He signalled Caleb, who I have come to know to be his personal guard to come to lead the way, as we passed people waved and we waved back. When we reached the mansion where the main chambers were, I followed him to his room. When we reached the door, I paused hesitantly to follow him.
“Come in, it’s our wedding night and it’s a tradition we spend tonight together, you can have your separate room tomorrow, ” he said calmly and pushed the door open before wheeling himself into the room, I followed suit.
The room was enormous, with a king-size bed, it was filled with a wardrobe and an inner room which I assumed would either be a dressing room or a bathroom. There was also a grand piano in the centre of the room.
“Wow your room is beautiful,” I commended, and he smiled.
“Thank you, I had it personally decorated to suit my taste.”
“You have good taste then.”
He smiled again and soon gazed at me rather intensely this time.
“So dear Luna, it’s our wedding night. What do you want to do?”
The way the question came out brought quivers to my body and I could feel my bones grow weak.
I don’t know if I wanted to have sex, but I am his wife and it is part of my duties.
Alexander’s POV…
I can see how tense she is and somehow, I find it amusing. I won’t lie, she tickles my fancy a lot. After all, it’s not every time a woman gets to capture my attention.
She is walking around the room, touching things, observing, and carefully scrutinizing.
I love how she is so keen to take in all the details of this room or was it her way of avoiding a conversation with me about what we would be doing all night?
I am not sure I know what I am supposed to do either.
Ever since I got paralyzed, Sonia had deprived me of having sex with her. I once overheard her telling her handmaid that she found it disgusting to have sex with a crippled man.
So, when I found out she was pregnant and for the amount of time the child had been conceived, it was easy to know that the child wasn’t mine.
Even when I got better and still pretended to be paralyzed, I had not had sex either. It had been a struggle and this night would be a much bigger struggle for me too; having sex without moving the way I am used to. I wonder why my mind is already visualizing sex with her. She had not even agreed to it, and I am not about to force anyone into anything.
“You look tense, why is that?” I asked, trying to get her to stay still and stop moving around the room.
Ever since the wedding, she had been absent-minded, lost in her thoughts, and rather clumsy. I could tell she was nervous.
“Nothing, just admiring your room, ” she muttered and finally paused and gazed at me for the first time since we left the party.
“We need to talk,” I said to her, then she nodded in agreement.
“Yes, we do.”
“About sex,” I paused ” You have been avoiding contact with me because of that,” I added, and she turned pink as I could see her getting embarrassed by my forwardness.
“I am not avoiding you. I just don’t know what to expect,” she replied gently, biting her lips. She does that anytime she is nervous and unsure. It’s crazy that I just got to meet her after a long while and already knew her so well. When her sister and I were married, they never got along, so she never came by.
“You are my wife, Edwina. What do you expect?” I said, sounding a bit authoritative.
I wheeled myself to where she stood, “Edwina, you are my Luna, and I am your mate now. You have duties to satisfy both me and my wolf.”
She stared at me with intensity. I hate it when she does that because I find it hard to know exactly what she is thinking.
“You say it as if it is some sort of chore,” she mumbled underneath her breath. I almost didn’t hear her.
“I don’t know what you take it as, a duty, a means of satisfaction or pleasure, but as long as you are my wife, you are going to fulfill that obligation to me,” I stated. I hated how I sounded to her and how my words were coming off too.
“Again, with the whole obligation talk,” she muttered, moving to the other side of the room and sitting on a chair that faced the window that gave a perfect view of the garden.
“What do you want me to say, Edwina? Clearly, we are not doing it for love, but because we are married to each other. Isn’t that what you define as an obligation?” I asked, and she continued glaring at the window, not even looking at me.
“I don’t want to force you into anything you don’t want to. We can just sleep today and figure it out later. I know this might be a lot for you,” I said rather calmly this time and nodded her head in agreement. I was a little bit disappointed, but I understood her.
“I want to go take a shower,” she announced.
“Do you want me to join you?” I teased her and she smiled.
“Well, I will consider it later,” she replied with a grin on her face. “Which is the bathroom?” She asked, pointing at both doors in the room before I pointed at the one by my left.
“That one,” I replied.
She smiled again as she reached out for her luggage and opened it. She searched for it for a while, then brought out a towel and what looked like a nightgown. I watched her as she did all that and disappeared to the bathroom with them.
I get it, her hesitance to have sex with me. Having sex with a seemingly crippled person can be a lot, so I will give her enough time to process the information.
I heard the shower being turned on and I couldn’t help but wonder what her naked self would look like without any clothes.
