Fen smirks knowing we have this effect and grabs him by his throat. “Good bye.” Is all she says then snaps his neck.
I drop the rouge and start walking back home, feeling happy and satisfied. After walking a couple of minutes I hear running towards me. I sniff the air and instantly I pause. Sh*t. I forgot about Lucas.
“Luna! Luna!” I hear Lucas yelling and he comes into view.
He stops in front of me and I feel his uneasiness to come closer.
I just turn around and keep heading back to the castle. We have 2 hours before shift change and I need to be in my room and cleaned up before then.
We continue walking and about 30 minutes later Lucas starts talking.
“You are the shadow. She states. The shadow. You are him. Well, her. What the hell.”
I stop. He finally had time to register it and now he is about to break. I can feel his confusion, amazement, fear, and curiosity.
“How? Why? When? Who?” Is all he kept asking.
I stared at him not really knowing what to do. We have never been in this situation before.
“Lucas. You will not tell anybody. Do you understand me?” I say with authority.
He just looks at me. “What if I am asked?”
“You will not be asked. Who actually goes around asking people if they know who the shadow is?” I ask him.
“Ture. How did it happen? You know, you becoming the shadow? Why would you tell me your secret? When did it happen? How do you have 2 gifts?”
Fen and I start to get annoyed.
“Look, I will allow you ONE question. Choose wisely.” I state and start walking.
He is silent for five minutes before he pipes up.
“Will you train me?” He asks me and I stop. Out of all the questions he could have asked he asks that one.
“Say Yes I have a feeling about him.” Fen says to me. Which also took me by surprise. What the hell is going on? His nervousness is growing the more I stay silent. I look over to his fidgeting with his hands looking down.
“Yes.” Is all i say and start walking. He jumps up his emotions going from nervous and scared to excited and happy.
“REALLY?!”
“Yes. But you must follow my rules and never tell anybody.” I state seriously. “And stop calling me Luna.”
“What else am I supposed to call you? The Shadow?”
“No. Call me LeeAca.”
“What if people ask questions?”
“They won’t. First lesson if people ask questions they normally ask vague questions don’t answer vague questions it is a way to get more information out of somebody. If somebody asks how you ask what do you mean, or how what? Make them give you a specific question. Most times people get jumbled up because they don’t know what they are trying to ask and end up asking a completely different question. IF it is a question that is specific you answer with short truths.”
“If somebody asks you how you have gotten so good at training you can say I have been practicing. Most won’t push any farther. It is not a lie and it is not going into detail about it. Never Lie. It is hard to keep up with and harder to keep lying. It will snowball and you will be caught.”
“Wow.. Okay. I understand it though. Only answer the specific questions because that reveals less. Got it. When do we start training? “He asks perking up now.
“How long do you have to pass your warrior test?” I ask.
“Three months.” He answers.
“Then we will start tomorrow. If you are serious about this we will meet where you caught me at 00:30.” I say.
“Yes I am serious. Thank you so much.” He says excitedly.
