that I was worth it, but I have to say, it is kind of hurtful that you didn’t want me sooner because I was still overweight. It just makes me think that maybe you are ok with me now at the “finished product” than when I was a “work in progress” and that makes me feel like I am now what is acceptable for you to have as arm candy, but you didn’t want me when I wasn’t your version of arm candy. It makes me wonder, will you leave me if I gain weight? Is this all about appearance for you? I need you to tell me now if it is Asher because I don’t want you to just want me when I look good to you or normal by today’s standards. I need to know that you will love me in the morning with bed head and bad breath, or if I gain 40 lbs. I need to know that you are with ME, not an attractive, skinny, version of me. I need to know that you are with regular Jade, who is kind to a fault, and sometimes doesn’t see when people are tricking her, because she wears her heart on her sleeve and she gets hurt because of it” Jade tells me.
“Come here”, I reach out my arm to her and pull her onto my lap. “I am with YOU. From now until forever. No matter your size. I am actually looking forward to you growing large while carrying our pups. To making messes in the kitchen while cooking with our pups. To growing old together, and still having you sit on my lap because you are the love of my life, that cannot be replaced. You are it for me and I only wish I had listened to Aries when he said that we needed to stay to meet you when he scented that you were our mate. He knew before I did, and he was the smart one, I only wish that I had listened to him and waited at the packhouse to meet you so you wouldn’t have a moment’s doubt in your pretty little head. I caused this doubt to grow in you because of my actions, and I will work forever to make sure that you know that you are the only woman that I want; in my arms, in my bed, in my life. I want to make you my wife, the ring, and the wedding because I want everyone to know that you are mine, and I am yours wherever we go in life, forever.
Jade’s Perspective
Graduation day
Two months later
It is our graduation day for me, Bree, Nicole, and Jessica and we are so excited to walk the stage. My parents and brothers are here and smiling and waving at me. I am glad that their graduation was a week previous and not on the same day so I could be able to go and watch Tyler and Tate walk across the stage to get their diplomas last Saturday. Asher is sitting with them, with Dixon beside him and then his parents on the other side of Dixon. Nicole’s parents are next in line, and then Jessica’s family, with our families filling out the entire row. Braxton and Mason were also here sitting between the Alpha and gamma family, with Braxton making a big production of waving so that everyone around him is staring at him.
