“Anna! Don’t kill me! Please!” Sophie cried out, her voice trembling as she tried to fight back, but her strength was nothing compared to mine. I didn’t care. I didn’t care if she cried, screamed, or begged. All that was in my mind was to destroy her. This was Sophie, my greatest enemy. The reason I’d suffered so much. The reason I lost my baby. The reason my family was destroyed.
I grabbed her by the hair, yanking her head back until she cried out in pain. “You wanted me dead, right?” I said, my voice shaking with fury. “Well, here I am, Sophie! Look at me!”
She shook her head rapidly, crying harder. “No, Anna, please, I didn’t mean***”
“Shut up!” I yelled, slapping her hard across the face, the sound echoing through the room as she whimpered, clutching her cheek. She didn’t know I knew. She didn’t know I’d overheard everything when Ryan spoke with Dad and Mom last night. My lost self had been too blind, too foolish to see her for the enemy she truly was. And now she thinks begging can undo everything she’s done?
Sophie was trembling now, her eyes wide with fear as she stared at me. “Anna, I swear, I didn’t want to kill you! It was my dad, he made me do it, he-“
I laughed bitterly, cutting her off. “Your dad? The same man who ordered the death of my parents? Don’t even start! I know everything now!”
Sophie shook her head again, her tears falling harder. “Please, I didn’t know it would go that far! I just-“
“You just what?” I screamed, grabbing her throat. “You just wanted to see me bleed? You just wanted to see me lose my child? You wanted to take Ryan from me too, didn’t you? You wanted to destroy everything I ever loved!”
Sophie’s voice broke as she tried to speak, her words coming out in short, desperate gasps. “I was jealous, Anna … I was jealous of you! I thought if you were gone, maybe Ryan-
“You thought wrong!” I snapped, my hand tightening around her neck. “You thought you could take what was mine, but you can’t. You’ll never have him. You’ll never have anything I love.”
Her face was red now, her breathing fast and shallow as she tried to pry my hands off her. “Please,” shewhispered weakly, “please don’t kill me…”
I let go of her neck suddenly, watching her collapse to the floor, gasping for air. “You want mercy now?” I said coldly. “After what you did to me? After what your father did?” I could feel my heart beating faster, my skin burning from the inside out. The rage in me was too much. My body was shaking, my vision blurring as I felt the familiar ache deep in my bones. 1)
I was shifting.
My wolf, the one I thought I’d lost forever, was clawing its way to the surface. The anger, the pain, the grief, it was too much for my human body to contain. Sophie scrambled backward, shaking her head in terror as she watched me.
“Anna, no! Don’t! Don’t do this!” she screamed, but I couldn’t stop it. My eyes burned, my bones cracked, and my hands turned into claws. I felt my wolf take over completely. It was angry, angrier than I’d ever been. It wanted blood. It wanted revenge.
?
Sophie’s body trembled as she shifted too, her bones snapping, her clothes tearing as her wolf emerged, a small fragile-looking brown wolf that looked nothing like mine. My wolf was huge, golden, and powerful, its eyes glowing bright. Sophie whimpered when she saw me. I could smell her fear. It was thick, heavy, almost sweet.
“Please…” she whimpered, her voice trembling even in her wolf form, but I didn’t care. I didn’t care if she begged. I didn’t care if she cried. She wanted me dead, right? So was I. I was done being weak.
She lunged at me, desperate, but I was faster. I caught her midair and slammed her to the ground, my claws digging into her side. She cried out, her body shaking as blood stained the floor beneath her. She tried to fight, snapping her jaws weakly, but she was no match for me. I was stronger. My wolf was stronger.
I leaned over her, my teeth bared, my breath hot against her neck. She whimpered again, trying to move away, but I pushed her down harder. “You took everything from me,” I growled, my voice a low, rumbling sound that didn’t even sound human anymore. “Now it’s your turn to lose.”
Her eyes widened, filled with terror as she looked up at me. “Anna, please… don’t kill me. I’ll do anything. Please …”…
I growled again, pressing my paw against her chest, feeling her heartbeat under me. She was shaking, whimpering, her tail tucked close. I wanted to tear her apart. I wanted to end it right there. I wanted her gone.
Sophie whimpered louder, crying now. “Anna, please! I swear I’ll leave! I’ll never come back! Please just don’t kill me!”
I stared at her, my claws tightening against her fur, my chest rising and falling fast. I didn’t say anything. I didn’t need to. My wolf moved on its own. I leaned closer, my teeth grazing her throat, ready to bite, ready to end it all.
And just as my wolf was about to tear her apart with my teeth, the door slammed open.ANNA’S POV
It was Alpha King George. The moment the door burst open and I saw his face, the whole room shifted. His eyes went straight to Sophie, her weak, trembling wolf bleeding at the corner, and something wild flashed across his face before his body began to twist and crack, fur spreading fast until the massive black wolf stood where he had been. He growled so loudly that the floor vibrated, his rage filling the whole place like smoke. He didn’t waste a single second before lunging straight at me with one clear purpose, to tear me apart until there was nothing left.
But what Alpha King George didn’t know, or maybe knew but was too blinded by rage to care about, was that my wolf wasn’t weak. My wolf was born from power, the bloodline of a true Alpha. My wolf wasn’t just strong, it was unstoppable. The moment his claws scraped my side, mine snapped forward with a growl so loud it made even him hesitate for a split second.
“You want a fight?” I growled through my teeth, my voice vibrating with the deep tone of my wolf’s growl.” Then come get it.”
He lunged again, but my wolf was faster. I twisted and slammed into him with all the strength burning through my body, sinking my teeth into his shoulder until I felt the hot taste of blood. He roared and swung his massive hitting my side, but instead of knocking me back, it only fueled my fury. I didn’t stop. Heck, I couldn’t stop. paw,
My wolf flung him with her sharp teeth, throwing him so hard that his body hit the far wall with a loud crack. He let out a furious snarl, shaking his head, trying to recover, but I could see the shock in his eyes. He wasn’t expecting me to be this strong.
Across the room, Sophie’s weak wolf tried to move, limping toward him, her fur matted with blood. She was barely standing. She whimpered softly, like she was calling for help, but I was already moving. My wolf turned sharply and charged at her before she could take another step.
I grabbed her by the neck with my jaws and flung her like she was nothing, sending her flying straight into her father, who had just managed to stand. They crashed into each other with a loud thud, both of them collapsing to the ground again. Their pain-filled cries filled the air, but I didn’t care. I didn’t feel pity. I didn’t feel fear. I didn’t feel anything except rage.
“ENOUGH!” I growled, my voice echoing through the room. My wolf’s eyes glowed brighter, golden and wild, and I could feel every ounce of my fury burning under my skin. “Enough running. Enough begging. Enough mercy,”
Mercy. That word didn’t exist in me anymore. These people had taken everything from me. They killed my parents. They destroyed my life. They made me an orphan and left me broken. They made me lose my unborn child. And now, they wanted to take my life too.
No. Not this time.
Mercy wasn’t a fucking option.
Alpha King George’s wolf let out another furious growl, his fur bristling as he pushed himself up again. Blood dripped down from his muzzle, staining the floor, but his eyes burned with determination. He lunged once morehis claws flashing as he went for my throat, but I was ready this time. My wolf met him midair, our bodies colliding so hard that the floor shook beneath us. We bit, clawed, and slammed into each other again and again, the sound of growls and snapping teeth filling the room.
“You’ll pay for what your parents did!” he growled through his wolf’s voice, his claws scraping my side.
“My parents?” I snarled back, slamming him down again. “You mean the ones you murdered?!”
He roared in fury, trying to bite me, but I caught his neck between my teeth, pressing harder until I felt his pulse flutter under my bite. He whimpered, his strength faltering. Sophie let out a weak howl from the corner, her wolf barely breathing. She tried to move toward him again, but my paw came down hard on her chest, keeping her pinned.
“Don’t you dare move,” I growled, my voice rumbling deep in my chest.
Her eyes met mine, full of terror, and for a second, I could see her realizing what I had become, the Alpha she could never be. She whimpered again, pressing herself against the wall like she was trying to disappear.
Alpha King George growled, trying to push up, but my wolf shoved him back down with another powerful hit. ” You think you can destroy my family and walk away?” I growled. “You think you can take everything from me and not pay for it?!”
He bared his teeth, his growl low and threatening. “You’re just like your father,” he hissed. “Too proud to know when to kneel.”
“Really?” I scoffed. “We shall see.”
He snarled again, but I didn’t wait. My wolf jumped, pushing him to the ground, claws digging deep into his chest. He howled in pain, thrashing, but I didn’t let go. I pressed harder, my teeth flashing, ready to end him once and for all.
And then, in a sudden movement, his black fur began to vanish, his bones cracking and reshaping until his human form appeared again. His body was covered in wounds, his breathing heavy, but his hand gripped something that made my wolf freeze for just a heartbeat.
A silver dagger.
He was smirking now, blood dripping down his chin as he whispered, “Let’s see how strong your wolf really is against this.”
I tried to move back, but he was fast, faster than I expected for someone that hurt. I felt the cold air shift, the flash of the blade as it caught the light, and then…
Pain.
The dagger plunged deep into my side, cutting through skin, flesh, and fur. The silver burned instantly, spreading through my veins like fire. I let out a loud cry, my body jerking backward. My wolf howled in agony, the sound echoing through the room.
I stumbled, falling to the ground as the silver continued to burn inside me, my vision blurring. Alpha King George stood above me, breathing heavily, his hand still gripping the dagger buried in my body.”Now you know,” he said darkly, his voice trembling with fury and pride, “why I am called King.”
My wolf growled weakly, trying to push up, but my body was too heavy, too slow. I could feel the poison crawling through me, the silver eating at my strength. I gasped, my breath shaky, my hands trembling as I looked up at him. His face was blurry now, but I could still see that cruel smirk.
