His expression shifted immediately-first surprise, then anger. Sharp and unmistakable.
Good. That meant he understood.
Maybe he still thought I was the quiet Luna who smiled politely and stayed silent at meetings.
That version of me was gone.
“You think I’m na?ve?” I asked, looking him straight in the eye.
“My voice is calm because I know exactly what this marriage means-for you and for me.”
I leaned forward slightly, resting my elbows on the table.
“You want a Luna who smiles for the public, attends events, and keeps things quiet? Fine. Then I want my share too.”
“If I stay, it won’t be for love.” My voice didn’t rise, but it grew colder.
“This will be a business deal. You get your perfect Luna, and I get my part of the business.”
I paused, letting my words sink in.
“I won’t ask questions. I won’t care who Alpha Xavien sleeps with or how often. He can bring them home-even into our bed-and I won’t say a word.”
His jaw tightened. I held his gaze, steady and sure.
“But don’t get it wrong-I’m not doing this for him. I’m doing it for myself.”
And I meant every word.
I wasn’t here to fix a broken marriage.
I was here to protect my future.
Celina
Alpha Claude’s expression darkened immediately, as if a tempest had suddenly stirred behind his eyes. His fist slammed down on the table with such force that the fine porcelain nearly trembled beneath it.
His voice dropped low, heavy with authority and frustration, embodying the very essence of an Alpha’s power. “Celina, you cannot be so greedy. Do you truly believe you deserve ten percent of the Blood Moon Tribe’s shares?”
I remained unfazed, my gaze steady and cool, as though I were merely observing a tedious play unfold. Slowly, I leaned back in my wheelchair, my tone icy and detached. “Then I’ll take that as a refusal. Such a pity.”
I let out an exaggerated sigh, perfectly conveying the disappointment I was feigning.
“In that case,” I continued, “perhaps you should convince your son to sign the divorce papers sooner rather than later. After all, I just saved you thirty-five million.”
A faint, warm smile curved my lips, but there was a razor-sharp edge hidden beneath it. “You’ve always wanted a Luna with a strong bloodline, haven’t you? Well, here’s your chance. And when he tires of playing with Cira, you can simply replace me with someone younger-Xavien’s always had a thing for novelty, hasn’t he?”
The room thickened with tension, charged with a mixture of rage and humiliation.
Wolves despised having their private matters aired in public-especially when the source was someone they considered beneath them.
“Celina!”
Xavien’s voice thundered as he stormed into the dining room, his presence radiating menace, as if he were ready to strike at any moment.
At once, my bodyguards stepped forward, positioning themselves between me and him.
Their hands hovered near their concealed weapons, prepared to act if necessary.
I offered them a small, calm smile.
“It’s alright,” I said softly, raising a hand. “Give us some space.”
Reluctantly, they eased back a little but remained alert, their eyes locked on Xavien like vigilant sentinels.
“You’re late,” I remarked lightly, my voice tinged with boredom. “Alpha Claude and I have already finished our conversation.”
Xavien’s jaw clenched so tightly I could almost hear his teeth grinding.
“This is between you and me,” he snapped. “It doesn’t matter who else you talk to! Divorce? Keep dreaming. Unless you kill me-or yourself-it’s not happening!”
I arched an eyebrow, unimpressed by his outburst.
His fury no longer frightened me; it simply bored me.
I paused for a moment before responding, my tone calm and cutting.
“I see. So, your idea of love is dragging your wife through public humiliation, then dashing off to play the hero with your mistress at the airport?”
His mouth opened, then closed-no denial, just silence.
“Tell me, Alpha Xavien,” I continued, my voice as cold as ice, “how many nights this week have you spent with her? Or have you stopped counting altogether?”
His eyes flashed with guilt, quickly replaced by anger.
I leaned forward just slightly, enough to let my next words pierce deeper.
“Let’s stop pretending. This marriage died long ago. The only thing left is your ego-and I’m not here to feed it.”
His face twisted, and a bitter laugh escaped his lips.
“You’re so desperate to be single again because you can’t wait to become Alpha Sebastian’s mate, right?”
I didn’t flinch. Instead, I smiled.
“Is that what you believe?” I asked, my voice low but sharp. “That every man who sees value in me must want to own me?”
I straightened in my chair, shoulders squared with quiet defiance.
“Let me be clear: I’m not trading one Alpha’s leash for another’s crown. Alpha Sebastian doesn’t control me. And you-never did.”
That silenced him.
Across the room, Alpha Claude’s expression shifted. “Who?” he asked slowly, narrowing his eyes. “Alpha Sebastian?”
Recognition flickered behind his gaze-a sudden realization that left him motionless.
“So that’s why you’re so determined to divorce Xavien,” Alpha Claude said accusingly. “You’re aiming for the Silver Peak Pack.”
“Celina,” he continued, his voice dripping with condescension, “just because you managed to enter the Blood Moon Pack doesn’t mean the Silver Peak Pack’s doors will open for you. You’re delusional!”
I stared at both men, disbelief tightening my chest as I fought to maintain my composure.
[Calm down,] I told myself. [Don’t give them the satisfaction.]
“My relationship with Alpha Sebastian is strictly professional,” I replied, voice steady and clear. “Be careful with your accusations. The Silver Peak Pack does not tolerate slander.”
Xavien stepped forward, his scent sharp with jealousy.
“Then why was he at your apartment in the middle of the night?”
I didn’t flinch.
“His presence proves nothing,” I shot back. “Do you have any evidence of wrongdoing? No? Then maybe you should choose your words more carefully.”
I took a step closer, locking eyes with him.
“You know what I do have? Security footage. Cameras in my building recorded everything. He was inside for less than sixty seconds. Do you really believe I’m that efficient?”
A heavy silence fell-thick and uncomfortable. I let it linger.
“Next time you come at me with accusations, bring facts. Not your wounded pride.”
I didn’t wait for his reply before delivering my final blow. “Not only can I prove my innocence, but I also have evidence of your affair with Cira. I have a recording on my phone-your little girlfriend called me during your intimate moment. A live broadcast, if you will. Should I play it for everyone to hear?”
I made a show of reaching for my phone. Xavien’s face drained of color.
He lunged forward, snatching it from my hand. “That was staged by her,” he said desperately. “It wasn’t real.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Really? You gave her your phone so she could fake moaning for my benefit? And the sound of a man breathing heavily-did she hire someone to imitate that too?”
I stared him down. “Do you think I’d believe such nonsense? Would Alpha Claude? Or perhaps… the judge when we go to divorce court?”
At the mention of a court case and the possibility of such humiliating evidence becoming public, Alpha Claude looked as if he might have a stroke.
The thought of two prestigious wolf packs airing their dirty laundry for the world to see was clearly unbearable.
“Divorce her! Divorce her now!” Alpha Claude barked at Xavien. “Go with her tomorrow and get it done!”
He had underestimated me. He had assumed I would soften with generous offers, that I could be bought. Now, he realized I wouldn’t stop until I’d taken my due from the Blood Moon Pack.
Xavien remained silent, his gaze locked on me with such intensity it felt like he was trying to burn a hole through my very soul. Finally, in a dangerously soft voice, he said, “Go ahead and sue. Use whatever tactics you want. I’ll play along.”
