“What the hell Alarick?” He says as soon as he opens the door.
“What?!” I snap at him.
“Why did you explode at dinner? It isn’t a big deal.” He says.
“ISN’T A BIG DEAL? Who does she think she is? She can’t just go around changing everything!” I yell.
“Alarick. You can’t expect her to not do anything. She has a good point about the schedules. Do you know how many people look down on our business men and women? They don’t understand how hard it is to run a business. Maybe, if they took classes, they would understand and be more willing to help out when a business is failing.” Markus says, trying to calm me down. It isn’t working.
“SHE ISN’T EVEN GOING TO BE A REAL LUNA! SHE HAS NO POWER TO CHANGE ANYTHING!” I yell.
“Did she know that? I bet she didn’t. You haven’t told her what you are expecting of her since she has been here. All Luna’s have projects to help better the packs. Even if she isn’t going to be your luna she will be your pack’s Luna. That means that she will need to do Luna things.” He says. I calm down a little, but I am still furious. I don’t say anything when he speaks again.
“She isn’t Katehrine, Alarick. She won’t just sit here in the castle a do nothing. She also isn’t going to try and destroy the pack. She is trying to be a good Luna. She is trying to help the pack better itself.” He says.
“Real Luna’s don’t do anything.” I grumble out.
“No. Your first Luna didn’t do anything. She didn’t care. All she wanted was power. Would you say your mother didn’t do anything?” He asks.
“My mother was a true queen. She always helped others and tried her damndest to keep morale up.” I say.
“Don’t look at your last mate as a Luna example. Look at your mother. She had Luna projects to help the pack. All she did was explain it to your father and then off she went.” He said.
“LeeAca didn’t even tell me about it.” I say grumbling.
“Maybe she didn’t know she had to. First apologize to her, then explain to her that if she wants to have a project she needs to get the okay from you first. And before you go off and dismiss the school change, hear her out. Actually listen and think about how it could benefit the pack. If you have any qualms, tell her. Discuss it, don’t just dismiss it or get angry.” Markus says and walks out the door.
“You overreacted.” Onin pipes up in my head.
“I over reacted? Are you serious right now?” I accuse him.
“Yes. I am serious. It is a good idea to change the system.” He says back, annoying me. I push him out and then lay on my bed. Thinking about everything.
LeeAca’s POV
I run for an hour making it past my old pack and going further on. Fen’s speed is almost like a vampire’s since the accident. I rarely use it, but when she is in control she uses every bit of it. She stops when we hear a scream. We climb a tree and hop from tree to tree until we find the commotion. There is a rogue woman, struggling with a tall man. He is a member of the closest pack.
“You think you can steal from my pack and not pay for it?” He asks sadistically. I hear a child cry and look to my right. There is a rogue pup not even a year old yet. The woman struggles more against the man.
“I needed a blanket for my baby. Please he needs it for the cold nights.” She pleads. Tugging on a blanket. The man smacks her, then grabs her by the throat and slammed her against a tree. He starts unzipping his pants as she is struggling against him and the tree.
“You steal, you pay, rouge.” He says as he starts to tear off her pants. We have seen enough and jump down from the tree startling the man. He lets go of the woman and turns around to face me. His pe*is out in the open.
“Shadow. You can have her when I’m done.” The man says sickly.
“Oh no. I am not here for the rogue. I am here for you.” Fen says. She quickly mindlinks the woman and tells her to grab her child and run. The woman is surprised at first, but does as she was told. As soon as the woman and child are gone the man’s anger rises.
“What are you doing?! She stole and deserves to be punished! She is the rogue, not me!” He yells.
“She may be a rogue, but you. You are the rapist.” Fen says and conjures up a knife. He turns to run, but his pants trip him and he falls to the ground. Fen laughs manically. He is scared. Fen takes the knife and throws it successfully hitting his pe*is. He screams in pain and at the realization of what just happened. Fen only laughs, right before he passes out he calls us a monster, and tells us we won’t get away with this. Fen continues to laugh. She conjures us another knife. This one is more like a pumpkin carving knife. She takes the knife and carves an R on the man’s forehead, then flips him over and carves the word rapist on his back. When she is done she steps back and admires her handy work. She drops the knife and turns around to follow the woman’s trail, leaving the man there to live or die. We successfully catch up with the woman scaring her. Her heartbeat quickens and she begins to plead.
“Please don’t kill us. I only took a blanket for my son. I couldn’t bear him being cold at night. Please.” She begs.
Fen begins walking and mindlinks the woman. “Follow me.” Is all she says and keeps walking. The woman starts to follow us warrily.
After 20 minutes of walking we stop.
Fen mindlinks the woman again. “Walk for 5 minutes, continuing straight, there is a rogue camp. They will help you.” The woman’s eyes go wide.
“You saved me from that man and now you are saving me and my child again. You truly are a blessing from the goddess. You truly are luz de la luna.” She says bowing a little for me.
“Moon Light?” Fen asks.
