Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 40 – Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia & Sebastian) Novel Free Online by Lila

I noticed the other executives exchanging uneasy glances-initially shocked by my fiery stance, then slowly realizing, with growing horror, that Zoe was practically confessing.

The room filled with looks of disgust directed squarely at the deputy manager.

Amara stood frozen, utterly stunned. She hadn’t expected the accusations against Zoe to be true.

From the speakerphone, Alpha Yardley’s voice suddenly rumbled with authority, “It seems the truth is quite clear now.”

“Sebastian, handle this properly. Call the authorities if necessary. Deal with it firmly. Show no leniency.”

Everything was settled.

Zoe collapsed onto the floor, all fight drained from his body.

Over the phone, Alpha Yardley continued, “Miss Celina, you showed remarkable courage today.”

I caught the subtle note of respect in his voice-he knew. He knew I’d been bluffing, that no recording pen was left behind. But he admired how I’d skillfully manipulated the situation, step by step, exploiting my opponent’s psychology.

“Thank you for your praise, Alpha Yardley,” I replied respectfully.

“Miss Celina, welcome to Silver Peak Pack,” he said firmly before ending the call.

My heart fluttered wildly. Being personally welcomed by Alpha Yardley was an extraordinary honor. A wave of excitement washed over me, making my head spin.

But it wasn’t just excitement causing the dizziness. The room began to tilt and sway; voices and faces around me blurred and faded.

“What’s wrong?” Alpha Sebastian leaned in, gently tapping my cheek.

[Thud-]

My head dropped forward onto the table.

With my eyes closed, I felt myself lifted into strong arms. That familiar sandalwood scent enveloped me-warm, comforting, the kind of scent that made me want to cry. I longed to hide there, to shed all my defenses and simply be a vulnerable girl for once.

But then, a familiar voice pierced through the fading haze, sending a chill down my spine. “Celina, baby…”

Alpha Xavien?

No, no, no. This had to be a hallucination. A terrifying, unwelcome hallucination.

At three in the morning, in Singapore’s finest private hospital.

Celina lay unconscious on the hospital bed, her hair spread loosely across the pillow, shifting gently with each quiet breath. The soft glow of the room illuminated the IV line shimmering as it fed strength back into her fragile body.

Alpha Xavien sat rigidly on a guest sofa in the corner, jaw clenched tight.

Across from him lounged Alpha Sebastian Black.

He appeared relaxed, arms folded, eyes closed-but everyone knew better. It was the stillness of a wolf poised to strike.

Behind Alpha Xavien, Amara sat perfectly still, her posture impeccable despite the turmoil inside her. Her gaze flickered between longing and loathing as she watched Alpha Sebastian. The tension between them was so thick it could have frozen hell itself.

Beta Sawyer, ever the clever one, had found an excuse to vanish ten minutes earlier-something about urgent paperwork.

Everything had started hours ago, when Celina collapsed in the factory meeting room.

Alpha Xavien had arrived too late-only just in time to see Alpha Sebastian carrying her unconscious but breathing in his arms. Furious, Alpha Xavien had tried to take her away, but failed.

Now, his voice cut through the silence like a blade of ice.

“She only joined your diplomatic project to get back at me,” he snapped. “I’ve already filed the termination notice. I’m taking her back.”

Alpha Sebastian didn’t even open his eyes. “That’s for her to decide, not you.”

The unspoken message: You no longer speak for her. She is not yours.

Alpha Xavien’s fists clenched tightly. He couldn’t erase the image of Celina clutching Alpha Sebastian’s shirt earlier-even unconscious-as if her body instinctively knew where she was safe. As if she preferred staying with another Alpha rather than returning to him.

Inside Alpha Xavien, his wolf Kael snarled fiercely.

[You should have separated them. You needed to regain control-before it slipped away forever.]

At seven o’clock, the first light of dawn spilled softly into the room.

Celina’s lashes fluttered.

She woke slowly. Her head throbbed painfully. Her body ached deeply. But she was alive.

Alive-and not alone.

“Celina, you’re awake!” Alpha Xavien’s voice burst out, releasing a breath he’d been holding for hours.

She blinked, her vision slowly adjusting-

Then froze.

No. No, no, no. Moon Goddess, why him?

Alpha Xavien was already moving, his broad frame looming as he hurried to her bedside. He reached out, fingers heading straight for her forehead.

Celina pushed his hand away, her expression cold and unyielding as stone.

“What are you doing here?” Her voice was flat, merciless. “I already gave you the severance papers.”

Alpha Xavien froze.

The hand that had touched her recoiled as if burned.

Celina

“Baby, please, I know I was wrong,” Xavien begged, his voice cracking with emotion. “I realize now how terrible my mistake was. Just give me one more chance to make things right. I swear on my life, on everything we share, I’ll never betray you again.”

His words were soaked in what felt like genuine regret, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears that made his plea all the more heart-wrenching.

But I stood firm, unmoved by his display.

“You don’t have to fix anything,” I said coldly. “You did whatever you wanted, sneaking around behind my back for six months, flashing that fake smile. Hope it was worth it. Go ahead-enjoy your fun, Xavien. I’m generous enough to let you walk away.”

Panic twisted his face. Clutching my hand, he pressed desperate kisses to it, each touch heavy with guilt and longing, like a drowning man grasping for air.

“I’m sorry,” he murmured between kisses, his voice trembling. “I screwed up, I know that. But it’s not what you think with Cira. I never wanted her. I swear-you’re the only one I’ve ever truly loved.”

“Stop.”

I yanked my hand away sharply, as if his lips had burned me. The sensation of his touch made my skin crawl.

“It doesn’t matter anymore,” I said, my voice icy and resolute. “We’re done. I’m divorcing you, and this time, there’s no room for discussion.”

A flash of anger flared in his eyes, his expression darkening.

“Divorce isn’t just your decision! I tore up the papers!” he growled, teetering dangerously on the edge of losing control.

I held his gaze for several tense seconds, weighing my words carefully. “Fine. If we can’t resolve this like adults, I’ll see you in court.”

“Are you really ready to throw away everything we built together?” His voice dropped to a desperate whisper as he leaned in, arms reaching out to embrace me. “Forgive me just once. Please-I can’t live without you.”

“Get off me!” I shouted, grabbing a pillow and smacking him with it. “Don’t touch me!”

From somewhere across the room came a faint rustle.

Something clattered to the floor.

“Beta Sawyer, water,” came Alpha Sebastian’s calm voice, cutting through the tension.

Both Xavien and I froze instantly.

My heart lurched in panic.

Oh Moon Goddess, please tell me that wasn’t Alpha Sebastian’s voice. Please tell me he didn’t witness any of this.

Xavien’s face tightened briefly, annoyance flickering across his features-but even he knew better than to continue the drama with others present.

He rose, his tone shifting smoothly to gentle normalcy. “Sweetheart, you must be hungry. I sent someone to get your favorite chicken soup. Let me bring it to you.”

The sudden flip from desperate groveling to casual calm was jarring. His ability to switch emotional gears so quickly was almost unsettling.

I ignored him completely as he walked away.

Once he was gone, my gaze drifted toward the sofa where Alpha Sebastian sat, quietly sipping water, his broad back partially turned toward me.
