“I agree, you look absolutely stunning, Jade,” Luna Monica tells me.
The girls walk up and all start squealing and talking at the same time. I see Braxton and Mason walk up to see what everyone was excited about, they look at me with both of their eyes opening in surprise before they both nod in agreement. Braxton tells me “That is the one” and then winks at me before he heads back to his chair with Mason. Mom and Luna Monica help me pick out my shoes and my veil and I am done and watch everyone else pick their dresses out and get the adjustments noted for them. I lucked out on mine because it was like it had been made for me, it fits me like a glove and had no gaps at the top, I am still so surprised that it fit me as well as it did. But I completely love it and I am so excited to wear it and for Asher to see me in it.
Asher’s Perspective
Today is the day of the Luna Ceremony. I could not be more excited if I wanted to be. Jade is about to be mine, completely mine, and I can’t wait for the ceremony. My dad and brother have been teasing me all day, and Jade’s parents and brothers arrived about 30 minutes ago, and they promptly started in too. None of them have any idea that nothing that they do to me today matters, they can’t take my joy away from me. Jade is to be my mate, and nothing can ruin this day for me. The ceremony is at 6 tonight and for some reason, mom and Luna Joy have been keeping me from seeing Jade all day. We have only been able to text each other today, and I can’t wait to see her.
I spend the day texting Jade and cleaning my room so it will be totally straight for Jade to come up and live in it with me. I move all of my stuff over to one side of the closet, so she can have the other side of it. I looked around my room to see if I needed to do anything else to get my room ready for Jade. It is 5 pm now, so I am going to start getting ready. My mom has been in and out of here all day and put my suit out on the bed. She was right, my old suit didn’t fit me well and I did indeed need a new one. She had also brought me two pocket squares and asked me to be sure to wear the blue one for some reason, instead of the white one, with my new suit. I got showered and ready to go and was about to put my jacket on when I heard a knock on the door. I called out for them to enter and see my dad coming in. “Do you have a minute son? I wanted to speak with you” he said to me. “I know you didn’t realize it, and you won’t mind, but your mother and Luna Joy changed the Luna Ceremony to a Wedding and Luna Ceremony. I just didn’t want you to be surprised when you see Jade coming down the aisle, to the stage, instead of going on stage with you. The minister already knows about our world and has agreed to do the wedding and me do the Luna Ceremony. That was the reason for the blue pocket square. I have heard from several sources that Jade looks stunning in her dress, so be sure to keep your mouth closed when you see her”. My dad teases me and then hugs me before leaving my room. I am glad my mom and Luna Joy did this, we are getting them both done today, and the anniversary dates will be the same, for just 1 really special day for us both.
I stood on the stage with my father and the minister and watched as Dixon, Tyler, and Tate came up on the stage to stand with me. Dixon is my best man and has Jade’s wedding bands. It was a tough decision on the two that I picked to stand with me after Dixon, but both Braxton and Mason told me that they could be ushers for the guests, and to let Tyler and Tate stand with me. Mason mentioned that they had already discussed it and they both felt like they were already my bonus brothers, as far as they were concerned, and to let Jade’s brothers stand with me to show them that they were now my bonus brothers now too. The music starts and I watch my mom being escorted by Mason, and Luna Joy being escorted by Braxton up the aisle and to their seats. My sister Bree, my cousin Nicole and Jessica all came up the aisle one after the other and stood on the other side of the stage from me, with my sister grinning at me the whole time. The music changes and everyone stands up to watch Jade being escorted to the stage by her father.
My dad was correct. I had to make a concerted effort to close my mouth when I saw Jade. She was absolutely stunning in that dress. It hugged every single curve that she had, and I have never seen her look more beautiful. Jade is naturally beautiful and rarely wears any makeup, so seeing her fully made up with her hair and makeup done, in that dress, we may have to call this whole night short because I was not going to make it. I was ready to jump off the stage and put her over my shoulder and take her up to my room right now. I cannot look away from her and I don’t see that Dixon, Tyler, and Tate are trying hard not to laugh at my expression, and Jade’s dad also has an amused look on his face when he stops in front of the stage for the minister to ask, “Who gives this woman away?”
I can’t look away from her as I stare at her beautiful face. I don’t even listen to the minister as I stare at her. That is until I feel my brother bump me in the back, and everyone starts laughing at me, do I realize that the Minister was speaking to me.
“I am sorry, what?” I say to him, and he smiles at me and tells me “Your bride is indeed beautiful, I can see why you would be paying attention to her and not me” and the guests laugh again.
“Asher Morris, do you take Jade Devoe to be your wife, to have, and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part?” the minister asked me.
“I do,” Asher says quickly, and a light laugh is heard again.
“Jade Devoe, do you take Asher Morris to be your husband, to have, and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part?” the minister asks her.
“I do,” Jade says and smiles back at me.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss your bride Asher”, the minister says to me, and I swiftly move in and bend Jade over backward and give her the kiss of a lifetime as everyone claps and cheers out for us. My father goes through the Luna ceremony quickly for us, and Jade keeps her hand out when she gets her palm cut to keep any blood from getting on her dress, and we get our blood mixed together when we grab our hands together and it seems like we got the Luna ceremony done in like 5 minutes. The knowing smile that my dad gives me, lets me know that he already knew I needed him to speed it up, as I have to get this night going on fast forward, or I will embarrass myself in front of Jade tonight, as I just absolutely cannot wait to get her up to my room.
